Sunset Ridge Cabin

Liked everything about it. We would've tried renting again next year but couple we split it with can't make it next year. Easy to get to Deadwood from they for Kool Deadwood Nights.

This was one of the most amazing cabins ever stayed in. It has a rustic appearance but all the amenities of a modern resort. It was absolutely delightful and accommodating.

We had decided we needed a quick vacation out of the hustle and bustle of the city and work. Sunset Ridge fit the bill. Hester was a great host, the cabin was clean and cozy. The trek up to the cabin is definitely out of the way but the gravel roads are well maintained. I wish it had been warmer so we could have used the fabulous deck more, but that's October in SD! Would definitely stay again.

Not as described, there was a main house which was mentioned but then there was a camper right below us. So not as “private” as expected

Amazing location quiet peaceful

Had a great time, property was very nice scenery was amazing from the front deck. The road to the property wasn’t very good if you’re riding motorcycles but ok for cars and pickups.

Great location

We very much enjoyed our stay at Sunset Ridge! The cabin and landscape are beautiful! The host was very helpful and answered questions quickly. One thing that was a bummer after we booked is that VRBO showed the location being 0.1 miles away from the main road and it was actually 5ish miles up a gravel road. Not a big deal had we not been on a motorcycle, but luckily the weather cooperates and it was still worth the trek.

Great cabin in a peaceful setting. Set on the deck and watched the lightning lighten the sky. Along with beautiful Sun sets. Great accommodations.

We loved our stay at Sunset Ridge! The views were amazing! The house/cabin was so homey and well laid out. We had everything we wanted and more. The patio was a nightly gathering spot to spend family time and enjoy the beautiful views. Thanks to hosts for the prompt communication too. Would definitely recommend.

We were a might nervous finding the property mainly because our GPS took us up the low maintenance road but we did find it and were very impressed. We will be back.

Very peaceful relaxing. Close to Lead Deadwood short drive to Rapid city. Very clean. It had everything we needed. We really enjoy the outside porch the view!! We saw deer and turkeys crossing the road every night. A deer came right up next to the house. I really liked having our own bathroom off the bedroom. Beautiful setup.

The cabin was clean and kitchen had everything we needed to eat meals in. The view from the deck was amazing and we spent mornings and evenings there watching and listening to wildlife.We would definitely stay here again

We loved our week stay at Sunset Ridge. We found the cabin to be very clean and it had all of the essentials we needed. Each bedroom had its own bathroom, so it was convenient for two couples to stay and have their own privacy. We especially loved the covered deck and the access to the garage to park our UTVs. The driveway was an incline but we had no trouble getting our truck and enclosed trailer parked. We rode our SxSs several days, taking in sights such as Spearfish Canyon and the peaks of Custer, Cement Ridge and Terry. Also, Mt. Rushmore and the Visitor(Sanford Lab) Center in Lead are a must see. We even met Hester at her pottery booth in Deadwood during Wild Bill Days! She made sure we had everything we needed. We will definitely stay at this property if we travel to this area again!!

The property was great. The setting was awesome. Very clean and well stocked kitchen with all we needed to cook. We came out to ride side x side on trails and enjoyed the area. Went to MT Rushmore and a few other sites. Beautiful area. Definitely will be back.

We loved sitting on deck in morning with coffee listening to the turkeys gobble and in the evening watching the sunset and listening to turkeys. We saw a deer one morning. The kitchen was fully equipped. Wish it had been cooler for fireplace. Would definitely recommend this property and would come back.

My wife and I stayed at this property for nine evenings. I am not sure where to start because words fall so short of our experience/ To begin with, after years of staying in the Black Hills, we have finally found our forever cabin. I honestly cannot imagine ever finding a place that so completely met our needs and, more importantly, our wants. As working professionals, our goal when we stay in the Black Hills is to just be. Our lives are so pressure-packed and harried that we use this time every year to decompress and reconnect with each other and nature. The cabin is located in a remote area of the Black Hills yet still offers all of the conveniences of modern life that we have become accustomed to and depend upon, such as 2G Wi-Fi. The cabin itself is beautifully appointed and has all of the amenities that one would expect from such a high-end property. Oh, if we could only afford to own it, we would never leave! Suffice it to say, we sought serenity and got it in spades. We have already booked our trip back to the cabin for 2025. Leaving a 5-star review doesn't do our experience justice. On a scale of 1-10, it's one in a million!

Property and views were stunning! So quiet and peaceful. The deck was a favorite location after riding the trails all day, and having the garage for our side by sides was an added plus. Hester was a very gracious host, easy to communicate with, and keeps a very clean property. You won’t go wrong in choosing Hester’s Sunset Ridge for your stay.

We loved our stay at sunset ridge. The deck had spectacular views. The cabin was very cozy and had everything needed for a comfortable stay. It was a quiet area and we saw alot of deer roaming the woods. Loved it.

We loved our stay!! We rode our UTV’s 300+ miles out of your location. The days of riding were all different and fun to see the different landscaping and a ton of wildlife. We had the chance to see: 5 cow and 1bull ELK, coyote, turkeys, whitetail deer, mule deer, and other little critters! The location is close to restaurants in Lead and Deadwood. We will be returning in the future, Thanks for sharing your get away!

The cabin is modern and convenient, but also quaint. The cabin theme is classy and appropriate, not gawdy. Access to the cabin was easy, and the nearby road didn't have heavy traffic, so our solitude wasn't interrupted by streams of ATVs. Great location. Great cabin. We will book again!

Awesome cabin in the woods up on a mountain top quiet and very clean and comfortable. Definitely a 5 star stay the host is wonderful to talk with. My wife and I had great stay!!

Our stay was wonderful! Gorgeous views, very clean, comfortable beds. Host was very responsive. Check in/out was a breeze. We came for the Sturgis rally. Gravel roads leading to the house are pretty compacted. The actual house road and the driveway to the house were a little looser but manageable with extra caution. It was nice to get away from the crowds and craziness at the end of the day and enjoy the serenity and the sunset view.

My family of four needed a get away weekend and this place and area provided that for us.
