We took the kids on a last-minute camping trip and found the perfect spot hidden atop the Blue Ridge Mountains. Within minutes of booking, the owner of the lot (Maureen) called me to confirm our reservation and provide us with details of the surrounding area. She greeted us within minutes of our arrival and remained in contact with us during our stay. Absolutely beautiful campsite with a breathe-taking view, even on a foggy day. We loved the freedom of being able to park our RV in the middle of the mountains on private land, rather than public/state parks full of regulations. We will definitely book again!!
Great place with amazing views. Waterfalls, stocked pond for fishing and everything. Will definitely be coming back.
The owners were some of the best people I have ever dealt with they were super nice and welcoming and I will definitely be booking here again without a doubt and I encourage other people to book here.
The site is essentially the owner's separate lot with a free-standing garage. The site has RV electric and water. The location on Buck Mtn is beautiful with little development. Maureen is a fantastic and attentive host. My only caution is the partially developed mountain road up Buck Mtn. It is narrow, windy, steep with stretches that are not paved, or in need of repair. We have a truck camper on a 4x4 F-350 and the drive up was a source of significant anxiety for this flat-lander. We also lost cell service that defeated our navigation app. I would not recommend for a large RV unless the operator has high expertise & confidence. The difficult access was the only reason I didn't give a higher overall score. Again, the site is nice and Maureen is absolutely terrific. Once the roads are complete, I would rate this as 4+ stars.
Beautiful, private, peaceful, clean & large campsite. Presently surprised by how large the lot is with easy access. We couldn’t be more pleased with the gorgeous view. Added bonus is passing a waterfall in the way in. Great fire pit & they supplied the wood for the fire!! Property Manager quick to answer any questions & we’ve actually made new friends with them! If you’re looking for a campsite that checks all the boxes for a great getaway look no further!!
If I had to mention a negative about our stay here, it would have to be that I only booked one night! We loved this spot. An incredibly hospitable host….We will definitely be back and highly recommend!
We were unable to make it but kept trying to get there. As a bedside nurse during COVID we were so looking forward to this little retreat. Unfortunately we were not able to get there but the owner's had amazing communication and understanding, this meant the world to us. We will make a trip at some point bc we so looking forward to this destination.
This place is really nice with a spectacular view. It’s a bit off the beaten track and you can still hear highway noise, surprisingly. This was all we could find near Boone which is where we were going so we booked it. Boone is a 30 minute drive. Spent very little time at the site. Just slept there. The owner was helpful in suggesting places to eat and directions to property. No sewer hookups, just water and electricity. They did provide fireWood for the fireplace. If you want to be away from everything, this is the place for you. We had some minor issues pulling our 30ft travel trailer up the steep hills. Don’t take any wrong turns because it was very hard to find a place to turn around. Our GPS actually took us right to the spot. This place is a private mountain community with some amenities like fishing and trails. We didn’t use any of them. We did think the price was a little high at 200. For 2 nights considering no sewer and a 30 minute drive to town.
Beautiful view, private, peaceful. Explored the local trails and waterfalls.
If you want to be in the mountains this is a perfect retreat with a beautiful view. We drove a 35 foot RV to a gated mountain, with paved wide roads. We were worried when we turned off on a gravel road, but had no problems driving in the community. The weather has been great and has shopping and recreation all around. We needed more time then a weekend.
