This is the property to rest and renew. The Lake is the tourist attraction. 30 - 40 minutes away are other things to incorporate on your stay such as antiques & museums, If you bike, hike, or kayak, there is no better place to be The sunsets are incredible and the view are not to be matched. My wife and I have been to all 5 great lakes and this cabin was our favorite.

We stayed 7 days in August and it was perfect. It was a peaceful and quiet location, we saw lots of deer, and the bird watching was great! We checked out some of the nearby parks and it’s an easy drive to Marquette.

Great stay. Cabin was beautiful and roomy. The view here is everything. Each day of our week stay brought different weather and lake conditions. Master bedroom is upstairs and the bathroom downstairs, just a note for those up often. The owner was very open with this before we booked. The kitchen was easy to cook in and had all the needed pots pans etc. Who would have thought we would have wanted a fire in the fireplace in July, but with a couple days of rain and temps in the 50's it made it so enjoyable to be inside. It was one of our favorite parts and Dave keeps wood onsite which is so nice.On the warm days there are trees great for a hammock, if you pack one, I did. The deck was wonderful to sit and grill while looking at the lake. There is one neighbor next door and they were very friendly and quiet so no concern. Wildlife is around, we saw so many deer, a bald eagle, lots of rabbits, birds, ducks, chipmunks etc. The little town of Big Bay is charming. We mostly cooked at home but did eat out at both restaurants and the food was excellent. Don't miss the ice cream place either. We may have gone 4 of 7 nights.Great stay, loved the cabin and area. We would definitely book here again.

Our family of 6 had a great stay at Dave's cabin. The cabin and location we're picture perfect with all the amenities. My husband broke his ankle the week prior to our one week vacation. I was so close to canceling and taking the loss but man are we so happy we didn't! We had campfires , swam, explored, fished and more. We would love to come back to visit again soon.

This was our second time staying here and we look forward to coming back again to this peaceful, beautiful place. It’s just a 30min drive into Marquette, a charming place to walk around, shop, and eat. But we really came back to recharge in the quiet - the walks, listening to the loons, the amazing sunsets, etc. The patio, porch, and living room all provide comfort and great views. We made almost all of our meals in and the kitchen had everything we needed. Highly recommend sleeping up in the loft bedroom to enjoy the sunrise/sunset.

We had a wonderful week in a wonderful cabin. Enjoyed beautiful fall colors along our daily walks right outside our cabin door. Weather was a nice bonus with temperatures at least 70 degrees for the first four days, then more seasonal temps. Enjoyed hiking at Presque Isle park and exploring some of the surrounding areas. Had mostly home cooked meals but also went to the Lumberjack Bar and Thunder Bay Inn in Big Bay, both of which were very good. Dave’s cabin is, by far, the most well stocked cabin we have been in. Appreciated the supplies of paper goods and kitchen utensils. Loved the cabin itself, used the fireplace a few times, enjoyed the deck and outdoor grill and of course the great views. We spent a lot of time just hanging out at the cabin and it was wonderful! There is a very nice loft bedroom area but we were not fans of the staircase leading up to it. We chose to stay in the first floor bedroom which was perfectly nice and comfortable and more convenient to the one bathroom which is on the first floor. The furniture was all fine but felt maybe it was time for a different sofa, a little saggy to sit in. Overall, we couldn’t have been happier with this cabin and would definitely come back again!! Thanks Dave for making your cabin available for us to enjoy!

Staying on the shore of Lake Superior was an awesome experience. We were able to just sit and watch the waves roll in or on a calm day, we went kayaking. There are lots of hiking trails within a short drive towards Marquette too. The neighborhood is secluded and quiet. A great place to go for some relaxation!
