Wauhatchie Woodlands is a family-owned collection of quaint, tiny-home, rustic-comfort log cabins on a 14-acre wooded property surrounded by National Park land. This natural setting is nested less than a mile from the city with quick access to downtown Chattanooga, Ruby Falls, Lookout Mountain, and the surrounding area.

Named after Nicole's daddy, Papa is equipped with everything you could ever need to make the most of your time in Chattanooga.

Papa is one of our delightful rustic cabins. During your stay, you’ll enjoy a private hot tub, furnished back deck, covered front with charcoal grill, shared fire pit, and an incredibly memorable, charming space surrounded by nature.

Papa can comfortably sleep up to 4 guests between the main bedroom and sleeping loft. The cabin is equipped with a full kitchen, smart TV, private washer dryer combo, & more.

Starting from the back, you’ll find the fully furnished deck, surrounded by decades-old trees, there awaits a space of pure relaxation, your private hot tub, with easy access to the main bedroom. Just off the deck is the shared fire pit and picnic pavilion, perfect for fireside chats and evening s'mores. Firewood can be purchased on-property.

Inside, the main bedroom hosts a queen bed, closets for hanging clothes, lots of drawer storage, and a Smart TV. Just outside the bedroom is your dedicated washer and dryer combo unit on one side and the full bathroom with bathtub on the other.

A step further we enter the kitchen, fully stocked for cooking/dining with an electric range, microwave, stove, full-size fridge, dishwasher, and all the dishes you need to whip up a vacation feast. The living room and kitchen feature an open floor plan with vaulted ceilings with the main TV across from the sofa.

Up the staircase is the sleeping loft equipped with two twin beds. Kids will love having their own space. For grownups, clearance in the loft is low, just 4' - it’s perfect for sleeping, just watch your head when you get up.

The cabin’s covered front porch with dining set is the perfect place for a morning cup of coffee, or grilling out on your dedicated charcoal grill (guests must provide their own charcoal).

Chattanooga is a city known for its railroads. There are active train tracks that border the property to the north and I-24 is about half a mile away. Please note that light sleepers may be affected by the ambient city and train noise. Each cabin has been equipped with a white noise machine to help minimize any disturbance.

We are pleased to allow dogs at Papa Cabin, under specific terms and conditions. See our pet policy for more information.

Pack ‘n Play Travel cribs are available upon request.

Nice clean cabin, a little overpriced. Did have a dingy smell. Was a little loud with train nearby, but used the sounds machine. Clean hot tub, just a lot of chlorine! Overall not a bad place to stay near attractions.

We loved this cabin! It was clean and had all the amenities. Secluded and private even though other cabins were close by.

My husband and I stayed in the Papa cabin, and we had simply the best time. The hot tub was perfect and secluded, the cabin was a perfect size, and everything was clean. They provided laundry and dishwashing detergent which helped with convenience, as we had flown in from Colorado, and didn't have many things with us. We loved being so close to town, but at the same time feeling like we were in the middle of nowhere. The grounds were fun to walk around, and we had a great time playing basketball and trying out pickleball. We don't usually like to vacation in the same place more than once, but will definitely consider coming back here because of how great everything was!

Cons: Busy railroad right next to the campground. Difficult sharp / steep turn off a busy road getting into the place (larger vehicles beware. Saw a pickup truck have to back up and try again)Pros: Mostly clean. Enough space for a long weekend. Attached hot tub. Minutes from Ruby Falls / Lookout Mountain / Rock City. We stayed in the Papa cabin which seemed to be the only one in the entire grounds with a 45 degree inclined driveway. A few others weren't flat, but if there was rain we wouldn't have made it up this one. There was no TV remote in the master bedroom, which is a shame because vacation nights are the only time my wife watches television. We told them on the 1st night but they never fixed it and wasn't worth calling a second time. Some dust in the dresser drawers which they said they would address with housekeeping. Kids were very happy overall, just keep in mind you're in a rustic area. Train noise didn't actually bother us even though a quarterback could hit them with a football. Actually would recommend this camp site but maybe try another cabin.

The papa cabin was great and just the right size for our weekend getaway. The only thing I would not give a 5 star on is location. It is not the easiest getting in and out especially in the dark. But overall a great place and would definitely recommend.
