Heiden’s Hideaway. Private Community. 30 Min to Durango/Vallecito

The pictures do not do justice. You need to check it out for yourself! It is not to big and not to small, just right. We loved our stay and plan to book again if we go back to Colorado.

Property has a circle driveway making it easy to pull in and out. Property is very pet friendly. Property is nicely stocked with basic neccesities. Front door has a key pad, so you dont need to worry about a key.

This mountain cabin was spotless and incredibly well-maintained, making it feel comfortable and welcoming from the moment we arrived. Surrounded by beautiful natural scenery, it offered peaceful views and a perfect escape from everyday life. We especially loved relaxing outdoors and soaking in the quiet, fresh mountain air.

Host is great! Very accommodating. Place is cute and clean. Peaceful, quiet and tranquil property. Deer and turkeys in the yard every day. Stayed for a week with our dog.

We so enjoyed our Colorado mountain stay in Heiden’s Hideaway! An awesome cabin in Forest Lakes, a well stocked, cozy, comfortable, pet friendly cabin! Highly recommend and hope to return soon! Wild turkeys and deer visitors daily!

Nice and quiet, somewhat private. Great porch to drink some coffee on as you watch the deer grazing.

This place was awesome, the community is beautiful and secluded. Me and my wife and our two dogs enjoyed hiking the area and eating at the many pet friendly restaurants this area has to offer. As for the property it was truly a great experience. It was nice and warm when we first arrived and everything was very clean. It may look small from the pictures but it’s actually very spacious once you are there in person. We would definitely recommend this stay to anyone who wants to take a break from the city and explore nature!

Cabin was clean and cozy! Very cute place and great place to spend time with family and got to see a lot of wild turkeys and deer which was great! Did rain whole time we were there but still had a good time!

Awesome cabin! Fully stocked kitchen. Quiet and relaxing. We enjoyed the chipmunks and deer, and it was great hiking up the hill behind the cabin. The dogs enjoyed the cool weather and the hikes.

Getting there was time consuming but very quiet @ it was explained in detail. The cabin did have ample parking for our trailer that we appreciate!! Very nice.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Heiden's Hideaway. The accommodations were perfect and the surroundings were spectacular! We loved seeing the wildlife, fishing in the private lake and just walking in the neighborhood. We definitely look forward to an opportunity to return.

4th time in this beautiful cabin and it still NEVER GETS OLD! Well stocked and very comfortable. Love all the beauty and wildlife right in front of the cabin. Dear, Wild Turkeys, Chipmunks, Squirrels, and Blue Jays. The fishing at Vallecito is always fun. And love sightseeing in Durango and Silverton. Our dog loves it as well. The host was very nice and attentive. Cabin was clean and fully stocked. Around the cabin is unbelievably quiet, peaceful and serene. Surely one of our favorites. Recommend staying here.

My husband, myself and our chihuahua (Maggie) spent 6 glorious nights at the cabin. We were fortunate enough to extend our stay when our other plans fell through. Shannon was so peaceful and gracious to make our stay so fabulous.If we come back to the area we will definitely be looking into this home away from home.

The cabin was perfect for my husband and me. We also had our boxer with us, and there was plenty of room. Everything was exceptionally clean and well maintained. I highly recommend.

Heidens Hideaway is tucked way back up in the woods ( just when you think your GPS must be crazy, just keep going.) Yet, it was close enough for us to enjoy all that Durango and the surrounding area had to offer. The cabin was beautiful, clean and cozy. Our host was easily accessible via messages. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We would stay here again.

I stayed at the Hideaway with my wife and three children. The day was sublime. My children loved seeing all the wildlife: dear, raccoons, chipmunks, and birds. The temperature was perfect, and a nice reprieve from the hotter temperatures lower in the animus Rivervalley. I hope to stay here again, one day, and so do my children! Bonus: only 30 minutes to Durango, along some of the prettiest stretches of County Road in the world.

Second time staying here. We love it. We have family in Forests lakes so it’s convenient. If you ever have any last minute booking available at a reduced rate let me know. Have a family member who at times need a Place for a couple of nights. Thank you

Stayed here for a girls trip. Very lovely, we enjoyed it.

We loved staying in the beautifully decorated cabin. It was easy to find, if a bit further out of town than we expected. We enjoyed the quiet and the scenery and all the comforts of home. We had one problem with the washer, and the host was very responsive in getting it fixed. The elevation is about 8,000 feet, so keep that in mind if you are sensitive to altitude. We would stay here again.

This property was very nice and we thoroughly enjoyed it. It had a beautiful setting. We loved the cabin. It was very nice with great furnishings and very well stocked with everything one would need. The cabin was a little difficult to find and to come and go daily. The oven was very dirty and needed cleaning which we left a note for the cleaning crew to take care of. We saw deer, wild turkeys.

We had a great time here after all our trailing in the San Juans! Communication was great and the cabin was the perfect size for my family of 5!
