We were looking forward to our stay at this log cabin in the middle of the forest. We felt it was a true UP experience with the lodge feel, fireplace and high ceilings. The guys enjoyed sitting out on the deck in the evening with a cocktail and the view of the lake. There were 2 beautiful swans and a loon that sang for us most evenings. We did have a clear day to take the kayaks out for a peaceful and enjoyable experience. We felt at home with the full kitchen, coffee maker, large shower and plenty of linens. We didn't get the chance to use the fire pit. We stayed 4 nights and enjoyed our time.

We had the most relaxing time staying at Lake Effect Cabin. The house is very well maintained. It had everything we needed. The location of the house is picturesque. There are swans that live on the lake. They visited us in the morning. The host was attentive. Very quick to respond to questions. So happy to be able to bring our dog.

This was a perfect house for my friends and I, close to town, the dirt road is not something we are use too, but the house was great and when we had a problem, it was resolved quickly, thank you for letting us enjoy your home.

This is a beautiful cabin and a very peaceful Lake. There is about 5 mi of unpaved road to get there. The GPS worked pretty well but the owners were even better at letting us know how to find it. We ended up getting there after dark and did not have trouble. It's a little hard on your car to drive on the unpaved roads but it was worth it. You should also know that adds about 15 minutes to your time to get anywhere. The cabin itself is absolutely beautiful. Lots of room. There is no air conditioning and that makes sense for the upper peninsula but it has been hotter lately and the upstairs loft gets a little warm. They do provide extra fans and have ceiling fans so that makes it comfortable.

Cute cabin on a small private lake. Pretty remote with dirt roads to get to the property. Close enough to what we wanted to do (Pictured Lakeshore) while being out of town. Clean and had most of what we needed for our stay.

We had a very nice stay at this beautiful cabin. Kitchen was well equipped with dishes, etc. All rooms were clean. The pedal boat and kayaks were awesome to have available. I might suggest a window AC unit for the upstairs bedroom. Even with fans, it was really hot and uncomfortable sleeping. In cooler months it probably doesn’t matter. This is located waaaaay back in the woods, and 30 minutes from Munising. So, don’t forget anything, because it’s too far to grab anything quickly. The upside is it’s peaceful, serene, and really beautiful!

Very nice and clean cabin on a beautiful little lake. Included all of the amenities you need, and in a very a quiet setting.Three kayaks and a paddle boat on site made for a great afternoon of paddling around. At night the kids caught a bunch of catfish off of the dock.Firewood is available just down the road as well.About a 30 min drive to Munising/pictured rocks.Would definitely recommend this place for the value.

Your on a lake, it can sleep 8 - all Queen beds, we had 4 people so we all got our own bed. Lake view is beautiful, cabin is comfortable. It has one bathroom and is 20 min from the closest paved road but we would stay there again. Very peaceful setting.

We really enjoyed our stay on here. The cabin was very comfortable and had many of the amenities for a nice stay. The view of the lake is gorgeous. We are familiar with the neighborhood as my parents live right down the road from this cabin so finding it was not difficult for us. However I would reach out to the host before you lose phone service to get very detailed instructions to the cabin itself as it would be somewhat difficult for anybody who does not know the area.

Really enjoyed our stay and would recommend to anyone looking to get away. Fall was beautiful time to go. House was well appointed and very comfortable- we enjoyed the fire pit and appreciated the availability of the wood they made available on location for a reasonable price. I would recommend brining your own fry pans as the ones available were very worn but all other kitchen supplies were provided and in good working condition. Communication with home owner was very good when I was up there, she answered several questions I had within minutes.

Excellent place! We loved it. The Internet was not working, the owner did offer to have it fixed while we were there, but we spent all our free time hiking so opted to leave it alone. We did find a box of DVDs so we did have entertainment in the evening despite not having Internet! Beautiful views, highly recommend to anyone wanting a nice secluded getaway!

Perfect house and location for a long weekend in the UP. The house is located on a quiet lake in the middle of the Hiawatha National Forest. If you like to be secluded, this is the perfect spot! Two bedrooms on the main floor with queen beds, one loft bedroom upstairs with two queen beds. Bathroom with shower very spacious. Open concept between the living room and kitchen was great for our group. Big deck and a nice fire pit. We were greeted by Trumpeter Swans while we were there. They migrate up in that area to breed and fly south in winter. Very cool experience! Internet worked as I would expect when you're in the middle of a woods. We did not watch TV or try to stream anything, we were there to enjoy the beautiful outdoors. I will come back to the area again and I will reserve this house again. FYI: roads leading to the house are gravel. Our GPS took us down some roads that were more like UTV trails, we had to turn around a few times. Once we found the way, it was easy to not get lost again! I highly recommend this house. We stayed from October 4-6 and had great weather with little to no bugs.

Short stay of 4 days to unwind and do a little sightseeing in the area. The Cabin is well kept and is located on a peaceful small lake. Easy access to hiking areas. It was just my wife and myself, but plenty of room for kids/ grandkids. Highly recommend.

Cute cabin, such a shame it's not better cared for. The sliding screen doors fell off multiple times, multiple outlets didn't work including all in one of the downstairs bedrooms. The previous entry in the guest book mentioned the same thing. Notified owner, nothing was done. Dishwasher stuffed with dirty dishes upon arrival, trash in the yard. No flat sheet on one of the beds. Some of the cookware was grossly dirty. Spiders in the cupboard.
