Pioneer living in style! Sometime around 1890, a very talented Finnish builder crafted several traditional log buildings on Minnesota’s Iron Range. We are fortunate to have one of these well-preserved structures at the Green Gate property, and have masterfully updated it into a unique, historic home.

Stayed Aug 23, 2021The tiny cabin was just what we wanted. The pictures and descriptions were accurate. It is amazing how many amenities were available in such a small space...all the kitchen supplies, cooking utensils, pots and pans; fridge and freezer, etc. etc. The cabin has a wrap-around porch that allowed us to relax outside even when it rained. There was some road noise audible but not too distracting. Easy access to the Mesabi Bike Trail that we walked a couple of times in addition to the more traditional hiking trails in the area. Shawn was easily accessible and helpful. Would go again and consider winter snowshoeing and cross-country ski trips. We were unable to have an outdoor fire because of regional forest fires so want to go back for that, too!
