Stayed Aug 7, 2025Our family reunion went very well but most attendees expressed disappointment at the state of repair and cleanliness of the lodges. The lodge closest to the highway was spacious and served as our main meeting and food preparation site. (We prepared two full dinners and all breakfasts and lunches.) The front porch area was never used due to road noise which did not penetrate to the house. Recent incomplete painting work resulted in white paint chips littering the main entrance along with various tubs of paint or other products. The commercial kitchen was in general “greasy” and most of the wall mounted soap dispensers were empty. A few hand towels were provided but many more often were needed. The dishwasher leaked when running (we placed a pot to collect the drippings). The two coffee makers in the lower lodge did not work or required extensive fiddling to function nor did another brand we found in the kitchen. In both houses minor plumbing issues (slow running faucet and 2-3 nearly completely plugged bathroom sinks) greeted us. Some plumbing issues we solved on our own (faucet aerator repair) but many remain. Many battery powered clocks were not functioning. One leg on a bench was broken and unrepairable in the lower house. We requested but were refused early check in due to cold weather. The management company said this was a firm policy which along with your limitation in reply length seems not customer friendly.
