Stayed May 28, 2026We enjoyed every bit of the cabin, the price and the process. If you’re planning a trip into the Tri Cities area, we highly recommend Willow Cabin for your stay.

Stayed May 23, 2026Willows cabin was extremely awesome and being right on the river to be able to sit and listen to nature was very peaceful. The cabin was very clean and also being dog friendly was a bonus for our little dog who loves going on vacation with is and the cabin was full of amenities, excellent location close to shopping but far enough to enjoy that peace and quite. The Host's was very responsive with communication, after booking we notice that our dates overlapped prior arrangements and I spoke with the hosts and had no issues switching the dates by one day in and out. I would highly recommend Willows cabin and will definitely be returning in the future.

Stayed May 19, 2026Willow Cabin is a neat as a pin two bed two bath cabin high on a bluff overlooking the Watauga River (no river access from the property). It is located in a quiet rural setting midway between Johnson City and Elizabethton, making it a good base to explore those small towns cities and surrounding NE Tennessee. The best feature of the cabin is a large covered porch overlooking the lazy river below. With many chairs , including a hanging chair, a large dinning table, and two ceiling fans, it is perfect place to relax.

Stayed May 14, 2026The cabin was very nice, clean and well appointed. The view was very tranquil. The only issue was no grass area for walking our dog. Just small patches. He would look over at the big adjoining grassy yard and fields, trying to go there, but could not. We had to drive to areas where we could walk him. High TVs we could not use, being seniors with neck issues.

Stayed Apr 15, 2026We found our home away from home when we visit Johnson City! We come to TN a few times a year to see family and this is our new spot! It’s so well thought out. Every need you have is met. All the details have been thought through from a clothes steamer, to fans, to extra blankets, etc! It’s a perfect layout. The back porch has full shade all day and is a perfect place for relaxing. The sound of the river running mixed with all the birds chirping is priceless. The fire pit has a great space to spread out. It feels very private and safe. It’s definitely clean and you feel like you’re somewhere special. The owners are great to work with and you can tell they put a lot of thought into building this cabin. It’s honestly perfect. We will be back!!

Stayed Mar 26, 2026Willow cabin was a perfect fit for us (3 adults and 1 dog). Located on ancestral property, we are so glad we have Watauga River Cabins as rental options when we are visiting “back home”. At the time of our 5 night stay the cabin had been recently built and almost everything in it was brand new. Sitting on somewhat of a cliff (caution necessary) overlooking a 90 degree bend of the Watauga river, the cabin must provide one of the best views of any publicly available rental cabin on the river. The sliding glass doors of the master bedroom rewards the early riser with the sights and sounds of nature. The view from the kitchen window encourages one to choose handwashing dishes even though the modern dishwasher is conveniently at hand. The views from the inside simply “demand” that occupants “live” on the full length covered back porch, which welcomes with an outdoor dining table to one end and plenty of comfortable seating options on the other. Take a good book and your morning coffee and you may be content there for the rest of the day. Just a few easy steps off the porch is the perfect campfire setting and a few more steps lead to a covered outdoor grill providing a glimpse of the century old site of the historic Smalling bridge just upstream from the cabin. Rolling pasture land in the distance offers a pleasant view from the living room windows and parking area. Access to the river was not available at the time of our stay. Area attractions are plentiful. Highly recommend!
