Summary:

Discover Skyland Hideaway, a cozy mountain retreat tucked in the Blue Mountains of Virginia. Relax by the electric fireplace, cook in the well-equipped kitchen, or unwind outdoors with a grill, hot tub, and fire table. Perfect for couples, families, and small groups looking for nature, comfort, and connection—with hiking trails, wineries, and scenic drives all nearby.

The Space:

Our properties are designed to bring couples, families, and small groups together to enjoy time away from home while maintaining access to familiar amenities and comforts. Skyland Hideaway takes its name from the surrounding mountain community, but highlights the opportunity to enjoy spending time with your loved ones while adjacent to deer, birds, and other wildlife that also call the community home.

The cabin features a cozy living room centered around a large stone fireplace (recently converted to an electric insert). A 65 Smart TV provides the opportunity to bring along your favorite streaming account and catch up on the latest tv and movie blockbusters. In the nearby kitchen and dining room, you'll find stainless steel appliances, a full Keurig Coffee bar, and plenty of culinary amenities to create and share any type of cuisine.

The cabin also features three bedrooms: a large primary suite will king bed, adjustable standing deck, plenty of closet space, and a full bathroom; a second large bedroom with queen bed, and a third smaller bedroom with full double bed and access to full-sized washer and dryer.

The back porch is certainly a draw for most guests and features a propane BBQ grill, outdoor dining, propane fireplace, and plenty of seating for the group. Around the side of the cabin, you'll find a hot tub and backyard for your group to enjoy. Bird watchers will love spotting more than 55 bird species that make their home in the Blue Mountains.

Guest Access:

Guests will have full access to the cabin and yard, but will not have access to the locked workshop area (separate structure).

The Neighborhood:

Skyland Hideaway sits within Skyland Estates, a quiet mountain community in Virginia’s Blue Ridge region. The neighborhood blends full-time residents, second homes, and a few thoughtfully managed vacation rentals. It’s peaceful and welcoming—close enough to explore nearby wineries, trails, and small towns, yet tucked just far enough away to feel truly private.

Getting Around:

While we encourage you to take a stroll using the mountain roads, a vehicle will be required to reach nearby attractions. The property can accommodate up to three vehicles in the driveway.

Other Things to Note:

We just stayed at SkyLand The house was clean, comfortable and welcoming. Matt is a great host Very responsive. The hot tub needed more water...no big deal. The beds were comfy and the coffee much appreciated upon arrival. Definitely wanna stay again.

The property was excellent, very clean and wonderful space. Comfortable beds and bedding. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything needed for cooking. The deck was huge and a great place to hang out. Nice and quiet at night, the landscaping is really well done so that even though you have neighbors you can't see them at all when you're on the deck. Great location close to several wineries. Really nice host - he went above and beyond on several things when he didn't have to but it was truly appreciated.

We arrived after dark, the property and driveway are on inclines & declines, there weren’t any outside lights on when we arrived so it was challenging to get from the car to the front door in the dark. Once inside we were able to turn the inside lights on but not the front porch light or pathway lights. Messaged property manager and he remotely adjusted the front pathway lights to come on after dark however the porch light over the front door never came on. The property is spacious, very clean and well furnished with household items. Only a couple of minor issues - the AC & heating system was not functioning properly so it was chilly in the mornings (we stayed late May early June), and the counter top in the master bedroom bathroom looked like old Formica with a sealer that was peeling.Overall we were comfortable and enjoyed our stay.

This property served our needs perfectly. While secluded in the mountains, the proximity to local wineries was excellent. Bonus points for the hot tub!

This was a cute getaway for our family. It was clean, had extras like coffee, cereal etc.. it had seasonal decorations, a nice porch and a deer that bedded don for the evening in the back yard. The bedrooms were separate from the kitchen and living area which was nice. You can tell by hr owner tried to make it special. And it was. Thank you.

This is a nice house just north of Linden, VA. The host was responsive to my emails. We had no problems with getting in or with the house in general. The house is heated and cooled with mini-splits. There were auxiliary space heaters in each of the room except the bathrooms. There was plenty of fire wood. The kitchen appliances were quite new and worked well. The fireplace was a bit smoky at times. We enjoyed our Christmas week at this house.

We had a great stay. The house is well stocked with all you need but if you do everything is within a short drive. The drive to the cabin is steep and curvy but the roads are well maintained. We had a 4WD but was not needed. We did a day trip each day we were there so the location is central to many places which is why we chose it. Thank you for a great stay.
