The home was just what we needed for a lovely relaxing vacation. Big beautiful windows overlooking a winter wonderland of snowy trees. There was a perfect sledding hill in the backyard! Fred was a kind and responsive host. The beds were comfortable. There was plenty of heat for the cold winter days. The house has been considered well for guests. One of our favorite things about the house was a DVD movie collection with a television the downstairs bedroom - great for movie nights.

We had such a lovely time at this location! Four friends and I went for a weekend knitting/crafting retreat and it was the perfect level of cozy with the wood stove and secluded on a dead-end road. The host was very communicative and responded quickly to messages. We will definitely be going back!

The house and property are beautiful. Located in a quiet, calming and relaxing location where the only sound you hear is nature. We wish our stay was longer. The house itself was clean and well kept and sufficiently stocked with all the essentials.Fred is an excellent host making our arrival our stay and our departure a breeze.

I had looked online at quite a few cabins, but this one looked perfect, and it was everything I was hoping and more!We had a beautiful winter escape to the Catskills, curling up near the wood burning stove, playing board games, enjoying beautiful views from the huge windows, and a nice big soaker tub to relax in. We played board games, did some fat-tire mountain biking, went bowling nearby, and watched the snow falling. A great week! Our host provided us with clear instructions for check in and check out, and was available to answer our few questions during our stay.Perfect!

Amazing cedar chalet from the 70’s, beautifully renovated and furnished. Great deck overlooking the woods. My husband and I had a peaceful and restful vacation, away from the madding crowds.

We really wanted to like this place, and it has many good qualities, but we felt annoyed multiple times a day while we were there. This is not a complete list of concerns It was a very hot week. No AC and only one fan that we lugged up and down, and all around. The “front screen door” is a hazard that was installed backwards and has so much tension we injured ourselves. Screens were haphazardly good and bad. The “deck screen door” was barely operable until we cleaned it out and, even then, it operated poorly enough to be a source of aggravation. The deck needs to be sanded-- splinter in my toe, and refinished. No laundry soap, just fabric softener, made us wonder how the towels and linens were washed? The lights in the great room do not dim and are painfully bright. These are the only lights you can turn on from the bedroom to walk down the stairs. There is one, heavy, floor lamp. The kitchen has new appliances, but there's very little counter space. Flatware is in a container on the counter that you have to dig through. There were only three teaspoons and two wine glasses. There is no closet or hooks in the master bedroom. Both the master and lower bedroom have bed frames that stick out and hit your ankles and legs as you drag the fan around or open and close the windows. The rug under the dining table has no “gripper” mat. I slipped multiple times. It’s a lovely setting. Very remote. Many good things but no space left to write.

My wife and I wanted to get away for a couple of weeks and go someplace quiet. We couldn't have made a better choice than the Cedar Chalet. Private, silent and in the wonderful Catskills forest. Fred, the owner, is really nice, he made arrangements to come by one day and deliver a new microwave and do some yard work. It was great meeting him. The kitchen was stocked with everything imaginable, the house was very clean and beautiful We loved everything. The deck, the yard, we made S'mores in the fire pit, most mornings 4 turkeys would drop by to look around under the apple tree, and the night sky was marvelous. We stayed 14 nights, never watched TV, we just wanted to listen to nothing. Also it's a great location if you like driving back roads in the mountains, like we do, and visiting various towns. Wifi and Verizon cell coverage were spot on. In summary, we loved it, hope to come again, everything worked fine and we were sad to have to leave.

My husband and I stayed at this cabin for our minimoon and it was everything we wanted it to be. The outside deck was so cute and peaceful. I would have my morning tea out there (with a blanket around me because it was a bit chilly). The wood stove warmed the cabin up really nicely and made the living room area super cozy. The cabin was very spacious and each room had its own personality. Loved all the salt lamp night lights as well. Perfect peaceful getaway.
