Serene Lakeside Cottage with Stunning Sunsets, Just Minutes from Charlevoix!

The place is a beautiful retreat on the shore of Lake Michigan. Spending time by the fire on cool autumn nights was so peaceful and relaxing. The place was spotless and roomy, wish we could have stayed another three weeks!

I decided the surprise my wife for a three night getaway for her birthday. Wtth less than aweek to find a property in one of Michigan’s most popular tourist ateaThe area that she loves is in the Charlebois area, but with a short notice, there were very few properties available with sunset views on Grand Traverse Bay. grand Trevorwth at the last minute tchange of scenery and selected this propertOur first thought on arrival was trying to go back in time and think about when this cottage was built in 1900 on a bluff overlooking Space when you step inside you feel like you’re walking in to a movie set with the car was done so tastefully everywhere you look it brings back old memories complete with an Elmer Fudd hat hanging on the coat rack. there were only two of us. The kitchen was small, but perfect for our use the view from the glass in family room or sunroom is breathtaking. The sunset I’m sure are absolutely amazing as well, but unfortunately, we were looking at highly overcast skies with rain the days we were thereu’re kind of reluctant to open them up to let in fresh air coming off the lake for fear of some little critters coming in as well they were areas, dust buddies, under beds and differenty. Very cozy and relaxing stay. Just what we were looking for.

Over priced. No air conditioning. Stony beach advertised but lack of air conditioning not mentioned. Quality of the beds is lacking. Too much clutter in the house. Outside grounds not maintained. Poor parking space. Light bulb burnt out. Found fault initially kept lamps off.

Reviewer Comments: This log cabin, which is comfortably furnished and has authentic decor from the last century to add to the ambience, was the perfect place for an extended getaway. It literally had everything what needs. The description and pictures on VRBO or accurate and the cabin seemed even better than those! It is located right on Lake Michigan in the town of Norwood, which is about 9 miles south of Charlevoix. It is located on a road, which ultimately dead ends. That made it great for privacy, walking, and seeing dear up close. We could not have asked for a better experience. The rental company was very helpful. At one point, a repair man needed access to fix the heating system and they worked around our schedule. Lots of communication. It was a wonderful experience all the way around!

While this cabin/lake home has a somewhat rustic charm, it is in desperate need of a deep cleaning. We were disappointed as the cabin didn’t meet our expectations given the rental description. However, on a positive note, the managing company was very communicative.

It was a bit old, if you have any back issues, possibly bring a topper. Everything else was amazing and exactly what we were looking for!

Privacy. Gorgeous beach, particularly for rock collectors. House was as advertised- homey, comfortable with fantastic views of the lake.

It was an absolute delight to stay at this beautiful log cabin on Lake Michigan. The house has a lot of character and a truly serene view of the lake. It was so nice to open the windows, let the cool breeze come through, and listen to the waves. It made for excellent sleeping conditions, even in the upstairs bedroom without A/C. Our 5 week old even slept through the whole night! The house is also conveniently located just a few mins from Biers and Lost Cellars, and 15 mins from downtown Charlevoix. There’s plenty to do in the area, but I wish we had stayed several more days just to enjoy the home.
