Stayed Sep 12, 2025Great time and wonderful location. Quiet...15-minute walk to town...we saw bear from the back patio. Owner is very responsive and accommodating. An upstairs shower would be a game-changer.

Stayed Aug 28, 2025This property was minutes away from town. It is very Rustic, quiet, bedding was very comfy and a nice bottle of wine was waiting for us when we arrived. We wanted something different for a change.

Stayed Jul 10, 2025First let me say, this is a very cute, nicely decorated “rustic” cabin. However, there was no WiFi or cell service in the home- we had to go into town to use our phones. There is no way to make emergency calls or receive messages. I spoke to the owner about this and she did confirm they were changing services this month; however, I would confirm that before renting if that is important to you. There was also a strong mold smell downstairs in the bathroom/bedroom. This home is very rustic as in it feels like you are going to camp which is charming if that’s what you are looking for! It is also well stocked with everything you need. If the few issues were addressed that we encountered then I think the experience would much improve.

Stayed Apr 25, 2025Everything about this cabin was quaint and great! The WiFi was very slow and you don’t have much service but it’s nice to unplug a little and enjoy the outdoors! Highly recommend!

Stayed Nov 27, 2024We had a wonderful Thanksgiving stay at this charming cabin! Our family of four felt right at home thanks to the incredibly comfortable beds and the cozy, rustic vibe of the house. The fireplace was a highlight for us, adding to the warm and welcoming atmosphere. The location couldn’t have been better—just a short drive to Highlands, making it so convenient to explore the area. We cooked our Thanksgiving meals here, and the kitchen worked out well. That said, if you're planning to do more extensive cooking, we’d recommend bringing your own spices and knives to make things a bit easier. A couple of things to note: the house is quite open, so sounds carry easily between rooms. This wasn’t an issue for us but could be something to keep in mind depending on your group. Also, it was quite chilly when we arrived, but the in-room heaters warmed things up nicely after a few minutes. Just be prepared for a little extra bundling up during fall or winter stays, as there’s no central heating/AC. Overall, we had such a great time and truly enjoyed our stay. We’d happily return and recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a cozy getaway near Highlands!

Stayed Aug 9, 2024Tripp's Cabin was such a delight and an amazing place to stay! It reminded me of being at Camp Greystone again which isn't too far from the Highlands. It was so easy to get to and super close to town!! Me and my fiance absolutely loved it and enjoyed getting out of town amidst wedding planning. It was so sweet of Carolina as well to have a branded bottle of wine waiting for us. Carolina also had recommendations for us in terms of where to go for food and drink. I would 10/10 recommend the cabin and look forward to coming back again soon!

Stayed Jun 4, 2024This property is very attractive online but the actual cabin is terrible! First of all, our rate quoted does not include all the junk fees. We could and will stay in first class hotels if we ever go back to Highlands. More importantly, the cabin was very uncomfortable. Someone in charge should actually spend a little time there to see what I mean. We had to leave after one night because the house was so mold ridden, my wife experienced a headache, a stomach ache, runny eyes and runny nose and all these symptoms vanished once we left the cabin and got in the car!!! We complained to the host and she was very responsive and re-did our stay to one night instead of two but VRBO refused to adjust bill accordingly. will NEVER use VRBO again!!!! I encourage all you you to do likewise! Finally, I found the cabin very unsuitable for senior citizens as the walkway from parking to the house was unstable and dangerous and the inside floors were uneven. Old people could easily trip and fall at this place.
