Stayed Mar 27, 2026This cabin nailed it—it was perfect. Everything matched the description, the space was well furnished, and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook without any fuss. The beds were incredibly comfortable. The screened-in porch was awesome our for morning coffee and evening unwinding. And our corgi, Ellie, discovered her new favorite entertainment: cow-watching. She was completely fascinated. Easy, relaxing, and way too enjoyable to leave—we’d come back in a heartbeat.

Stayed Apr 8, 2026This cabin was even better than the pictures! The property is surrounded by cow pasture so we got to see them up close and personal which was a nice surprise. The property is so charming. The cabin itself is rustic and so charming with floors that slope and old doors that creak in the best way. The kitchen has a working stove, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, and toaster as well as many ingredients ready to use for cooking. We were able to cook fresh biscuits and sausage each morning without issue. We also used the fire pit each night for roasting s'mores. The gazebo next to the fire pit has cafe lights you can turn on which add a pleasant touch. The beds were all very comfortable and well appointed with fluffy duvets and pillows. The location was also great because it felt secluded yet was close enough to restaurants and amenities as well as lots of parks, waterfalls, and hiking trails. We had the best time making memories with our girls and our dog loved it too! We highly recommend a stay here!

Stayed Apr 5, 2026The cabin is overall a step back in time. It has a lot of old rustic charm with the uneven floors made of plywood and antique furnishings. Kitchen has been upgraded to modern appliances and very well stocked Our biggest issue was our main goal was to get away from life, spend time together and chill out and relax for a couple days watching movies. The TV would not connect to Wi-Fi so we had to use our phone hotspots the whole time. Luckily my husbands worked as I could not even get my hotspot to work on it. They offered to bring us a new tv but not till late in the day on our last day there. At that point we had found a work around. If you need a reliable internet this we would not serve you well. It’s quiet and peaceful but was not able to serve our goal in being there. Management was very responsive.

Stayed Mar 20, 2026Great location! Close to many attractions, but also peaceful and surrounded with nature and beautiful place to view the night sky and stars. Favorite spots were the dining room and the screened in back porch.Host was exceptionally responsive and helpful throughout our stay.Visited beautiful Amicalola Falls, toured Consolidated Gold Mine, DeSoto Falls and enjoyed Dahlonega’s town square. Great food and coffee!

Stayed Mar 12, 2026If I could rate this less than one star I would give it negatives. There was clear evidence of a mouse in the home. A mouse nest in one bed and mouse poop in another bed. Mouse feces in the kitchen. The pictures are not a clear depiction of the property. I understand it is rustic, but I don’t understand how it could be a VRBO approved property used for any inhabitants.

Stayed Feb 25, 2026The host was fabulous. Never needed to contact them for any issues but they were there by text within minutes of me reaching out to them for directions, things to do in the area and to say goodbye. The house was great and transported you back to a time that you read about in history. Would love the chance to stay there again.

Stayed Feb 5, 2026We had stayed at this site a few months earlier when the weather temperature wasnt an issue. Because of the nature of the type of cabin structure , we had some difficulty getting the inside comfy. (Outside temps in the low 20s). The host coordinated with us and we were able to enjoy our long weekend.

Stayed Jan 19, 2026Excellent communication. Cabin was perfect. We were very comfortable and had a lot of fun leaping into the very tall comfortable beds. We loved the heated blankets. We were able to enjoy the cows next door who were very vocal with us. the deer running through the neighboring property were fun to watch. We were able to get to the local Walmart in 13 minutes and that's with me driving very slow as I am not accustomed to driving in mountain areas. the town had a lot to offer. The fire pit outside was great and we enjoyed plenty of time on the front patio. Very charming rustic and a good time.

Stayed Dec 26, 2025Long post. The picture were exactly as the cabin appeared. Overall it served its purpose. However, I believe this cabin is managed by a management company and not the owners. Reason I say this? Well as a business owner I feel they failed their customer. First night there, we had a bat in the home which in return bit me and forced me to the ER where I began rabies treatment. There was an awful sewage smell and when it was brought to the attention of the company we where told it's an old home and they would monitor it. We were forced to smell this the entire time. Washing machine leaked the entire time and you could tell where it had been leaking for awhile. The second day we cooked breakfast and dinner at the cabin. While retrieving utincels from the drawers there was an extensive amount of rat droppings. We cleaned them up and cleaned all silverware and proceeded on. Chimney access where not sealed very good which is where we heard some bats on the last night. All in all I feel the management company, (if it's managed by one) has failed the owners of the property and their guest. As a business owner I feel it's our job to check the quality of work being performed by the hired hand. I think they failed to make an attempt to inspect a potential problem with the sewage. We were told it's an old house and basically it is what is. I own a house from the 1890's and being it has a crawl space it's very easy to maintain proper plumbing and p-traps. Far from that it was good

Stayed Nov 5, 2025We loved the rustic cabin. The sleeping, dining and parking were first class. Everything was as advertised so we all had a wonderful stay. The only suggestion is to add additional lighting in the kitchen area. Also adding a power strip in the bedrooms would be nice as the existing outlets are difficult to access. These did not diminish our enjoyment of our stay,

Stayed Oct 16, 2025Great Place to experience pre 1900s living. My daughter-in-law brought a Meter that measures energy (Ghosts) it pretty much Lit up in every room. Not surprising as old as the house is. Though it raised an eye brow. And if they were real they were friendly. No midnight encounters. The outdoor gazebo BBQ pit was awesome. The overall look of the place reminded me of the Ponderosa ranch house on Banana. So 5 star review from me

Stayed Aug 17, 2025This place is a gem, very peaceful and quiet, yet close to Dahlonega and all of the wonderful things to do in North Georgia. You truly feel like you have stepped back in time but with comfy beds. If you like waking up to the smell of bacon frying and coffee brewing, then you will love this historical old cabin. And that screened porch with the bed swing is the perfect place to spend a quiet afternoon with a good book! There is a claw foot tub for soaking and the kitchen has all of the basics. If you like modern and pristine, this place is not for you. However, if you appreciate a rambling, serene and picturesque getaway, I think you will enjoy your stay!

Stayed Jun 20, 2025We live in Cumming but this was my Son’s Wedding weekend. And we needed to be close to Wolf Mountain Winery. For all of the pre-wedding & weddings festivities. This cabin was absolutely beautiful. I have never seen anything like it before. We absolutely loved it. We just wish we would have been able to spend more time in it. I would love to stay again. The pictures do not do the cabin justice. There is a huge screened in porch. And a very nice outside area with a fire pit. And a covered pull through or parking at the side door to the screened in piece. This cabin was very rustic. Beautiful and so much space. I highly recommend this cabin. And the host was amazing. And always responded back quickly.

Stayed Jun 12, 2025Heaven! Absolutely a divine, cozy, very happy place to be. An entrance sign reads “Happiness begins here” and it is so fitting. It was a trip back in time with energy that did make you happy. It’s the simple things that matter. We foraged, painted, lounged, read, cooked meals made for queens with very simple ingredients. It was very lovely. I found my forever happy place and will visit as long as I’m living and available. I wanted to decorate and we did decorate while we were there. This Porter Springs Farm cabin is very special. It is my new happy place! See you soon!

Stayed Mar 13, 2025Overall the cabin was exactly as advertised. We had a few hiccups upon check-in. The cleaning crew left all the dirty dishes in the sink that we had to wash. The power had gone out and we had to turn the breakers back on because the repair company didn’t. The owner apologized for the multiple inconveniences, but did not offer any sort of reimbursement or partial credit for the trouble. I would have at least offer a gift card for a dinner out on them. We did love the location The swing and the porch were amazing and the historical furnishings were wonderful. Would stay again! and the

Stayed Dec 28, 2024We really enjoyed our 6 night stay in this cabin over the New Year. We were very happy and intrigued by the cabin’s history and décor. Thank you for decorating every room for the holidays – that extra touch means a lot. The location was about 15 minutes from downtown Dahlonega and we loved this little town. The communication was quick and polite. Our family of 4 (one 14 year old girl and one 12 year old boy) had plenty of room. Some things that were extra special for us – the cows feeding right next door, the cast iron pans, the firepit, having some kitchen supplies (like olive oil/sugar), the comfortable bedding/extra blankets, the carport, the old benches on the porch, hearing the cows in the morning, a variety of birds in the yard, having a clean grill, the etched wine glasses, the holiday décor, and the board games. One thing to note – although the yard/house are extremely quiet, the road is close and had an occasional loud motorcycle/car drive by. As stated in the house description, the house is delightfully old and ornate and we thoroughly enjoyed every bit of it.Thank you for having us!

Stayed Dec 5, 20249 miles from Dahlonega, in a quiet little neck of the woods, sits a pre-civil war cabin that will take you back in time. If you're looking for peace and quiet this is the place to stay. We absolutely loved it. Whether it was playing Monopoly with the grandkids or sitting at the patio table in the sun watching the cows eat the grass. It was peaceful. The cabin has all the amenities you need. If your looking for a spotless home, remember, this cabin was built back in the 1800's. It was nice to walk in and see the Christmas decorations! We would stay there again.

Stayed Aug 29, 2024My husband and I spent a wonderful Labor Day weekend at the property, accompanied by our two dogs. The cabin is masterfully mixing the very well-kept rustic origins and modern conveniences. Although it is close to the road, it feels very secluded and is very quiet. We loved to have our morning coffee on the screened porch while listening to the chirping birds. Stayed Aug 22, 2024This lovely cabin was like going back in time - but with all the modern luxuries we are used to. The attention to detail in the renovation and decor is exquisite. The cabin is clean and easy to access. Entry was easy and parking/road access was a breeze. The air conditioning and all fans worked well - as we stayed in the summer. The kitchen was well stocked. We cooked several meals for a family and enjoyed eating outside. The grounds are well kept and lovely. We walked the yard every morning and breated that cool mountain air. The cabin feels like it's miles away from civilization but it is not far from town and just minutes to conveniences. The adults loved the antiques that make this property rustic and give it so much personality. The kids loved that there were multiple TV's with good chanel selections and working WiFi. Everyone was happy.... we are grateful.
