Westcliffe, Colorado
Angel House is not your usual log home. It was built with the care and attention to detail that only a custom log home builder and his artist wife might choose for themselves. They built it with their own hands and they wish to share it with those who would like to experience life in the woods AND a bit of luxury. It was featured in Log Home Living Magazine in May 2010, and in STUDIOS Magazine in Summer 2013.
Just 1.8 miles from a paved highway, the property is on a scenic by-way bordered by San Isabel National Forest. Gorgeous property and just what was expected!
We enjoyed our stay at the Angle House. It was perfect for our family of four and dog to kick off the new year. It was away from the busyness of town with beautiful views. We enjoyed going around the the nearby towns and coming back to enjoy our afternoons and evenings at the home. Thank you Mark and Julie for sharing your beautiful property!
This is a wonderful home and a fantastic location. Quiet, scenic and very clean and comfortable.
We stayed in this beautiful home and very much enjoyed the views and the peace an quiet. The home is warm and inviting and Mark and Julie are kind and friendly.
We loved our weekend at Angel house. The house was lovely and comfortable. Beautiful fall colors around, nice walks from the house. Could see billions of stars from the deck at night. Enjoyed hikes in the area and checking our Westcliffe, especially the Amish bakery. Overall a hidden gem!
Best getaway ever! Spacious and beautiful cabin.
The house was fantastic. I felt the house was way better than the listing. Beautiful with outstanding surroundings. This was my first year to stay there, the second for others in my party, but it will not be my last.
Beautiful mountains and log home
One of the best experiences we’ve ever had. Quiet, beautiful and interesting decor, complete kitchen supplies. It was more than we had hoped for.
We had a great stay!
Mark and Julie were great hosts. Beautiful location. Hope to be back soon!
Wow, this house was perfect! To start, the setting was amazing. The house is tucked into the trees on the mountainside. We saw birds, lizards, and deer and I am sure there is a lot more we didn't see. The house is beautifully built and spacious. There are two wonderful decks. It is decorated with gorgeous art, both handmade and purchased. It doesn't have that serialized blah feel that so many other rentals have. You feel welcomed by the little touches and the beauty and comfort of the house. I will definitely be returning!
We enjoyed the home and furnishings, and hiking in the beautiful property. Julie was very accommodating, would definitely recommend.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the mountains at Angel House! It is a great place to get away from it all.
We have been blessed to stay in some wonderful properties over the years. Without doubt, Angel House is by far the best! The location is beautiful at 8,600’, the custom log home is gorgeous, the decorating is all top quality, and the gardens are spectacular! Everything about Angel House is a solid 10! We cannot say enough about how wonderful our stay was. We look forward to making Angel House our home base for our future trips to Colorado. Thanks Mark and Julie!
This was a great experience for our family. It was quiet and it was great for our family to unplug for a few days!! The Stampers were great hosts and the cabin was everything we expected!
Well worth it.
Wonderful property in a totally secluded and peaceful location in the wooded mountains of CO! Would go back again and again and again!
Everything was amazing! Julie & Mark have a beautiful home, the property is in a gorgeous rural setting and they provide everything we could have needed. With them so close, if we needed anything, I sent a quick email and it was provided within a few hours. It was such a relaxing getaway and was perfect for our family!
Angel House was an unbelievable experience for our family. Every amenity was considered, making the entire stay feel like we had all the comforts of home (just upgraded 100%!). The incredible craftsmanship of this hand-built log cabin home coupled with Julie's artwork adorning the walls just added to the entire experience. The location is unbelievable, surrounded by tall pines and gorgeous rocks. We even saw Bighorn Sheep as we were driving out of the property! We loved Angel House and look forward to returning!
We would rank this property as one of our very favorites! The property was exactly as described on the site. The owners were available but never obtrusive. Lovely home in a bucolic setting.
Beautiful house and setting! Stunning views. Drive not overly long to Royal Gorge. We all really loved our stay!
This property is a true gem. It’s isolated, yet a reasonable drive to activities. Upscale, yet engaging and comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked for actual cooking, which is pretty rare in a in a vacation rental. The stars at night were literally breathtaking. Enjoy!
