Quaint Waterfront Cabin - perfect for two

Great place and awesome views.

Our stay at this very clean and neat cottage was terrific.The house was well equipped and extremely comfortable.The quiet settings offered lovely breakfast times and delicious dinners with a world class view. We are verygrateful to have stayed here and look forward to possibleother visits. We also loved the architecture of the structurefilled with many windows and light.A real plus in every way.

Cutting to the chase, I left before my final night after being charged by, jumped on and barked at the owners family’s dogs during the week. I had complained about the dogs early in the week, to which the reply was “they are friendly.” That’s just one example of the disappointments that weeks. At the time I reserved the property, it was not revealed that the property is shared with the owner. I was expecting peace and quiet, but that’s not what this property has to offer, at least not my week. I walked down to the beach to watch the sunrise at 5am, and someone is 50 feet away. I walked down to check out sunset, and someone is on their cellphone. Other times walking down to the beach area, On the night before I left early, they were having a birthday celebration at the beach. I was standing by the deck when one of their dogs left their group, charging me and barking aggressively while I slowly backed up onto the deck. Someone called the dog back, but didn’t acknowledge me. I’m a dog lover, and own a 90 pound pit bull mix. I’m not skittish around dogs, but these dogs were out of control. As for the cabin, it is fine, although less clean than expected considering the cleaning fee. The location was good, just a short drive to Southwest Harbor. The owners’ house, not shown in the photo, is to the right and in front of the cabin and closer to the beach. FWIW, it is the first negative review I’ve ever given on VRBO, and I waited a few weeks after I left to write it.

We loved this property. It was an amazing place to be for a week. The host was very responsive and very friendly. The views were spectacular. The house had very comfortable seating with views from all the windows. When we return to Southwest Harbor we will try to rent this property!

We can't say enough wonderful things about this gem of a place in SWH. The little cottage was absolutely perfect for two. Gorgeous views of the ocean and mountains. A perfect place for morning coffee and unwinding after a busy day. Wonderfully appointed, clean, and comfortable. We enjoyed daily visits from a loon, seals, and a pair of porpoises!! As hikers, kayakers, and cyclists, this cottage was a dream. We'll be back. Thank you Becky and Cindy!

What a lovely cabin with an outstanding location to easily access all parts of MDI, not to mention a wonderful view of Southwest Harbor. The spotless cabin has everything a couple needs for a week stay. Becky is wonderful in her communication and a pleasure if you have the chance to meet her, and her family. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Exactly as the photos showed. What an absolutely lovely retreat! There were several places to stay in the area but we didn't see any that could compare. The privacy and the quiet area were wonderful. A beach overlooking the harbor was so enjoyable. We watched seals and even saw deer walking up the beach. We could not have been hosted by a nicer woman and her family. Loved our stay here, the cabin was perfect for the two of us! Had everything we needed for the stay and check in was easy. We drove back and forth to Acadia daily and the drive was easy, would definitely come back! Just note, if you are staying for a longer time, there is no grill on the property!
