Stayed Aug 13, 2022Our booking of 2 apartments for 2 families (11 persons!!) was cancelled 24h before arriving. The message said that there was a leakage that couldn´t be fixed in time. After that the host didnt´t answer my questions neither per Vrbo-App nor per telephone. He visibly cancelled the booking only on the next day, so we didn´t know if the cancellation is really fixed and if we get the money back. The Vrbo-Communication per Chat was very bad and idiotic. I had to start a lot of times and tell the story several times. It was a horror!! In the end our 2 families had to book two separated hotels with 3 double rooms each and double price because Porto was fully booked. I had to send an e-Mail to Vrbo with all booking information, the payment proof from 04/2022 and the correspondence with the host. On the originally planned arriving day we got the message from Vrbo that the host had cancelled the booking at last and that we get the money back. The situation was very exhausting and annoying for us and the troubles with the host and Vrbo overshadowed our holidays. The worst thing is when there are communication troubles and there seems to be no help from the booking platform. We can´t understand why we had to send all information to Vrbo? Can´t they see the money transfer on their account and can´t they communicate with the host in a short way to get the necessary information?
