️ 150 acres of private wilderness in the Blaeberry Valley, 20 minutes from Golden. Authentic 1974 log cabin in the heart of the property, directly on the edge of the stream. Three private waterfalls accessible via a private trail. Thomson Falls and several recognised trails within 3 km. Direct vehicle access. Total isolation, authentic wildlife and the Canadian Rockies as a playground.

The space

1974 log cabin right on the creek — real forest life, not a modern cottage.

The cabin includes:

Double bed

Wood-burning stove (wood provided)

- Furnished kitchen

90L water tank for cooking

Solar lighting

Cooler provided (provide ice)

Outdoor eco-friendly dry toilets

No WiFi, no mobile network, no shower — just the forest, the stream and the silence.

Other things to note

What 'off-grid in the forest' means in practice:

❌ No shower or traditional plumbing

❌ No fridge - cooler provided

❌ No WiFi or mobile network

Water limited to 90L for cooking only

☀️ Solar lighting only

Wood supplied for indoor stove only

Wildlife and nature:

You are staying in an active wildlife habitat. Bears, deer and other animals live on the property. Secure storage of food and scented items is mandatory

Mosquitoes possible in summer — bring a repellent

No blinds — morning light comes in early

⚠️ Historic structure in a remote natural environment: this cabin lives to the rhythm of the forest that surrounds it. Small four-legged visitors are occasionally part of the scenery - this is common in remote mountains. If you need a sterile and controlled environment, this place is not for you. If you love nature in its most authentic form — you are exactly in the right place.

We loved our 3 night stay. Quaint, quiet and lots of beauty around the cabin. We enjoyed returning after a long day of hiking. Off grid experience but close to everything!

Incredible location, cabin, and experience all together. Perfect for a getaway in solitude with everything you would need to never start that car up all weekend, whilst still close enough that you can pop into Golden for any food, drink, or adventure desires. Would definitely stay here again.

Everything was as advertised and maybe im getting really old but it was alot of work to just hang out ... the creek is awesome and the trails where very nice...poor weather so not alot of outdoor fires. Again everything that is listed is correct, i just dont think i like being off grid anymore.

We had an amazing 2-night stay at this peaceful off-grid cabin! Tim, the manager, was incredibly helpful and welcoming. From the moment we arrived, he guided us through everything we needed and made sure we felt right at home. The cabin was cozy, clean, and had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. One of the best surprises was the gorgeous waterfall just a few meters behind the cabin — it felt like our own private piece of nature! If you’re looking for a quiet retreat surrounded by beauty, this is the place. Huge thanks to Tim for making our experience unforgettable. Highly recommend!
