This is a very quiet and nice property. The house is full with everything you will need for your vacation.

Great stay! Convenient to Crystal Mountain and David was an excellent host. We cooked every meal and the house was well stocked. Kids and adults took advantage of the game room.

We visited Balsam on the Betsie for a special winter retreat and we all had a wonderful time! The beds were very comfortable, the fireplace was beautiful, the kitchen well stocked. There were plenty of places to sleep and blankets to keep warm. The game room was a great place to hang out with the kids, especially since it was winter. The trail to the river was beautiful, and the grandkids enjoyed throwing snow balls into the river. The location is very peaceful and quiet. Crystal Mountain Resort was just a few minutes away and we enjoyed dinner there in one of their igloos. David was very polite and responsive and we appreciated his hospitality. We completely enjoyed our stay and highly recommend!!

The cabin, location, entertainment options, cleanliness, communication, kitchen and bath supplies were all excellent! It would have been a perfect 5 stars if the beds weren't terrible. I assume they were new and the owners are trying to get a long life out of them, however they were extremely hard and terribly uncomfortable. My bed at home is firm... these are bricks, every single one.

This was the perfect cabin and location for our short family getaway. The cabin was very clean & comfortable. The host was extremely responsive. We hope to come back again soon! Thank you, Balsams for your wonderful hospitality .

My family of 14 stayed here for a week. Great location, great communication with the host, beautiful Betsie River for morning kayak trips.The house was well appointed. Improvements I could suggest are pretty small...a screen on the downstairs bedroom, more hooks for hanging clothes in bedrooms, a clothesline for drying towels. Small things, indeed!We loved staying in David's home. The screened in porch was a favorite! Perfect for a big group.

House was perfect spot for family trip to upper Michigan! Hosts were terrific. We had 6 adults & 4 kids 8 & under. Clean & plenty of space for each family to have their own space and also gather together. Place was very well equipped with kitchen supplies, plenty of towels, lots of amenities. Kids & adults loved the game room downstairs. Surroundings were beautiful and somewhat secluded, perfect for recharge, yet close to lots of attractions like Lake Michigan beaches & Traverse City! Would definitely stay again if in the area!

David was a fabulous host! He made it so easy and perfect.The house is new and just awesome. It’s even better than the photos.This was one of two of David’s houses we used for a golf trip at Arcadia Bluffs and it worked perfectly. We will be back!

We stayed for the weekend my brother caught a nice size fish from the river. And the young adults enjoyed the kayak's and the birthday party was a success

Host was responsive, gave personal advice based on the group in the area. Place was clean and well-kept, perfect for our weekend getaway and group skiing at Crystal Mountain.

This riverside cabin was clean with comfortable beds and a well-supplied kitchen. We all had a blast in the game room playing ping pong and fussball. I would love to return in the summer to take advantage of the porch, deck and River.

We think this is our 4th year coming and always everyone's favorite weekend! The proximity to Crystal is great and David has everything so well organized in the house! It is cozy, warm and lots of card games by the fire are played! Thank you again!

We had 13 of us in just after Thanksgiving for an early family Christmas getaway to celebrate. Great house and location. Quiet tucked back area and was beautiful with the snow we got. Enjoyed the fireplace and game room was a big hit with everyone. Clean house and plenty of room to spread out. One of my favorite rentals we have stayed at yet. Would love to return sometime. Thanks again for making our family vacation a great one!!

This vacation was a 2023 Christmas gift for our 4 adult children, their spouses, and our grand babies. We all enjoyed it so much. The cabin was so cozy and had everything we needed. The amenities provided including the game room, outdoor activities, etc were awesome. We appreciated the hospitality and kindness that the host showed us even before we arrived. The area was beautiful and the location was perfect. It was close enough to anything we wanted to do yet was secluded enough to give us privacy and time to shut out the noise of the world so we could spend quality time together as a family. We can't wait to return to this beautiful area!

This property is the perfect place to unwind and get close to nature. The Betsie River is just a short, pleasant walk to the dock where you can fish. Our stay coincided with the salmon spawning. What a treat to watch these huge fish. And we also had the opportunity to see bald eagles fly overhead. We also witnessed the Northern Lights since the cabin is in a dark area. Communication with the property manager was easy and immediate. The cabin is spacious and well appointed. We had a nice campfire and enjoyed playing games and ping pong in the game room. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to return next year!

This is our third straight year for boys week at Balsams and it continues to be a perfect location to kick back, relax and maybe catch a fish or two. The house is clean, spacious and well appointed. The back deck is the perfect place to hang out and the screened in front porch makes it an all weather venue. From the well stocked kitchen to the beautful game room, this house is truly a home away from home. David is a great host, providing tons of local entertainment options and help with any issue. We will be back in 2025 for more good times at Balsam's on the Betsie.

Stayed with extended family for a hiking/kayaking trip Plenty of space and well laid out for large groups. We kayaked right from the cabin and it worked great! On a dirt road that worked well for bike riding/walks.
