After resting at the tunnel, you can conyinue your hike to the top of the rim. There you will will a historical marker that describes the battle of Big Dry Wash where 16 to 27 warriors were killed. If you follow the road 1 mile further north you come to General Springs Cabin which was built in 1918 and used for man years ass a fire guard station. My family and I brought in 2025 in the cabin there were 9 of us plenty of room for everyone. It was pretty cold because if we turned on the heater at the top all the heat would go up to the kids and sweat them out the space heaters work best close to you during this time of year on the bottom floor. Overall it was nice the kids enjoyed themselves they got to see the local wildlife.

We have been staying here since 2022 and always have a great time. Our 5 grandkids love coming here as there is so much for them to do! One tip for newbies is bring your own ping pong balls. They get lost in the game room. We have a pack of 6 we bought in 2022 and we bring them every time. We also bring a basketball!

We had a wonderful time at this cabin! All three of my boys didn’t want to leave—they loved the dart game, basketball hoop, game room, fire pit, and waterfall feature. The cabin was clean, comfortable, and pet-friendly, which made our stay even better. The host was great to communicate with and made everything easy. Such a peaceful, beautiful place full of fun for the whole family. We would definitely come back!

We decided to stay in this place because its pet friendly and we thought we would be adopting a puppy before our trip. The place is spacious, well located and the kids really enjoyed the tree house and all the games.Unfortunately, even though we paid for cleaning fees, the place was extremely dirty. I found dirty spoons in the drawer, both toilets were very dirty, I had to vacuum the floors first thing when arriving. Honestly, almost made me want to leave, but the kids were having fun. There was a hammock outside and as soon as my daughter sat on it, it ripped and she fell. She didnt get hurt. I contacted the host about the house being dirty and to inform about the hammock. He replied he would replace the hammock for the next guest but didnt comment on anything else. Its not fun going on vacation and having to clean and disinfect everything. Also, the neighbors have a chicken coop and lots of dogs, they can be quite loud.Everything else was as described.

It was a beautiful cabin with amazing land! Our friend who makes ponds and waterfalls was completely fascinated with your water feature. In fact, he said he could fix all of the leaks for you! Treehouse was adorable! Love where the fire pit was located. We just don’t know how the cleaning works in between people who stayed there because it didn’t look like it was cleaned. I don’t know if you guys have a cleaning crew that comes in between, but if you do, I don’t think they came before we got there. I mentioned us and another adult couple would be staying there but one of the queen rooms didn’t even have any sheets and blankets already made up on the bed. I felt bad because that was the room our friends were staying in. The refrigerator and oven were really dirty on the inside. There were personal items in the bathroom drawers like brushes and stuff that had hair all over them. There were several chewed straws in the bedroom nightstand drawer (the room with the TV), as well as in the living room console table drawer. There was wet linen left in the washing machine. The microwave has two cracks at the bottom. Probably not safe. Beautiful place though. Comfortable beds. Oh, we didn’t find the guest book to write in. Thank you!!!

The cabin was cozy and gave us the total cabin experience we were wanting for our family. The neighbors were friendly and welcoming. The kids loved the grounds with the swing, trampoline, tree house and of course making smores. The kitchen offered what we needed for our stay. We really enjoyed the nearby activities offering a craft fair, pumpkin carving, bon fires, and more! CANT WAIT TO RETURN!

Loved it! It felt like home by the time we left. It's spacious, beautiful western artwork, comfortable beds, great deck, fun backyard with the water feature. It was thoughtfully stocked with all the supplies we needed. In the the kitchen we had enough pots and pans to cook most of our meals there. We stayed a month with our pet - think he actually had a great time too. The laundry room and washer/dryer were a big plus. Thank you Greg! Advice - if you have one bring your national forest pass for use at the Crossings and Water Wheel.

Overall the cabin was good. It had everything we needed to cook with. We had an issue with the Traeger but we got it working to enjoy pulled pork on Father’s Day. Hiking trails are very close and the turkeys and rooster across the street will let you know when it’s time to get up in the morning.

The cabin was clean and had almost everything we needed - I would only recommend bringing chip-clips (if you are a chip eating family). The kids loved the property! And I loved being able to watch them play in the snow while staying warm inside. While we didn't see any wildlife on the property we did see elk and cattle while driving around. We also caught crawfish at Tonto Natural Bridge (we put them back after a few pictures). I loved the turkeys that were next door, if they heard the kids playing they would gobble at them. Very clean and spacious. The pellet stove was easy to use and warmed the place up particularly if you put the ceiling fans on low. Would stay here again.

Wanted a quick, weekend getaway to enjoy the newly fallen snow and this beautiful property didn't disappoint. So much to do from exploring the property, swing from the tree, adventure over to the tree house or just relax indoors and enjoy the beautiful mountain view. Short, beautiful drive from Payson if you need to pop into town for anything. The perfect weekend getaway.

This place is great for adults and kids/teenagers. The upstairs has two sets of bunkbeds and a full bathroom, plus a table where everyone can set down their belongings. The downstairs has two nice size bedrooms and a fully equipped kitchen. The entire property is spacious, interesting and fun to explore. We stayed toasty with the pellet burning stove and heating system in the living room. Had a great time and we’ll definitely be back. Thank you!

We have been staying here for 3 years and bring our grandkids. They love it! The property alone has so much for them to do in addition to us catching crawdads at the creek and kayaking and fishing at the lake. In the past the neighbors have been friendly to us and we have introduced ourselves and had nice converations with them. We are quiet, friendly and good guests that respect the neighbors. This time was different. We could feel the tension and the unfriendlness of the neighbors and it made us very uncomfortable and we felt very unwelcomed.
