Watauga River Cabins Sycamore Cabin

We loved this property. The outside amenities are great. Plenty of seating,grills, and firewood. The view of the river was awesome and peaceful. Cabin was clean and cozy. Would definitely come back again.

What’s great place to stay! We had so much privacy and direct access to the river. The place was very clean, the grounds were also very clean well maintained with so much to do. We were just a short drive to downtown Johnson City and the surrounding areas. We had such a great time fishing and hanging out by the river here, we hope we get to go back!

We loved the location of the property, the fire pit and the cabin feel. It was so clean and comfortable.

It was a nice little cabin with all the ammenities we needed and then some on an absolutely beautiful piece of property all for less than a Hampton Inn motel room. We never met the owners. We got a text on Sunday with a key code. Arrived Monday afternoon entered the key code and made ourselves at home for four days they locked up and left on Friday morning. Just a wonderful week of telling lies and fishing.. If only all vacations were that simple!

The property is amazing and the cabin is nice with an excellent location on the river. There were two door codes listed for check in but neither one worked. Had to call the property manager who gave me 2 different codes, one of which worked. The bed and pillows were a bit uncomfortable, the coffee maker was dirty and it said the filter needs to be changed, there was quite a bit of dust and spider webs accumulated in areas throughout the cabin. Would I stay here again, absolutely 100%. Those issues weren’t a dealbreaker by any means, mostly telling you so you could improve for the next guests.

The property was well stocked and up to date. Plenty of space for our family and pet. Warm and welcoming upon our arrival. It was also nicely decorated for the holidays (we stayed in December) which was beautiful. The only thing that would have made our stay better would have been an updated heater in the downstairs bedroom as the one provided did not stay on and the room did stay cold, however with lots of layers and extra blankets it wasnt that bad and we didn’t need to address it with the hosts as it didn’t really impact our overall stay.

We had a great getaway weekend! We throughly enjoyed the fire pit and wood splitter on site. Out boys enjoyed hunting for “River treasures” each day. Lots of fun things to do! The only appliance missing was a toaster. They have a toaster oven- works just takes a bit longer. We will definitely stay again!

We have had great experiences in recent years woth Watauga River Cabins, and this one was no exception.

This place was fantastic with amazing exterior amenities. We will stay there again.

very nice, tranquil setting right on the river. quiet, clean and accommodating. we had a great time playing in the river, playing horseshoes, spending time with family. the outdoor areas are so nice and relaxing. we will certainly be back when we can!

The Sycamore Cabin was clean, updated, and comfortable. It was so nice to see the river from the windows.

We have stayed here twice. This time we decided to bring a few family members with us. My daughter lives in the area. It was the perfect place for us all to meet up, cook, hang out, and enjoy the lake. This place has everything you can think of from bug spray to cooking utensils, literally everything. This is about the 8th time that we have stayed on this property. We always stay with many family members and we appreciate that the “campus” can house all of us. We love that we can make our own meals, eat them all together and also play on the property (we had some heated wiggle ball games going) and fish and relax with the river backdrop. The place holds many dear memories for us. This time we had 13 of us staying with 4 extended family join us each day for food and fellowship.

Cabin was clean with exceptional furniture and decor. Property directly on river with multiple seating areas. Numerous large trees provided shade. Absolutely great stay.

This is our fourth time, it’s a very relaxing place. The cabin was clean, spacious, the river was amazing!!! Is near many stores, fast food, & restaurants. We had an amazing time my husband my son and my self!!!

What a nice place to spend some down time with a small group of guys! From the view of the river to the cleanliness of the cabin. We will be back to this VRBO!

One of the best places ever. Very family friendly

We have been coming to Johnson City and staying at these cabins for years. We have stayed in every unit depending on the size needs for that trip. No matter what, the view is just the best! Sitting in a rocking chair listening to the river is just so peaceful.If there is ever an issue, you get immediate response.

Great place for a group!

We stay on this property as often as we can. We love it here! At this point we have stayed at four of the different cabins. My favorite vacation spot.

Gary & Patti's cabin was perfect for a group of 4 friends. We went on a fly fishing trip on the South Holston river, and it was close enough to get an early start on the day. The cabin itself is great. Plenty of room and Wifi/streaming worked well. We used the grill and the fire pit a lot. It was secluded with plenty of fun amenities. Would highly recommend if you want an outdoor stay with modern amenities! Property manager, Phil, was great :)

We have stayed at the Wautauga River Cabins several times. We refer to it as our home away from home. I can not say enough good things about this place. The property owners Patti and Gary are always there to answer questions and to keep you informed of things of importance with the cabin or with fishing the river. The property managers Phil and Alesa are always to there to assist with any needs that may arise. You can just mention that something would be nice and then the next time you go it is there. We consider them family now. This last time we wanted to bless them with a cookout because they had to deal with no electricity and lots of river cleanup after the Helene storm. But when they came they blessed us with a desert that was absolutely delicious. They are such nice people. If you should have an issue, they are always there to get it fixed in a timely manner. The cabins are always clean and the property is always tidy. The fall and holiday decor is a nice touch. We are so thankful that the rising waters didn’t harm these beautiful cabins. Were already thinking about when we will be able to return for our next get away.

We enjoy staying at this location. Secluded but close to everything.

We had planned to stay during the weekend of Hurricane Helene, but mother nature had other plans. Patti and Gary were super responsive during a crazy time and very understandable in regards to working out a solution for our reservation. If I'm in the Johnson City area, I will choose their cabins! :)
