The Rojo Buffalo Cabin at The Lazy Buffalo portrays the heritage of the buffalo. In 1907, our lil town was in great excitement as 15 of the finest buffalo arrived by rail in heavy crates. Even Quanah Parker was there to witness this historic event.
The Lazy Buffalo has 13 individually themed Cabins and a Bunkhouse. Each is uniquely decorated to capture the essence of the Wichita Mountains and the history of our hometown.
The Rojo Buffalo Cabin has two Queen Size beds and a walk-in tiled shower. Barn wood, knotty pine, and corrugated tin are used throughout the spacious cabin. Dark stained concrete floors and tin ceilings really add a rustic yet elegant vibe.
Capture the sunset over the plains from the long covered front porch while lounging in the wooden rockers or gather around the outdoor pavilion complete with picnic table and charcoal grill.
When it gets dark, roast marshmallows at the outdoor fire pit or relax under the stars in the back of our vintage star gazing truck, located just a short walk from the cabin.
Both kids and adults will love tossing horseshoes, throwing Frisbees at disc golf, playing old fashion board games from the front porch, and creating music in nature at the interactive Music Wall. Don't forget to snap memories at our themed photo ops.
Because we get to host lots of hunters and fishermen, we wanted to provide these guests extra convenience by providing an outdoor fish and small game cleaning station which is located between our bunkhouse and cabins.
LOCATION:
We are located just three miles from the entrance to the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge. The Wildlife Refuge preserves 59,000 acres of mixed prairie grass, ancient mountains, lakes, and streams. Herds of bison, longhorn, and elk can be seen roaming free and there's endless recreations opportunities such as fishing, bird watching, mountain biking, hiking, rock climbing, and kayaking. A paved bike lane joins the property and runs throughout the Wildlife Refuge. At less than a mile from the original Quanah Parker’s Star House and minutes from Lawton Fort Sill and historic Medicine Park, there's plenty to see and do nearby.

We absolutely loved our stay at Rojo Buffalo Cabin!! Comfortable bed, location was perfect for us, peaceful, comes with mini fridge, and keurig single serve coffee maker which was a plus for us. My daughter and I stayed here for youth camp and we were only a mile and half from the Church. We went star Gazin’ one night while there! Definitely would recommend!
The property amd cabins were very cute and unique. I'd definitely stay again
The property is very unique and the area is very quiet. This was my 2nd visit to this property, looking forward to going back!
The view is beautiful, the rooms are nice and clean, well appointed.
We had a wonderful stay at The Lazy Buffalo! Cute cabins that are conveniently located near The Wichita Mountain Wildlife Refuge, Medicine Park and other area attractions. The themed cabins are nicely decorated. The snacks and water in the rooms are nice to have after a long day of sightseeing. The extra activities like corn hole and the stargazing truck make this a very fun place to stay. Julie is a great host! I had a girls' weekend with my mom, sister and niece. We had 3 rooms and stayed 3 nights and loved our time here. We will definitely stay here again the next time we are in the area.
We were only staying one night but it was everything we had hoped for.
Everything was perfect!
The property is super clean with a beautiful rustic charm. Love the place and will highly recommend. The property manager was very accommodating and very nice.
I loved the property! I am back at work now and sad that I will probably never have occasion to visit the Lazy Buffalo Ranch again!!!! It's beautiful. Comfortable. The structures, grounds and decor are delightful.
My two daughters and I like to visit the Lawton area each year and this year we decided to try a cabin instead of a hotel and we LOVED it! We will definitely be back. the kids loved the outdoor activities, especially corn hole. Beds were comfy. Shower was nice. Felt safe.
Came for peace and quiet. Was not disappointed. Very clean. Small town. Need more eats. Casino will be a plus when finished. Love the decor. Suggestion though, better chairs. I have a bad back and they were very painful on me. Other than that. No issues.
Cute, Clean, and convenient.
Loved the decor. Clean. Quiet.
