The Lookout at Mentone-log cabin with hot tub & amazing views!

We needed a weekend getaway from the every day hustle and bustle so we returned to The Lookout. We have been SEVERAL times and each visit is as pleasant as the first. You cannot find a place in Mentone with any better view of the sunset from the hot tub than this house.

The hot tub did not work, but they were there in less than 30 minutes and fixed it. This log cabin is beautifully decorated and comes with all the authentic features that a log cabin had back in the days. Creaking and out of level floors, low ceilings and stairwell.

The cabin was cozy, but the pictures were slightly deceiving on size of cabin. All in all, we enjoyed the peacefulness, view and not having anyone right next door. Some jack leg decided he was going to fire his weapon for about two hours on Saturday night so that killed the serenity of the hot tub. Not your fault at all, but it was frustrating. Thank you for allowing us to use your place.

The view was really great! We love the chairs on the deck! The cabin was cozy, quiet and very relaxing! We enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend!

The host was friendly and informative. The cabin has a beautiful view, and it is private. The cabin does need some TLC, and the cleaning needs more attention.

I Really like old structures and staying in the cabin looking at the old timbers was cool. The view is great. The back porch and front porch were great. They re-paved the road going to the cabin and that was nice. The wife really liked the cabin and wants to stay again. Cozy.

We needed a relaxing weekend getaway after the holidays and The Lookout was exactly that! Fantastic views and very well appointed. We'll be back!

This is a beautiful little cabin, set on a ridge with an excellent view of the valley below. The cabin is perfect for a couple to just relax and unwind. It is 4 miles from Mentone, but that is only a few minutes drive. And the restaurants in Mentone...delicious! But...make sure you have reservations at restaurants.

This sweet cozy cabin is our favorite in Menton! We have stayed here everytime we’ve came to visit and we plan to continue staying here again very soon. If you’re looking for a relaxing place to take a couples vacation or an anniversary getaway I highly recommend this cabin.

This is out third time to stay at The Lookout and will not be the last. The cozy cabin is perfect for two. We love the views and never miss watching the sunset from the back deck. We will be back again.

This was our fourth stay at The Lookout and it was just as amazing as the first. The view is remarkable. The cabin is adorable. It is the perfect place to unwind and get away for the weekend. We will be back.

Breath taking views and a charming cabin.

Quaint, cozy, and lovely cabin with modern conveniences. We had everything we needed! The deck and views were amazing! We enjoyed our stay-so peaceful and relaxing!

Highly recommend. Yes, it has the view you are hoping for and it’s absolutely amazing! Back deck is perfectly set up to enjoy the view and has the bonus of being fully enclosed allowing our dog to be unleashed. Deck has a dining table, charcoal grill, big porch swing, adirondack chairs and a hot tub. The cabin feels isolated. You don’t see or hear any other cabins. There are a couple cabins down the street but blocked by trees so you have total privacy. Close to the road but there is almost no traffic since the cabin is about 5 miles outside town in the opposite direction of the state park. Inside is nice and comfortable with all the modern amenities in good working order. Perfect couples retreat. We will be back.

Beautiful views!

Pictures can't really do the view and the property justice. It's really an incredible scene as you pull up, with a wrap around deck well appointed to enjoy it. The cabin is a great mix of modern where it makes sense (kitchen, bathroom, appliances) and rustic everywhere else - it's super charming while still being functional and practical. Another factor that is hard to get across in the photos is that it's very private! There are other rentals a couple hundred yards down the road, but you can't see or hear anyone else so it's quite peaceful. The hot tub was great (and hot on arrival), there were plenty of towels, kitchen supplies, and even sugar and cream for coffee. Very well appointed for this type of cabin rental, in my experience. Communication and check-in/out were all great, no friction no issues at all. The market and other shops in Mentone are barely a 5 minute drive down the ridge, and some really great trailheads are within about a 10 minute drive as well. This was our first time in Mentone, and it's hard to imagine a better first experience.

If you’re looking for an escape that offers breathtaking views, close vicinity to local attractions, quiet and relaxation, along with little touches like extra towels (for hot tub), cream & sweeteners, and fire roasting sticks for those smores you’re sure to crave, this is the getaway for you! Clean, comfy, and enjoyable. That’s all you need, right!? The rest of the adventure is up to you! Just book it.

The view is gorgeous when it's not foggy/rainy. Unfortunately two of the days we were there it was like that. But we did see it on the first day. The cabin is cozy and relaxing. There are neighbors, but they aren't very close and we couldn't see them, only could faintly hear them. It's far enough away from town where you feel alone with nature. The area is really nice and quiet.

This place sits high up the side of a mountain with gorgeous views! It was very peaceful and relaxing which is what we were wanting!

One of the most beautiful peaceful locations I’ve been able to spend time in. The owner 100% flexible super nice. Extremely relaxing had all the necessities that you needed. Amazing View! Very restful and on time

No complaints at all. Cute unit. Incredible view. Close to Mentone, DeSoto Falls and also Cloudland Canyon. Unit is clean and nice. Hot tub works and feels good. Fireplace is really nice and warms room. Had trouble with pilot going out and someone came very quickly and got it started. TV works well. Nicely furnished and some good books. King Bed and couches/chairs are comfortable. HVAC works. Kitchen stuff (stove, microwave, coffee maker) all work. 11 AM check out is nice. Good instructions, directions (exterior locks, TV, fireplace, WiFi, etc.) came a day before check in and made it easy. We would definitely stay again. A very nice place.

This was a beautiful stay. It was a bit drafty but sometimes you can't help that, especially with how old the cabin is. Just bring warm clothes if its going to be cold and windy. I can suffer a bit of cold for that view though. Beautiful!

My wife and I rode over for a two night stay and had a wonderful time. The view was incredible and the cabin was perfect. We look forward to coming back again!

'The Lookout' is a perfect spot for a couple's retreat. We affectionately call it the bubble and love coming out here to get away from absolutely everything. This was our second time staying at this property and I cannot recommend it more highly. The cabin has everything you need, the bed is sooooo comfy, and the porch, porch swing, and hot tub are just divine.

We had the BEST time visiting Mentone and The Lookout at Mentone was the PERFECT cabin. We had everything we needed and we were very comfortable. Holly was only a text away and answered all of our questions quickly. Will definitely be back!

Beautiful view hot tub was great great yard

We were blessed with four nights staying at this wonderful log cabin retreat perched on a bluff with the most gorgeous view. Just soaking up the view made me heave a deep relaxing sigh! My husband and I are working independent musicians and getting the chance to have some days off was so needed and a real treat. We mostly self-catered but did treat ourselves to a meal at one of the many fantastic restaurants in the area, we went for walks, and visited the lovely gift shops in downtown Mentone that are just minutes away. I highly recommend The Look Out at Mentone. The hot tub just iced the cake! We really relaxed and slept better than we had in ages! I hope to be able to visit and stay here again.

The first thing you notice, when walking into the cabin, is the view. The second thing you noticed is how efficient the space has been set up for guests. The third, and final thing, is the king size bed! There is very limited traffic on the road outside the cabin, making the hot tub a relaxing destination in the evening. Be sure to bring ALL of your sundries, as there are limited grocery options prior to arriving at the site. Since we are season travelers, we were prepared, but for a novice, make your grocery list and bring everything. We will definitely return, and recommend it for a future relaxation destination. PS the customer service and communication from the host agency was excellent!
