Lots of things to do in the Luray area, from the famous Luray Caverns, to hiking, to a local Luray Brewery, and wineries. Horseback riding and zip lines are also available locally.
The cabin has very good WI-FI, and we have a large variety of Bluray and Dvd movies.
Please be aware that the cabin is in a rural development on a mountain with steep gravel roads. DURING WINTER MONTHS, ALL WHEEL OR FOUR WHEEL DRIVE IS STRONGLY RECOMMENDED. Winter storm conditions on the mountain can be very challenging, so do consider trip insurance. As weather and road conditions are beyond our control, we cannot provide compensation for weather and storm-affected road conditions, thus trip insurance is recommended.
Luray and Stanley are very quiet towns. I was traveling with four teens and my daughter to go to the Caverns and site see the area. The owner of the Cabin went way and beyond. We walked into a huge game room that included a big screen TV, over 100 DVD’s, board games and a pool table. You go upstairs to an open kitchen living room area full equipped and very clean. You step outside to a huge porch area with a hot tub on one end and a gas grill on the other. The Manager met us, welcomed us and had the hot tub ready. He was very kind and informative of the area. In the evening we enjoyed making s’mores over the fire pit. It was awesome to here teens say they had a great time. They were off their cell phones and enjoying family time. I would highly recommend this cabin to families with children. Sincere thanks. S. Eglinton
Tim’s property is very nice. Everything is as advertised. The beds are very comfortable too! Nearby access to the Shenandoah State Park is amazing and great for the hiking enthusiasts. All the adults and dogs were very happy staying at the cabin. Thank you!
Perfect place to escape for the weekend, and relax and spend family time. Loved the little extras that make a difference, like the drinks and popcorn.
The place has everything we could want, and the hot tub was fantastic and so convenient right on the porch. And the views from the porch are fabulous. Really enjoyed our stay!
We were very happy with our stay here and hope to book another weekend! We enjoyed just sitting on the deck and just relaxing. This trip was just to unwind from a busy hectic life and this was just the ticket. We specifically wanted somewhere to go that we didn’t need to go exploring and we could just hangout, but still have fun. Loved having all the card games, board games, and especially the pool table. It honestly felt like walking into a home away from home, which was so nice. Thank you for providing a nice mountain retreat, we definitely appreciated it!
Fantastic cabin in a wonderful peaceful location. Perfect for a weekend of hiking in Shenandoah. If relaxing to the sound of birds while you sip your morning coffee, or stargazing from the hot tub is your idea of heaven then this cabin is for you. Great amenities, family games and fully equipped kitchen. The owner and manager are very accommodating and friendly. Highly recommend for families/friends.
My friends and I stayed here for a few days while sightseeing all over Shenandoah and this property has everything you can think of! Very spacious and in a quiet neighborhood in the mountains. Communicating with the owner was super easy as well. Would absolutely recommend staying here!
The place was very nice, the hot tub worked, and the view was exceptional.
The feedback from our family was universally positive, best cabin yet. Hot tub with gorgeous sunset views over the mountains, pool table competitions, games and jigsaws, firepit. The area is great, we recommend Wisteria Farm and Winery nearby.
Our stay at Hightop was wonderful. The property has magnificent views and was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. Our family especially enjoyed the hot-tub and firepit. The property manager (Rich) was very helpful and responsive. Thank you for a great stay!
The cabin is in a great location for a get away without being completely off the grid. Some pros about the experience: Spacious 2 story cabin, easy check in and check out, timely communication from the owner, hot tub on the balcony with a nice view, grill, fire pit, pool table and new appliances. We enjoyed the peaceful location and relaxing in the hot tub after our hiking trips. Some cons: Musty inside, mainly upstairs (my friend had allergic problems as a result), central ac doesn't work, window units supplement for that, the beds were unmade, we had a mouse inside, traps were set for it. Lastly, I was charged $100 for an extra person when there were only 5 of us total. In the house rules section it says that a maximum of 8 overnight guests is allowed. When I reached out to the owner about this, he responded ...while we will accept up to eight, we do charge $20 per night for any more than four persons for maintenance and cleaning. This is common in the industry. It is not stated anywhere on the page that the guest will be charged extra for any more than 4 people, so this is misleading and an unpleasant surprise. Aside from that, the cabin itself is nice and so is the surrounding countryside.
