Log Cabin Stonewall Jackson Retreat

Host was amazing we will definitely stay with them again!!

The cabin was not professionally cleaned and internet for TV was hit or miss. Due to leaves on trees, no water view and cabin is on main road so can hear and see traffic. Most rentals have a check in book on instructions, phone numbers, etc., did not have one. Location close to Stonewall resort and Weston for activities.

Cozy, lived in rental with lots of windows and balcony. The hot tub was hot and the shower was hot. Everything worked as it should. The bed in the Master was average. Plenty of room for 4 people. Charming interior. The outside fire pit and horse shoe rings looked great but we did not utilize as we were off site to see family. Lots of birds, hawks, and resident Osprey down the road at Stonewall Jacksons. Was not there full week. First two days were cold and rainy but then unusually warm weather after. There was many bees outside after that so then did not utilize the deck area as much as I wished. Feel the price was right for what you get. Host was very communicative.

So, I book a cabin at least once a year and mostly 2 or 3 times a year in this area. This cabin has an awesome view of the lake. Sadly, that is all it has going for it. It was definitely not very clean. Bathroom had not been touched I am assuming since the last people there. There was zero wash clothes, the Internet did not work long enough to watch even the morning news. I know internet in this area is sketchy but this was exceptionally bad for being right off route 19. The hot tub was 107 degrees and would not get cool enough to even get in. (Although, it was not very clean either so…) There is a huge problem with wood bees, wood chips were everywhere, to the point where there are holes all over, both inside and out. I would hate to see exactly how much damage is done by the bees. The patio was great with a fire pit but you can tell it has not been swept or gotten ready for guests at all. The retaining wall in the back is not looking so good either. It could very well fall in at any time. Actually, it is just sad how this property is completely not taken care of. I do not feel good in any way to write this review. I just hope the owner sees this and makes some change. And definitely fires the cleaning crew they have. Will not be back.

We loved this cabin! It was just right for our family of four, cozy and perfectly spooky at night! The host stayed in touch about possible hot tub issues but we had no problems. Thanks for sharing, guys!

The hosts were very polite and assured everything was great and that our vacation was very enjoyable. The cabin was beautiful, comfortable and clean. We would definitely recommend it and would like to book this one again sometime.

Very nice cabin! Not far from town and food/stores. Lots of wildlife to view and very quiet for being right off the road. Wi-Fi is spotty and bathroom turns into a sauna very quickly (no exhaust fan) but otherwise a very pleasant stay! Owners were friendly and responsive to any questions/concerns we had.

Beautiful sunsets. Right off the road but very quiet and surrounded by dense tree cover. Located near Stonewall Resort and state park lands. Super soft beds. Driveway passable in low clearance car(summertime).

Six of us enjoyed this sweet cabin immensely. Wish we had time to enjoy the hot tub, but we did love a night around the fire pit!

This cabin has wonderful attributes that made our trip very enjoyable - solitude, firepit, hot tub, a beautiful deck with lounge seating, beautiful design and easy access from the road. When we were not traveling, we spent time around the firepit, sitting on the deck and just resting.

Inside the cabin was cozy and comfortable. The beds were very comfortable. The hot tub was a great addition to our stay. The cabin was clean inside but no one had tended to the porch, fire pit and outdoor table. It looked as though no one had cleaned it since winter ended.

Comfy and cozy cabin in the woods! A perfect place for our family to relax and reconnect! Beautiful setting overlooking the lake! The hot tub was peaceful and calming! Host was responsive to all questions and helpful and kind! We loved it here…we got to experience snow, sunshine and rain that week in the woods and loved every minute of our stay!

Enjoyed our sister time to reminisce our dad we recently lost. The cabin was perfect and secluded with a view of the lake across the road. Will be doing this place more often in colder months to enjoy the view of the lake.

I loved this cabin stay. I enjoyed the hot tub and the fire pit. The cabin was clean and stocked with necessities. The bed was super comfy and overall felt comfortable and relaxing. It provided my fiancé and I a great vacation and allowed us to have some alone time.

Cabin was very nice. Very close to Stonewall. Had everything we needed. Didn’t try the hot tub as it was warm when we were there. Beautiful property in the trees. Took a minute to figure out the hot water in the shower it’s the opposite as it’s normally hooked up, only very minor thing we encountered but quickly figured out.
