Quiet Cabin Retreat near Blue Ridge Mountains

Overall our stay was “okay”. The area is beautiful and the neighborhood was in a wonderful location, however….The details of the property omitted the fact that there is only heat on the bottom level (there’s 3) which a loud large utility fan must run the entire stay to get the upstairs to about 55 degrees. A fireplace is available on the main level, but without knowing from the start to bring wood, night one was chilly at 30 degrees outside. The hot tub was unable to be used, which we were looking forward to. I relayed everything to the property mgmt co. And they were very responsive with the issues we had.

Everything was great, cabin was freezing when we got there. Had to call service to come out. We were so cold for hours. Would recommend putting some instructions of the thermostat under the controls. Can tell which way is on or off, and it takes a while for heat, propane to signal after turning on.

Hot Tub was Devine....Fenced Yard made it nice for my dog. Very quiet & private. Close to everything I needed. Kitchen fully stocked w/ pans, pots, coffee makers. Thoughtful details to seating on main floor & abundance of towels too! May want to have whomever is responsible for cleaning be sure that the ashes from the fireplace is removed before the next guest arrives, as the previous guest must have had a fire in the fireplace, but since it wasn't cleaned out, it had a continuous odor of ash during my stay on the main floor, along with remnants of wood chips, etc were left by the fireplace as well.

A beautiful cabin! Took our toy dogs which included a 22 pound Cavalier only to find porch railings and all inside staircases and railings were spaced such that our dogs could fall through. We improvised a barricade which was not ideal but worked. Future renters should be aware of this. Outside lights were mostly not working which made coming in after dark treacherous.

It was good overall. A little older than we anticipated. The lot was very enclosed and dark.

We had a lovely visit to this quiet home in a beautiful neighborhood. The home had everything we needed except a hair dryer which was no big deal. We very much enjoyed playing games and relaxing. Our two dogs loved the outdoor space in the fenced in yard. Overall a wonderful weekend getaway for our famiy.

We enjoyed our stay! Everything was clean. Hot tub also was clean. Location is good for us, 29 minutes from Sugar Mountain ski resort. Great!
