Stone Lodge-Panoramic Views, Lots of Space!

Beautiful home… AMAZING views!!

The view out the windows and off of the gorgeous wrap-around deck, is unparallelled. Breathtaking skies & mountains. Very private & peaceful, at the end of a road, the last stretch of which you would want AWD or 4WD. You are up so high, you can see forever out the huge windows, yet you are surrounded by forest. There is a VERY cool trail RIGHT by the house. Plenty of space, several conversation areas for smaller groups to hang out. A desk tucked over upstairs in front of a giant window with a gorgeous view. The kitchen is GREAT! Finally, a kitchen in a cabin that professes to be stocked for large groups, and actually IS! So many plates, bowls, steak knives, silverware, cooking utensils, baking bowls, saucepans, soup pots, serving dishes/platters, glasses, coffee mugs, you name it, there's lots of it. We had our Easter feast and lacked nothing. Dishwasher is silent. Large dining room table where we played games, plus extra seating on the island in the kitchen. Beds & pillows were super comfy. Our grandkids don't really play video games, but the cabin had an old school Sega Genesis system hooked up, and they had great fun playing that. We couldn't get the DVD player to work, but I'm sure they'll fix that for the next guests. We had 10 in our party from ages 1-87, this place was great for all. Would rent it again. Didn't have any communication with the host during our stay, because everything was good! Directions, getting into the house, all very clear.

The Stone Lodge was absolutely beautiful! If you are looking for a place that is isolated, yet close to civilization this is is it! The google map photos do not give justice to just how magical the forestry road is to the cabin. It literally feels like you are leaving and heading to a magical place. The sunrises and sunsets? Breathtaking! We saw wildlife daily! Comfortable beds, dreamy fireplace, washer and dryers on each floor (the listing has top loaders, they have been replaced with front loads, plenty of space, access to the lower level by car so if you bring any older folk like we did, there's no need for stair climbing...perfect for our 10 year anniversary! Anne was absolutely amazing to work with and just a phone call away. But, with perfection comes imperfections. I do not think this places gets a lot of traffic (which is what we wanted), but there we a lot of dead and dying flies in the upper bedrooms upon arrival, which for us country people was not a big deal, but it might bother others. The hand-hewn wood stairs are slippery! Don't go running up and down in socks. No shoes allowed in the cabin so bring some house shoes. The racks in the stove do not fit and had been finagled before us, we managed to make it work because our group does an a lot of in house cooking...but that should be addressed/replaced. Would stay here again and and again and again! Thank you!!

Our annual family trip to the hills did not disappoint. This cabin was an excellent choice for our family of 14. We all had plenty of space to sleep and visit. The view was perfect, even when the low clouds came in. Cabin was stocked with the necessities we needed. Would recommend trying this cabin out during your Black Hills adventures!!

Beautiful log cabin with great views. We had 10 people and all had their own beds with beds to spare.

It was spacious and well appointed. We replaced the coffee maker for Anne as it had been broken prior to our arrival. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Excellent location … large nice home

The view is amazing. The house is nice and big. The kitchen was very well equipped. Only challenge was light bulbs out, trash not picked up, no propane tank for the grill.

The property was stunning and exceeded expectations. This is incredibly well maintained and the pictures did not do it justice. Our group was very pleased with the amenities and condition of the cabin, everything was spotless and comfortable. We had an amazing time and would ABSOLUTELY recommend!
