Stayed May 24, 2025We stayed at this property to go to a few different hiking spots in NW Alabama. We were only at the property for the evenings. The kitchen seemed to be stocked although we didn't use it other than a few dishes and refrigerator. The bed was comfortable. I will say this property is in a very rural area. There were goats and horses in the adjacent pastures which was neat. Of course being in the country does come with some unwelcomed guests like spiders and other insects so this should be expected. The house was clean, well furnished and met the online description. We visited Dismals Canyon, The Natural Bridge Park, Joe Wheeler State Park and many of the waterfalls in Bankhead National Forest during our stay. Be prepared to drive a bit of a distance to get to these great hiking places. Definitely worth the drive to hike these beautiful areas.

Stayed Oct 24, 2024Very peaceful and relaxing stay! Nicely decorated, quiet, pasture out the back door with nice porch for morning coffee. Unfortunately I had to cut my stay short due to family emergency, but will reserve again!

Stayed Nov 26, 2021My husband and I (and our Aussie) were looking for a quiet weekend away at a place that was dog-friendly, and Elsie Mae's cabin on Nita's farm fit the bill. The cabin is tastefully decorated, the kitchen was stocked w/necessary cookware, and she supplied us w/coffee and tea, as well as bottled water and a few snacks, which were greatly appreciated. We loved being able to grill on the back deck, but my favorite part was coming out in the morning with my coffee and visiting with the horses, mule, and goats. We plan to return in the future---maybe spring time?
