REG #3539 Please read our cancellation policy before booking. Purchase insurance for any unforeseen issues. NO PETS. Please note that this property does NOT have AC. However, we do have fans and the evening temps are usually in the 50's. Sit and enjoy your coffee while gazing at Longs Peak and the range. This small studio cabin was built in the early 1900's for a family member of the Taylors, so expect the vintage charm. (Very small, 300 sq. ft.) For the young and young at heart. Ready to get out, just take our private steps that lead to the center of downtown to shop and grab some dinner. No need to fight the traffic. Rocky Mountain National Park is a short drive to the entrance. The Nutshell is a studio cabin for 1 person, bathroom has shower & it has a studio kitchenette. It is possible 2 people could stay, but we do not guarantee the functionality of the trundle bed and it will be very tight. You can sit outside on the deck overlooking downtown Estes Park & the Front Range. It includes Free Wireless Internet , Internet TV, deck, off-street parking and it has engineered wood floor and vinyl. There is a SHARED hot tub & laundry room right next to the cabin. Requires 2 min night stay. There is parking for one vehicle. The area is tight, so NO RV's, trailers and very large vehicles. There is also a steep hill leading down to the parking. We have snow removal, but if you get stuck removal is at your own expense.
If The Nutshell doesn't work for you check out our other cabins listed on VRBO:

I loved the location and views from the property. It was a cozy cabin for one or two people. The only concern I had was the issue with the heat not working nor was the security lights above the hottub working. Overall loved my stay

I loved the view from the cabin of the Rocky Mountains. The hot tub was the best thing about this rental, with the same view and a nice deck to eat on, IF no one is renting the shared bigger house about 3 feet away from the Nutshell. Pay attention to the description, the floor is very much slanted, so much that my suitcase rolled from side to side of the house . The bed needs to be replaced; it's an iron trundle bed that is also slanted because of the floor, which makes it not very comfortable. Lots of people walk up and down the hill so privacy is just not there, and the downtown area gets VERY noisy on weekends. Blackout drapes would be a good suggestion; the light comes in from the downtown area at night. BUT for the cost, its affordable to stay longer. The host was responsive and helpful. Loved seeing the visiting Elk. Stairs directly to the downtown were useful to just take a walk by the river, eat, or shop.

It's our 3rd time in this cottage and it gets better everytime. This time we knew to bring zip ties to hold the two twin beds together which actually made a king size bed that we just lounged on when we were relaxing. There was still enough room to pass by. The only change we'd make is a bigger coffee pot and a bigger fan . Otherwise it's easy to get all over town from this cottage! And yet far enough that the noise from town doesn't bother you.

If you don’t mind living on a slant it is fine. Appears to be sliding down the hill. Very small, do not stay there is 6’ and 200lbs. Definitely for only one person. Especially if you don’t want to end your marriage.

Super location. I walked down the stairs and was in the middle of town. Shops, restaurants and a couple parks. RMNP just a short drive. I brought food and clothes, the dishes, towels, and even washer and dryer were available on site. If you want to bring more people they have cabins for families

I liked the place but the bathroom needs repair. I understand that there is limited space but the floor slants to the small kitchen and the shower does not block water due to the very small floor lip so I need to wipe up the floor in the bathroom and in the kitchen for a very short shower.

We enjoyed our stay here for a weekend. However the hot tub was absolutely disgusting, low water, trash floating around, stinky. We didn’t get it, but the cabin next door parties both nights in it, loudly, so that could have been the reason behind that. Overall a cute place though.

This little cabin was absolutely perfect. Views were stunning, we ate breakfast while looking at the continental divide, took a few steps and were on the main drag of downtown Estes Park. I would highly recommend this stay to any couple. I know we will be back next year ourselves.

Check in was rough the intro email was buried in trash or junk folder and need email address LT TAYLOR to retrieve. Very small cabin but served our needs, up very early and hiking everyday. Bit tricky figuring out how to prepare and cook food in a tiny kitchen but we did. Bathroom not for larger people tiny. Definitely not typical but what we expected and would rent here again.
