Hot Springs, North Carolina
We have a riverfront log cabin for rent. This one is The Bear no pets allowed in this one.
Nestled in a picturesque mountain valley in Western North Carolina, our hand built cabin is located at the French Broad River, surrounded by the National Forest and the mountains that gave the Blue Ridge its name.
Privately situated, our large two-bedroom cabin has excellent views, with lots of wide open space around it. Facing the river which is across the road, with meadows and mountains on all sides, the shady front porch is a favorite spot come rain or shine. The huge grassy lawn slopes gently down to the road there is a pathway to the river’s edge across the road, for strolling/fishing or entering your own kayak/canoe/tubes.
If you’re looking for a relaxing getaway you won’t find a nicer spot to settle in for a while. If an active outdoor vacation is more your style, River Lodge Log Cabins is a great place to come home to after a hard day of hiking, biking or rafting.
Our riverfront cabin offers the perfect vacation getaway for couples of all ages, small families. The cabin has a vaulted ceiling in the main room, two private queen bedrooms with antique furnishings, a sofa and a bath with a shower in each bedroom. The large sunny kitchen includes a side-by-side refrigerator, a gas cook stove, a convection oven/toaster, a microwave, dishwasher, and a coffee maker, and has a comfortable dining area. The covered front porch has a two hand-made swings, back porch has a roomy hot tub and a gas grill in the yard. Other amenities include full linen service for 4, a satellite TV, Central Heat and Air and a gas fireplace (Winter Use Only). The cabin accommodates up to four people.
Our Hot Springs, NC cabin rental is conveniently located just a short drive northwest from Asheville and the Biltmore Estate. We have safe, easy access year-round for all types of vehicles. Many guests will appreciate the large level parking areas.
This is a log siding cabin we built ourselves. We used tongue and groove paneling on the walls and ceilings, and the floors are a fabulous mixture of colors of wood flooring. The metal roof makes music out of rainstorms! You’ll enjoy unique features such as handmade wood countertops and trim you just don’t get in “factory-built” cabins, plus the satisfaction of knowing that local labor and love were part of creating our cabin for your enjoyment, here by the riverside.
We recommend stopping and getting your groceries before getting to Hot Springs as we do not have a major grocery store, just a Dollar General.

Beautiful area. Cabin is nice and as listed.
Great property, easy access to Hot Springs, NC. We did a lot of sightseeing, and this house was in a great location to see a lot of different places.
We loved it! ? Very clean comfortable cabin & clean outdoor hottub. No complaints about the cabin, it was great. Only complaint is vrbo advertising a total cost beyond the cabin rental & then charging my card an additional third of the cost beyond that. I guess that's business in today's world; greed has replaced honesty. We would love to go again if we can bypass vrbo.
We checked in on a Sunday afternoon and immediately went to town for a few hours. Upon returning we discovered that the air conditioning wasn't blowing cold. Mary and Ken were there lickety-split at about 10:00 on a Sunday night! Although it couldn't be fixed that night, fortuitous weather and ceiling fans took care of us, then they had a professional out to the cabin the next day to correct the problem. I would definitely stay with them again!
Very clean, spacious, lovely cabin. It was 80s Weekend to boot in Hot Springs. Had a wonderful time!
This place was a complete gem. It was beautifully decorated. Great location. Love everything about it.
We enjoyed ourselves
Was with the love of my life and we enjoyed minute of our stay.
The cabin is beautiful and unique. Gorgeous views We had a wonderful time and would definitely stay here again. The front porch is my favorite spot. The cabin is right across the street from the French Broad River and centrally. Located to lots of fun activities.
This was a great house. Convenient to the town of Hot Springs, Marshall and Asheville! Could have used more furniture in the bedrooms besides the bed and a lamp in the livingroom. Hot tub was a little cloudy. Could use a better picture of proximity to the river. Did not realize from pic on web site that another house was right in front of this house. Felt a little arkward sitting at the river while the other guest at river front house were on their porch. Front porch rail down steps was wobbly. It was a clean house.
Our stay at the bear cabin was awesome. My family enjoyed the cozy cabin. The hot tub was the highlight!! The cabin had awesome decorations and had everything you need for your stay. I just wish we would have found the swimming hole located about 8 miles from the cabin if you take a right out of the driveway. The only other regret was that we couldn't stay any longer. Would definitely recommend this cabin!!
As described on VRBO, Great front porch. local wildlife visited every morning. Would recommend this cabin
Loved the stay the cabin. It was a dream, surpassed the pictures online. We wanted to mop but, couldn't find one and the knifes need sharpened. Other than that amazing! My parents are visiting from Ohio and loved it. Thank you!
Much needed relax time!! Will definitely be back soon to stay.
