Stayed Apr 18, 2025This property is perfect for children as the water is shallow but still enjoyable. We have a daughter with autism and she was captivated by the water, frogs, birds and all the beautiful deer this property has to offer.

Stayed Mar 15, 2025Our family had a great time at this cabin for a quick getaway! Tracy was easy to communicate with and we had no issues with the cabin which was exactly as described. There are neighbors nearby, but everyone was quiet and the property is large with unobstructed views off the back porch that made it feel more secluded. Loved hearing all the different types of birds too! Due to the drought Texas is in the river behind the house didn’t have a ton of water in it, but the Utopia town park was just down the road and our small kids enjoyed some fishing there. All in all we enjoyed our stay!

Stayed Dec 25, 2024The cabin itself is clean and well appointed. You essentially have everything you'll need in terms of appliances, dishes, utensils, beds, blankets. It was a good rate at the time we stayed. The location is also very convenient. You are only twenty minutes from Lost Maples and Garner Park. The management is attentive and responsive.Overall, excellent.

Stayed Jul 2, 2024Our family of five stayed 3 nights and had the best time! We loved star gazing, making s’mores by the campfire, seeing the wildlife on the property, and having “unplugged” family time. The property was about 20 minutes from Lost Maples one way and 20 minutes from Garner the other way, so we spent a day at each. Lost Maples was our favorite! The cabin has great wi-fi if you need it. The whole area has no cell phone service, so prepare for that. Don’t rely on your phone’s GPS because you won’t get service away from the cabin. (Bring a map!) The cabin was clean, quiet, and perfect for our family of five! (Two adults, and three kids, ages 6, 8, and 10.) I highly recommend and will go back!

Stayed Jul 6, 2023My family enjoyed a 3 night stay at Old Glory Cabin. It was very clean and organized. The river was low in the back yard, but that's just Texas in July. My advice to other guests: bring your meals and cook them in the cabin. Pack as if you are camping. Utopia is a very small, quiet town with a cafe and a small market. Also, make reservations if you plan to go to Garner State Park on a day pass. They sell out quickly on the weekends and will not let you in without a reservation.

Stayed Mar 16, 2023This little cabin has everything you could think to need! Very clean and comfortable. The river is right in the backyard although it wasn’t very full or moving it was still nice and quite just what we needed. There’s a nice place for a fire to roast s’mores and hang out with family.

Stayed Nov 7, 2022We had a very nice stay. We loved seeing the deer around the cabin. The river was either dry or down in most places due to our drought in Texas. Color was just starting to come to the trees. It was really beautiful hill country views. We had never been that far south in the hill country. I would go back and stay again.
