About The Cabin - Breakwater is a beautiful three bedroom one bathroom cabin set on the shores of Elbow Lake. It has a large private deck that overlooks the lake just feet away. The three bedrooms have one queen and four twin beds. It features a full kitchen with separate dining area. The living room is spacious with couches all around, a fireplace and breathtaking views of Elbow Lake. Stayed Jul 31, 2025Where else can you stay on the shore of the most beautiful lake in northern Minnesota, mere feet from the water? The lodge area is so peaceful you can hear the loons calling throughout the day and night. If you are looking for 5 star hotel amenities, this is not it. If you are looking for an authentic Minnesota north woods cabin experience, this is definitely your spot! Thanks, Bob and Elise, for an awesome time!

Stayed May 16, 2025My son and I wanted to get away for dark skies..so we traveled to Northern Minnesota where we would have a better chance at it. The weather was cloudy most of the time. Mid-May. Cooler temps meant no bugs and summer vacationer's were still a couple of weeks away.. the resort basically to ourselves..so it was a win in our books
