Mentone “Rest Easy” - Tranquil Serenity & Pet Friendly

The property was nice and relaxing.

This property was absolutely perfect! It's in a beautiful area with some great shops and food within walking distance. The cabin itself was very clean and the decor was great. It's also a pretty short drive from some wonderful hikes. I highly recommend staying there.

We had a very relaxing, long wonderful weekend at this cabin. It’s in an awesome walking location with local access to shops and a great sidewalk for running! Mentone Market was a life saver and has incredible food, also the Farmers Market on Fridays is great to walk down to and check out! The owner was very accommodating and I really appreciated the approval when our pet sitter canceled and we had to bring along our pup last minute. This cabin is an excellent spot for a great little staycation with the family we will ABSOLUTELY be back again!

My wife and I stayed recently and loved the home and enjoyed our time there. It rained most of the week of our stay, so we spent a lot of time relaxing on the screened porch - more of an outdoor room complete with fireplace. The host was responsive and great to work with. Be aware that a new home is being built in close proximity to this one, and although no work was going on during our stay (perhaps because of the weather) I imagine that noise from the construction could be an issue in the short term - check with the host. We are already talking about going back for another stay in the fall!

The house is lovely and is as described. Bedspread in upstairs bedroom needed washing but overall was pretty clean. The supplies were great only no coffee filters. The screened porch was nice only we had rain and the ceiling had a bad leak by the fireplace. The fireplace on the screened porch did not draft well even though we made sure the flu was open so it did burn well. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

We enjoyed our stay so much. The screened in porch watching the birds at the bird feeder was a wonderful touch. Beautiful river across the road.

The absolute cleanest place we’ve all ever stayed! Well appointed and great town to visit.

This home is beautiful and in a great location. We did see the dogs that come on the property and they were very friendly. The porch downstairs and the balcony upstairs off the bedroom were so nice to have with my dog. She loves sitting outside and watching all the birds and squirrels. The place was very clean. There are a couple of complaints/warnings(to other renters) that I would like to make. The bedroom downstairs has a very high bed. This trip I took my 85 and 84 year old grandparents. They could not climb into the bed. We even bought a stool and the bed was still so high. So they had to sleep on the pull out bed in the couch. My grandmother is 4'9 and the bed came right below her chest. The steps leading up to the cabin are very steep. The cabin is very beautiful and spacious. Just not elderly friendly. Host was very easy to reach and friendly.

We loved our stay here. The place is really clean and nice. You can tell the owners take pride in the property and want it to feel like a home away from home. Fantastic fluffy towels that smelled amazing, comfortable beds, night lights, etc. little things make a place feel more welcoming. We had a wonderful girl’s weekend and would definitely stay here again!

This was our third stay at Rest Easy and once again we loved it. We couldn't ask for a better place in Mentone. We love your house which we affectionately call our cabin along with it's location which is very convenient. Along with all the qualities of the house, Susan has always made herself available and helpful whenever we've needed anything. We love coming to Mentone and Rest Easy makes it even better. Thank you Greg, for allowing us the opportunity to stay there and we hope to be staying many more times. We have given you a well deserved 5 star rating on VRBO.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house was very spacious with modern amenities and conveniently located within the heart of Mentone. We did not get to use the grill, but it was a nice addition. We enjoyed the fire pit and Greg and Susan were very responsive. Both my wife and I are vertically challenged so we found the downstairs bed unusually high, but comfortable. A stool nearby might make a nice future addition . And although we don’t consider Greg responsible for the neighbors activity, there was unexpected construction at the house next-door very early in the morning.

Nice house. But said it slept six but no sheets or bedding for bed in cubby. Also tv was an issue was unplugged till we discovered that the next day and I guess they want you to stream everything because not a lot of channels to choose from. Also no filters for coffee maker. Had a bunch of chores required before we left to do which I never experienced before. But overall we had a nice time there and really appreciated that it was dog friendly and comfortable and the fireplaces on the porch and outside were really nice to have. Nice neighborhood especially with the water across the road.

This is our second visit and just like the last time it was amazing. The host is always very friendly and communicative. The home is always clean and cozy! We can’t wait to go back next year!

The property was the best furnished we have ever encountered, including a loaded bird feeder in the back yard, which gave us a good number of hours of enjoyment. A good base of operations from which to explore the nearby waterfalls and hiking opportunities.

The host was very helpful. The outdoor closed in porch with fireplace was amazing. There was lots of room. The cabin was beautiful and very clean.

Beautiful cabin in a quiet neighborhood of this cute little town. It was easy to get around to places like Cloudland Canyon, DeSoto state park, Little River Canyon, etc. The cabin was comfy and worked well for us with the 2 1/2 baths. The beds were comfortable. I slept well every night of our stay. We especially loved using the fireplace on the screened in back porch. Be aware that the Mentone restaurants are generally open on the weekends. But you can always take a short drive to Ft Payne or other nearby towns for evening meals. You can also count on the Mentone Market for ready made sandwiches, salads, and fresh made pizza. It was a relaxing stay in a beautiful area.

Great area cabin was cleaned no issues fire pit out side was great fire place in screened in back porch was fabulous! This is the second year we have stayed at this cabin, we will be back

We love staying at Rest Easy. Going back in February.

The pictures clearly showed assembled beds in both suites. However, the bed was not assembled in the upstairs bedroom. The mattress was on the floor!!! Fortunately, my husband and I are fit for 77 year olds and we coped. Our friends who were staying on the main floor would not have been able to get up from the mattresses on the floor. The kitchen had limited and old cooking vessels. Minimal quantities of paper products were provided. No tissues or paper napkins were provided. The cabin itself was clean and comfortable and the design was charming.

Very clean & well-furnished. Loved the sweet puppy visits in the morning. We used the fire pit every day- great chairs and fire pit tools. Loved the location and enjoyed the area a lot. Will definitely return.

I can’t say 1 bad thing about our stay at this property. Everything was wonderful. The only thing is the neighbors dog is a bit irritating.

Clean and beautiful

We really enjoyed our stay. The cabin is beautiful and in a very quiet and peaceful neighborhood. We especially loved the screened in back porch! The owners and property manager were very helpful with any questions we had.

Enjoyed our stay here. House is very clean and accommodating, as well as being situated on a large maintained lot. You will meet the neighbors dog Early and we personally enjoyed him. The only con to this VRBO is the mattresses. They are very firm and the springs pop in the upstairs bedroom.

As usual we enjoyed our stay at Rest Easy. This was our 3rd time to stay here and we will definitely book Rest Easy again. Very clean and full of amenities. Quiet and restful atmosphere.

My favorite thing was sitting on the back porch, especially first thing in the morning with my coffee. I was surrounded by trees and and could hear the sounds of nature. The only bad thing was on Friday afternoon and into the night we were without electricity because of a rain storm. Six hours later the electricity came back on. Loved all the shops in Mentone, lovely people. Would book the cabin again and highly recommend it other people.

My husband and I stayed 3 nights in Mentone & had a fantastic time despite lots of rain. We went to Fort Payne some so I could go to Alabama Fan Club gift shop & museum.

House and property is very Beautiful! Very peaceful place! Plenty of kitchen supplies to cook. Absolutely clean and Beautiful house!Cons not enough towels and wash cloths for 4 people. Had to wash towels every day. The Only reason I gave this property a 4 star was because of the mattresses They were horrible! We felt every spring in the mattresses. Even when you went to lay down the springs popped and made loud noises and when we layed down it felt like we were laying on the box springs not an actual mattress.

A welcome basket of treats and beverage...even if it were only a bottle of Pellegrino would have conveyed a message of your appreciation to your guests for selecting the property. Very old, stale popcorn and various seasonings left in the kitchen cabinets, would not use. No salt or pepper. Providing bar soap in the bathrooms is an inexpensive convenience that would improve your guest's experience. Property Manager did not know that an older dog that frequently visited the property during our stay (sent her a picture) was the long-time next-door neighbors. The very long list of instructions/rules to be followed by guests made us feel the home belonged to Coach Nick Saban.

This is the 4th time I have stayed in this cabin. It perfectly accommodates a small group and it conveniently located.

This place was very nice, and clean!! So close to downtown Mentone!! Perfect place to stay in Mentone if you wanna shop eat and explore downtown Mentone! We would definitely stay here again and recommend to friends was a wonderful stay!

Property very clean--confusion with air/heat system. Finally got it to work. VRBO very clean and details left on refrigerator were helpful. Would stay again.

One of the best we have stayed in. Close to shopping, food and great views of the surrounding landscape.

We had an absolutely wonderful weekend getaway. It’s a great area with plenty to do and full of friendly people. We decided to just recharge and it was the perfect place for us to do that.

Stayed for our honeymoon and will definitely be back

Cabin was very nice with just about everything you need for a short stay. Unfortunately the dishwasher wasn’t functional (the property manager had notified us about that beforehand) and for some reason the icemaker also stopped making ice but there was some bagged ice in the freezer. There was some water damage on the back porch around the fireplace that we told the property manager about We would stay there again.

We had an absolutely amazing weekend, Even though the snow was trying to interfere with our plans! Both the property manager and owners were very communicative and helpful. This cabin is the perfect get away to just relax and reset. We can’t wait to come back!

We had a very relaxing stay. The property was clean and comfortable. The furniture was actually comfortable. If you vrbo a lot you know this is not always the case. It was nicely decorated without a lot of knickknacks. We loved the indoor and outdoor fireplace. It's close to town but on a very quite street. We would definitely stay here again.

Enjoyed a great weekend with family and friends for my daughter's 14th birthday! Our favorite spot was the back porch with fireplace. Definitely worth staying here. Beds were comfortable, house was clean and easy access to town.

Need mats in tubs. Slippery. Not for older people.

Arrived on th 10 November. We didn't have hot water for 5 days the owner and property manager were very cooperated about the issue but we still couldn't get baths or showers for 5 days. They finally got.us hot water on 14 of November.

Cozy cabin, great location. Made for a great family getaway!

We were very pleased with this property. We had a wonderful stay. The host and the owner were most helpful. I feel we will book this one again in the future. A 5 Star rating for sure.

Well maintained property and convenient location.

The cabin was nice and as advertised. In reference to a few previous comments: - We didn't hear any generators near the property. It was quiet throughout our stay. - One neighbor did let his dog run loose through the neighborhood, including onto the cabin property. However, the dog was friendly and interacted well with us and our two dogs. Wasn't a problem for us. - Internet and ice maker worked fine. - The kitchen is stocked with all the utensils, etc. you would need. There is also a cabinet filled with assorted spices, salt/pepper, etc. Coffee filters are provided; coffee is not. - Toilet paper and garbage bags are provided. It would be nice if soap/body wash were provided, but it is not (as is disclosed). - There are conflicting messages about firewood. There is none provided for the indoor fireplace. There are some chopped logs in the yard which I presume are for the outdoor fireplace. - Plenty of extra blankets and pillows in the closets if you need it. - There were some sugar ants in the kitchen, which we let the property manager know about. It wasn't a problem for us, but we did let her know. Overall, we had a great stay.

We loved our time in Mentone. The cabin is wonderful! It's very clean, beautifully decorated, well stocked and secluded. This was our first time visiting the area, but we would definitely come back and highly recommend this cabin.
