Nestled at the base of Tom Miner Basin, the cabin offers privacy and impressive views of the Yellowstone River, Tom Miner Basin, & Paradise Valley. Close to blue ribbon fishing access points and many other destinations and 30 mins from Yellowstone National Park

Reclaimed log from a 1906 cabin and aged barn wood creates a rustic ambiance with modern touches. The owners, Drew & Ellen, have designed the cabin with local materials and worldly treasures to reflect their love of travel and appreciation for local traditions & history.

We welcome a wide range of guests looking for a rustic, traditional Montana log cabin experience. This cabin offers all that, along with enough modern amenities to provide you with an enjoyable and comfortable holiday.

The cabin comprises a large open-plan lounge, dining room, kitchen, and full bathroom downstairs. A stone fireplace separates the kitchen and living room areas. In the upstairs loft, there is a cozy bedroom and half bath.

The living area is spacious with comfy couches, blankets, distance sitting areas, and a 40 flat-screen smart TV for relaxing at night. There is an office area in the corner with a desk, chair, lamp, and wifi that can be accessed throughout the cabin. The library shelves contain a range of novels and magazines and books on Montana wildlife, nature, Yellowstone National Park, and other Southwest Montana outdoor adventures. There is a range of art displayed on the walls, including the owner's photos (for sale on request) and art from around the world. Rugs from India cover the reclaimed wooden floors. A taste of Montana tradition is provided by taxidermied trout and a found elk skull and antlers that Drew treated and mounted himself.

There is a kitchen with all the amenities needed to cook and serve simple meals, including a gas oven and stovetop, microwave, hand mixer, food processor, various-sized baking dishes, basic cutlery, utensils, plate ware, and a coffee maker. The island is a good space for cooking, and the wooden dining table faces floor-to-ceiling glass doors for views of Tom Miner Basin and Yankee Jim Canyon. The tile on the kitchen island, countertops, and backsplash are from Dolores, Hidalgo, Mexico.

Behind the kitchen is a full bathroom with a claw-foot tub and rain-head shower. The stairs lead to the main bedroom in the cozy loft with a king bed and half bath.

For relaxing evenings, you can utilize the gas grill and eat at the outdoor table or sit in an Adirondack chair or one of the swinging benches on the wooden porches. You can choose your view from the various decks and porches: out towards Tom Miner Basin, Dome Mountain, the Yellowstone River Valley, Absaroka Mountains, or the Yellowstone River.

We do not have air conditioning, but we have fans, screened doors and windows, and blinds on all our windows. You can use these technologies in combination with each other to keep the cabin at a comfortable temperature. We provide information on how to do this if it is not something you are familiar with.

While we have screens, pest mitigations, and ensure the highest cleaning standards, you are in a log cabin in Montana, and in every season, you may encounter the odd insect inside and out.

If you want to stay in a beautiful log cabin with enough modern amenities to provide a fun and comfortable experience, we welcome you to our cabin in one of the most beautiful areas in the USA. If you are looking for a different kind of experience, something more like a higher-end hotel suite or housing, we recommend you look for accommodations built in a more modern style with modern materials.

Note
The shed at the top of the driveway belongs to the owner, who may access the shed when needed. They will do their best to let you know this beforehand. The shed is situated away from the cabin and its private outdoor spaces. The owner will introduce themself if you approach them and only ever approach the cabin's private outdoor spaces if the cabin's or guests' safety is in question.

This is the second time we have stayed in this wonderful cabin and hopefully it won't be our last. We love the location and the quaintness. It is quiet and feels like you are alone in the foothills but it is close to Gardiner and Yellowstone. Everything was perfect!

This was our second time staying at this sweet little cabin. We love this spot! Remote and private but an easy drive to the north entrance of Yellowstone. Gardiner is a great little town - check out the grocery store for all your food needs and the best selection of bourbon you’ll find outside of Kentucky! Definitely pay attention to the listing for this place - the driveway is no joke and there are some slight inconveniences that come with the remote location. It’s all described very accurately! The hosts are great and super responsive. We absolutely love this spot and I expect we’ll be repeat visitors for years to come!!

The cabin is fantastic—exactly as advertised. Communication was great. I cycled daily from the cabin along the Old Yellowstone Highway to Gardner. It is a rural cabin, so you may see a mouse or two, but there are no issues as long as your food is in the fridge or a secured cabinet. When the bridge is rebuilt, it will cut 20+ minutes from the drive into the park. That being said, it is a beautiful drive!

Had a wonderful stay at this beautiful cabin!! Well-appointed with everything you need for a remote getaway. Definitely pay attention to the listing - the description of the driveway and general area are absolutely accurate. It was a spectacular space to spend a couple of days enjoying all that Montana has to offer. The views are amazing, the wildlife abounds, the hosts are thoughtful in their attention to detail. Already dreaming of when we can return to enjoy coffee outside at sunrise.

Ellen was the perfect host! So kind and accommodating. We can not say enough good things about her cabin. Loved the location but not too far from things when wanting to venture out. The cutest, coziest, cleanest cabin. I would highly recommend staying with her :)

This being our first vacation in over 4 years, we did not know what to expect. We were blessed with the perfect getaway! The location could not have been better as it allowed a short drive, and easy access to Yellowstone Park. It was remote and private, allowing for incredible views, and interactions with nature. (Deer were prevalent daily, with a fawn wandering up to the cabin and bedding down in a bush early in the morning. A bald eagle also landed on our last night and watched us eat dinner on the porch swing.) The cabin was cozy, and quaint, and the perfect place to relax after exploring all that Yellowstone had to offer!

We had the best time at this property. The house is adorable and gives you that cabin feel. The views and all the wildlife (mule deer came right up to the house) also definitely made this place even better.
