Stayed Jul 29, 2025The location allowed our family of four to explore Olympic National Park for a few days and spend time unwinding. The lower cabin is a magical little world of its own surrounded by a lawns leading into the woods, around the pond and to the river. The house offered a true escape from everything and living for a few days by gaslight without electricity was wonderful.

Stayed Jul 21, 2025The pictures really don't do it justice. The trails are comparable to what you will find at the national parks on the peninsula. If you are looking for a peaceful and beautiful getaway, this is it.

Stayed Jun 14, 2025We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The wooded property with trails, ancient trees, salmon berries, river and pond offered delightful walks, treats and fishing opportunity. The simple cabin is just what we wanted to escape into nature. All the necessary elements and no extraneous stuff. The woodburning stove was easy to use to take a chill off, the kitchen contained the needed cookware, the bed was comfortable, and the space just right.

Stayed Sep 16, 2024I'm glad we followed the advice of another reviewer to arrive during daylight so we could settle in and figure out the gas lights. Beautiful and peaceful. The fridge is very cold and the hot water very hot. Remember to bring power banks.

Stayed Jul 26, 2024If you want an awesome spot to get away and decompress this is the spot. But understand it is off the grid. Little water and no flushing of toilet paper. Extremely dark at night. Think ahead about how and what needs electricity as there is none at all. The river is perfect, the pond looks cool. It is not ADA accessible and if you need a cpap plan ahead.

Stayed Jul 22, 2024Cannot say enough great things about this place and Jeff was such a gracious host. Everything was super clean, comfortable, and thoughtful. The cabin is beautiful and the setting is truly magical and wildly exceeded my expectations for staying there. Although a little far out, it was still a central spot to explore ONP, the coast, and Port Angeles.

Stayed Jul 4, 2024My wife and I stayed here with our 2 dogs for a 4 night stay as a long weekend. The pictures don’t do this property justice. It is an absolutely magical piece of land. Easy to explore the Olympic Peninsula, but we preferred just roaming around the land. It was so nice to unplug and be out of contact with the outside world. We’re already planning our next trip back. Thank you Jeff for sharing this amazing place with us

Stayed May 23, 2024Nestled among a forest of alders and spruce, this riverside cabin is the perfect base camp for exploring the Olympic National Forest. Jeff, our host, met us at check in for a brief tour of some of the 34 acres, from multiple book-reading spots along the river to trails leading to hidden treasures. Then he left us to ourselves, checking in occasionally by text to make sure all was well. And it was! We experienced so many amazing things as we explored the Hoh Rainforest, Second Beach, Hurricane Ridge, Shi Shi Beach (our personal favorite), Cape Flattering and a successful whale watching tour. Truth be told, we spent an entire day exploring the property. We regularly ran into a family of black-tailed deer, hiked to massive grandaddy spruce tree and marveled at the willow a few steps from the front porch sprouting new growth after being gnawed down by beavers. We drank in the wildflowers, were serenaded by a frog chorus each night as we enjoyed cocktails by the fire pit, we awoke to birdsong that came with the first hints of sunrise, and two mornings in a row we were visited by hummingbirds. This gas-powered cabin may be off the grid, but with its refrigerator, stove and lighting, you won’t miss it. If you truly want to unplug and unwind - and we know you do - Lower Twin Cabin is the spot!!
