Miss Jo’s is one of three options at Sandy Cut Cabins. It’s a cozy one bedroom log cabin with a large private back deck. Miss Jo’s Cabin is just 2 miles from historic downtown Saluda and conveniently located beside part of the Sand Cut Pass railroad. Unfortunately, the train no longer travels the Saluda Grade but guests enjoy hiking along the old tracks for a day of exploring the quaint little town of Saluda. If you’re the adventurous type, Saluda offers Green River Adventures right downtown as well as The Gorge zip line. Just one mile past the cabin you’ll find Pearson Falls waterfall. It’s a moderate hike and enjoyable for children and “children at heart”. There are many day trip options in the area including the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, DuPont State Forest which has several waterfalls, and the Tryon International Equestrian Center. Please keep in mind that being surrounded by nature includes pesky insects and bugs and occasionally they get inside the cabin.
The fire pit and overlook bench are shared spaces. The driveway is steep but most vehicles can manage it at a slow steady pace.

I had a wonderful stay at this cozy cabin tucked away in nature. The surrounding scenery was beautiful and made for a peaceful getaway. The cabin was clean and well-kept, with a comfortable bedroom and an additional sofa bed that came in handy. I loved relaxing in the hot tub after a day of exploring, and the outdoor firepit and seating area were perfect for unwinding in the evenings. The WiFi worked great, too. Overall, it’s a charming spot with all the essentials for a relaxing retreat. Highly recommend!

When we arrived around 5pm, the interior of the cabin had not been cleaned...dirty towels on bathroom floor, no clean linens, kitchen counter dirty. Contacted Ginny who promptly arranged for cleaning and completed cleaning around 630. Ginny informed my wife Kren she would refund the for the day. It has not been done so I am requesting that be done. Thank you.

Ideal spot for a quiet getaway. The host was very considerate and reached out prior to our stay. The instructions they provide on how to get there were very helpful. The driveway is steep, but they gave advise on how to push thru.

Very private location, deep in the woods, with so much peace and quiet, you can enjoy the hushed sounds of the leaves rustling in the breeze and the sound of Joel creek and / or Pacolet River rushing by in the distance. Enjoyed sitting by the fire pit, and a couple of evenings in the hot tub. Convenient parking made loading and unloading the car a breeze. Both a front porch and back deck to enjoy different views of the woods by. Worlds easiest and unobtrusive check in and checkout !! Plenty of hiking areas to enjoy. Chair perched up on hill at just the right angle to catch a morning sunrise in its beautiful pink and orange brilliance. The only drawback is getting up the steep drive to get to the cabin....but we made it. Fun week !

We enjoyed our stay at Miss Jo's cabin. The area was quite but close to the town of Saluda. Enjoyed a couple of walks along the nearby creek. Short drive to Dupont State Park and Hendersonville. The hot tub was a nice amenity after hiking. The owner was responsive with communication. We would definitely stay here again.

This is a great spot to unplug and recharge. WiFi available but very little cell phone reception, which is perfect when needing to recharge body, mind and soul! The facilities were perfectly suited and well maintained.

The owners were very responsive when I had questions. I was disappointed that the train tracks into town were damaged by the flooding from Helene. Road damage also made the drive to the cabin a bit scary for me. We planned our days carefully to avoid multiple trips out.But the cabin is in great shape and I thoroughly enjoyed being there. It is small. I can’t imagine 4 adults staying there. We’re glad we brought a camping chair for the back deck. The hot tub was great. Thanks!

My husband and I rented the cabin for a long weekend, just the 2 of us. The cabin was perfect for our couple getaway: clean, enough seating, lovely hot tub to soak in under the stars. The owner was very responsive when we called on our way in and had our GPS fail us and put us in the wrong driveway. The local town is very close and had some neat shops any very yummy eats!

Great cabin. Great, secluded location. With nights dipping into the 40s, the hot tub was amazing. I needed a weekend getaway and this cabin is perfect for couples. Everything was comfortable and the provisions were nice. Please note: the last road going up to the cabin is STEEP! Also, do not use GPS. If you take Pearson Fall Road right between the Ivy House and Wildflour Bakery in Saluda, you will find the cabin much easier. It is a long gravel road that turns to a single lane since the floods. Pass through the tunnel and make a left and the cabin is UP the road on the left. This area was hard-hit during Helene and is being impacted by the Polk County fires. However, if you have a chance, please go and support the area with your tourism. Real friendly people there just trying to recover financially from the destruction.

We really enjoyed our stay at Miss Jo’s cabin.Property was very clean, quiet, and cozy.We had to re-schedule from our original date because of the weather, the owners reached out to us and made that process very easy. The driveway is very steep, which was communicated to us ahead of time. If you have the option of being an all wheel drive vehicle you will definitely want to do that.

Very nice cabin! We enjoyed our relaxing stay very much. Penny had everything you could think of. Loved the hot tub even though it was cold. The new heater was wonderful. Road up to the house is steep but our Terrain was able to make the climb with no 4 wheel drive. We would stay again.

Just what we were looking for - a cozy, fairly private cabin with a hot tub. Close to all saluda offers, especially once road work/Helene recovery is completed. We ran into a couple of small issues during our stay, both related to the aftermath of Hurricane Helene and resulting construction on the main road. Our hosts were available and did all they could to resolve our issues. One note - The Internet was out for the entirety of our stay. Totally understand given the circumstances. Hosts mentioned being aware of it being down before our stay during an unrelated conversation with them. Letting us know ahead of time that the Internet wasn't working would have allowed for us to work around this for work/school obligations. Instead, we had to scramble a bit. Despite this - we had a great time and would return!
