The house layout is so cool. There is an Independant apartment with all the amenities where we had two big families stay for almost a week. We had our own space when we wanted to relax as well as big rooms for us to enjoy together. Beautiful property with a gorgeous view. The fire place in the middle of the room was a huge hit for the entire group. Pool table was used non-stop.

This is a nice place that worked great for our group of ten. You do have to take some gravel to the cabin and the road was very bumpy in a few spots (no fault of cabin owners - just a heads up). The cabin had enough space that we all didn’t feel like we were on top of each other. The inside of the main cabin is a little dated and dingy. The kitchen was stocked with plates, silverware and pans but no Tupperware, foil, Saran Wrap or other basic kitchen items. Plenty of spices. The beds were ok - not the most comfortable but a place to sleep. The biggest issue with the bedrooms is there are no blinds or curtains on any windows/doors. It would be nice to be able to sleep in while on vacation. The sun also sets into the big windows into great room and it would have been nice to have something to pull down to keep the area cooler. Bedding and towels were clean. Lots of cobwebs around cabin, I walked through several upon our arrival. I’m not sure exactly how thoroughly surfaces and floors were cleaned but it wasn’t bad enough for us to complain, just noticeable. The power went out in a bedroom & one area of the kitchen in the main house and also went out in the smaller cabin (friends CPAP machine quit working). We had fun playing pool, darts, and sitting at the large table for dinners and games. Decent amount of seating on deck. Overall the space worked great for our group. It would be nice to see some updates to the home, but it is also currently for sale. Great views.

First, I will say that you cannot beat this place for the price. It was exactly what we wanted. The seclusion it offered was spot on. It was pleasurable to sit on the massive back deck and hear absolutely nothing. We loved the large shower in the master bath and the water pressure at the residence was amazing. The accommodations at the home were plentiful. If there is anything pot or pan wise that you normally use and think you can’t live without yours then bring it.On more than one occasion we saw mule deer and moose within 30’ of the house. On two different occasions it snowed…that was something we enjoyed for sure.Any questions we had before our arrival and during the stay were quickly answered by the host. This was our first time to ever visit Colorado and I would say it exceeded our expectations. If you are looking for somewhere away from the hustle and bustle of life, and love the thought of being off paved roads then this should be your next destination. Bottom line…we lived it.

Beautiful 'cabin' mansion in the mountains. The view was incrediable! The cabin was awesome. The lighting is a little tricky. Some switches were hard to find. It took a little getting used to the high altitude, we are from 550' and going to over 10,000' where there is thin air was an experience. We would have liked more snow, but no one can control mother nature.

The house has great views that pictures don’t do justice. We also saw a moose the first morning we woke up. Very quiet and remote and would stay again if in the area.

Our stay at the cabin was truly unforgettable! The property boasts breathtaking views and provides the perfect setting for a relaxing family getaway. It's ideal for anyone looking to recharge away from the hustle and bustle. While we thoroughly enjoyed our time, there were a few maintenance issues that could be addressed. Some of the light bulbs were out in the kitchen and master bedroom, which was a bit inconvenient. Additionally, there seemed to be a transition happening with the televisions; most had been removed, and we had to improvise with the cords from the small cabin to get one set up in the main area. This wasn't reflected in the listing photos, so it was a bit unexpected. One other minor issue was with the grill. Unfortunately, it didn't light up, possibly due to the cold weather affecting the gas pressure. It might be worth considering storing it in a warmer spot for future guests.Despite these small issues, I would still highly recommend this cabin for its stunning location and peaceful atmosphere. It's a perfect retreat for families or anyone seeking solitude amidst nature.

My family wanted to see snow for our yearly family vacation. I knew our chances of seeing snow were greater with a higher altitude. This location did not disappoint. We visited from December 7th thru 13th. The drive to the home was breathtaking (not just because of the altitude). The snow had everything covered and was exactly what my little girl wanted. The road was long and winding. 4wd or equivalent was necessary. I also suggest arriving during daylight hours. Because of the snow, the driveways and ditches are hard to identify. The home is secluded in the woods with plenty of yard space to play in the snow. Entry was a breeze with great instructions from the host. The lodge is three stories. We are from Mississippi so climbing the stairs to the main bedroom on the 3rd floor was hard for me. I decided to sleep on the bottom floor. I personally thought these rooms were warmer too. The second floor did not disappoint with the huge picture windows. I sat in the living room and stared at the mountains for most of our down time. The fireplace was very interesting. We bought wood from the local grocery store in Fairplay. The fire did a great job keeping this level comfortable. The host left plenty of games in the closet for family time. We mostly played pool. This was my daughters first encounter with a pool table and she caught on quickly. The cabin was perfect. Although the views were better from the lodge, the cabin is cozier. We did not stay in the cabin. Perfect vaca.

Overall, my guests and I had an amazing experience at the lodge. There was plenty of room for 7 people and it has basically everything you would need to have a comfortable stay. The views are incredible looking out over the deck to Mt. Bross, Mt. Democrat, and Mt. Buckskin among others. The pool table was one of the highlights of our stay, but the pool cues could use some maintenance. The cabin stays very warm in the winter, especially when using the central fireplace. The hot tub was great, but it felt a little small with more than 2 people in it. There were a few minor issues we had, like the indoor speaker system being disabled, the bed pillows not having much cushion, and the dart board being plastic and difficult to use. The woods around the lodge are beautiful but it isn't clear where the property lines are so we didn't venture too far in the snow. I would definitely come back here, but I also think some small upgrades would go a long way to making this place perfect.

We gathered from four different parts of the country to celebrate a milestone birthday. The location and view were spectacular and the property had a lot to offer. The owner quickly responded to any concerns we had. Check in and communication beforehand was very efficient. There are a few things that need to be updated in the cabin such as towels and some of the cookware, but overall you won’t be disappointed renting this cabin.
