Thompsonville, Michigan
5 words for you...Not Your Average Tiny House...This tiny home will give you good vibes the second you pull in the driveway. The Little Wood Lodge is a vintage 1950's hunting cabin that has been reinvented into a gorgeous, meticulously detailed home that offers every amenity you could need. From the 1880's tongue and groove pine barn wood ceiling to the beautiful custom cabinets and granite countertops...comfort abounds. Situated in a soaring canopy of Oak, Maple, Elm and Pine trees, this is the escape you need.
The Little Wood Lodge is set on 8 private acres...there are "country neighbors" that you will pass by along the gravel road but no immediate neighbors to either side of our property. We are super close to some of Northern Michigan's most special places!

To say this place is adorable is an understatement. We knew we had to stay at this little charmer as soon as we seen it online. My husband and I are always intrigued by little houses and this little cottage did not disappoint. As soon as you approach this black with cedar trim cottage we knew this was a great choice. The inside was small and cozy and had everything you needed for a comfortable stay. It was clean and had every amenity including a washer and dryer. We could tell this place was loved by the owners as everything outside and inside was taken care of. Even the decor was whimsical and fun. We truly enjoyed our time here and would definitely come back if we are ever in the area. Thank you for being so accomodating and welcoming to your Little Wood Lodge.
The cabin was well kept and in good shape. We enjoyed the stay.
Amazing place, we loved the set up and the environment!! Beautiful at night time as well! We definitely enjoyed it ❤️
Very nice place, had everything we needed and close to our favorite places.
This property was charming, clean, and located very close to Crystal Mountain. We highly recommend it, and we plan to stay here again.
Awesome tiny cabin! We were expecting the cabin to be a bit more secluded or tucked deeper on the property from the description. That's the only negative about the place. Otherwise it's an awesome, and very cozy, place. Shawn goes above and beyond to make sure the cabin is stocked with everything you may possibly need. We had a great time, and would definitely stay there again in the future!!
We just love this place!! It is the perfect location for our ski weekends at Crystal Mountain and just the right size for our family. Thank you for letting us share your little slice of heaven!
We stayed here while skiing at Crystal Mountain and it was perfect for our family of 4. The house was the perfect cozy layout for us. Would definitely recommend if you are skiing at Crystal Mountain and are up for a tiny house experience!
This was a great little place for 2 people to enjoy a Michigan fall weekend. It was compact, but very comfortable, nicely decorated, good attention to details. We had everything we needed. We used the cabin as a home base, leaving for most of the day to explore everything there was to see in the surrounding area. We did lots of hiking in nearby parks, took the color tour up Route 22, stopping in all the little towns to shop, or eat. We visited the Michigan Sequoias, Point Betsy, Sleeping Bear Dunes, the Frankfort fall festival, and the Iron Fish distillery. The owner, Shawn, was in contact by text, but not intrusive. It was a perfect fall getaway! I would definitely stay here again, maybe next time during the summer.
We made a great decision when we decided to give up tent camping and stayed at Little Wood Lodge. Especially when it was 36 degrees when we woke up. The cabin is cozy, modern and comfortable. It is stocked with everything that you need. At first, our teenage girls were not excited to find out that the bunk beds were in the same room as the main bed. Once they crawled in, they found the phone charging plug, little shelf and comfortable bedding. They did not want to get up in the morning. Shawn was available by phone for questions and very helpful. This is a great place and we look forward to staying again in the future.
The little wood lodge had everything we could have imagined and more. The attention to detail, beautiful design and decor was impeccable! The covered porch, fire pit, hammocks, and fun games were wonderful!! The property is in a great location; close to Lake Michigan, kayaking, many inland lakes and rivers! We would highly recommend and would love to stay again!
Good location for m-22 adventures, very well maintained property with all amenities
Perfect for families with small children. Visits to Sleeping Bear and the Cherry Hut are a must! Shawn was great to work with when a few glitches came up before our visit. Everyone had a great time and the peacocks were a hit with the grandkids. would visit again.
The cabin itself is adorable and comfortable. For seeming to be in the middle of nowhere lots of activities were surprisingly close by. Having a washer/dryer in the cabin is a major plus, especially if one of you spends more time in the Crystal River than in their kayak.
This was one of my favorite places to stay. It was private, the setting was beautiful inside and out, and it was perfectly placed to explore the many attractions that were nearby. The owners, were very responsive to my questions and very helpful! I would definitely recommend booking with them! I know I'll be staying again!
This was a great place to stay that made it a short (under an hour) car ride to areas like Glen Arbor, Traverse City, Frankfort, and of course a very short drive to Iron Fish Distillery which was a great place for the whole family to play games, eat food and enjoy great beverages. The tiny house was the perfect size for our family of four, the boys befriended some peacocks, we had s’mores at the bonfire and the outdoor table was great place to eat meals. The reinvention of this hunters cabin was amazing and everything was well maintained and very clean. Could see this as a great place to stay to ski at Crystal Mountain and I’m sure we will be back.
The cabin was perfect for two of us. It was very clean and inviting. They had everything we needed and were very easy to communicate with. Overall a great experience!
