Great place to stay plenty of room and a great kitchen!
Everything was perfect for a weekend getaway!
My wife and I live a little closer to Nashville, so this was a perfect weekend get away for us and a quick drive. Cabin is nicely furnished and very homey. The master bed was way too hard for my taste and the water was a little too low in the hot tub to run the jets without splashing, but were still quite satisfied with our stay. The cabin was nice and quiet and relatively private, the lake is visibile from the cabin. After you're off the main highway, that last couple miles of road does turn to a one lane paved and then kinda transitions to a private gravel drive going up to the cabin. We were fine in the Fusion but familiar and comfortable navigating that. Not unusal at all to see a gravel drive up a hill or mountain in rural TN. Great cabin!
Our short two night stay began with a whopping cigarette residue smell throughout the entire cabin. When we checked in, the smell of this being a smoker's home was blatantly apparent to our sense of smell. Because two of us are allergic, and the place was not as described, we contacted host's afterhours line (it was a holiday weekend) right away, as instructed in our check in manual. After receiving a call back from the property manager, she informed us there was nowhere else to put us and assured me that it was in fact, a non-smoking cabin, and further attempted to assert this home had never been smoked in as, she claimed, she certainly would know if it had, because she used to be a smoker, and she has been in the home recently. Well, in our opinion, this was dishonesty at its finest. With nowhere to go, we stayed 1 night. After experiencing upper respiratory issues related to the rampant cigarette residue derived air quality issues in the cabin, we left at 7am the next day, cutting our vacation short. Host refused refund, although we informed them at check in the cabin did not meet the contractual agreement. Our money spent is now pending a claim with our credit card via purchase protection, after VRBO was not of much help. If you are a smoker, then I would say you will feel right at home. House was also dirty. Stains on carpet in Master bedroom beside bed. Urine stains running down inside of the toilet lids. No towels in master bath. Spiders (which can be expected).
Very quiet and relaxing with the exception of a little construction work above us but we understand the area is growing. Master bed mattress was way too firm for our liking. Master bathroom door did not latch and one of the upstairs bedroom window mechanisms did not work. We reported it but told them it was not a problem if they wanted to correct the issues after we left. We also found a bird trying to build a nest inside the gas grill but I cleaned it out and it worked fine. We had a power outage for about an hour after the storm rolled through late Friday night and again Saturday morning for about half a day due to all the wind the night before but we called Caney Fork power and they came out within couple hours sawed off the downed tree and got our power back on before 3pm. Not a big deal, stuff happens sometimes. Could have been a lot worse. None of the things I have just stated would not keep me from wanting to stay at Lago Vista again. Overall we had a very relaxing and enjoyable retreat with our family.
Everything was great well stocked with everything we needed. Only complaint was what I am assuming was remnants of glass from the fireplace door that was on the floor and one chair. The stay was wonderful and relaxing.
Beautiful place with everything you need inside beautiful view we want to come back in summer ?
Great vacation
Be careful driving up. Especially in a low sitting car. Big pot holes. Otherwise phenomenal Cabin. Beautiful Quiet Stocked.
Very relaxing and quiet surroundings, beautiful home and area to be in.
We enjoyed our stay :)
The cabin was very clean! We booked this cabin because it had a hot tub, however, we could not enjoy the hot tub because the chemicals were SO strong that our eyes were burning and it took the color out of our bathing suits. As a result, we only spent about 5 minutes in the hot tub and didn’t get in again. Also, the beds are super uncomfortable, to the point of the mattress sinking in the middle. The kitchen was described as a chef’s kitchen, but there were no oven mits, or pot holders, no dish cloths and only two kitchen towels. Overall, we enjoyed ourselves, but were very disappointed by not being able to utilize the hot tub.
Property is very nice. Really clean. Plenty of cooking equipment. No hot pads though. Road up is very rough but my Prius made it. Wouldn't try it except on a dry road. Beds VERY LUMPY. Same on couches. Everything else is VERY nice. Hot tub and Whirlpool really nice. Very peaceful and nice neighbors. Can't really see the lake unless you walk down the road a little bit but you can hear the boats easily.
The cabin is cute. It has the feel your looking for with a getaway experience, however, the road getting to the cabin is awful. Even for a truck, this would be a very bumpy ride up and down the slope. The mountain very is amazing.
