Deerwood-private, cozy cabin in the woods

It was quiet and we seen a lot of deer, wild turkeys, squirrels and redheaded woodpeckers. I didn't like the screen door. ( it was loud when it closed).

Deer Wood was a really lovely stay for our 21st anniversary. It was cozy, quiet, and peaceful. Off the beaten path a ways but also near enough to Mentone restaurants for options. Highly recommend.

This property lived up to its name for sure. We saw lots of deer and enjoyed the rainy weekend on the back porch. The tin roof was awesome. The bed was super comfy and the decor was so cute. We have stayed in mentone 3 times and used Delightful Retreats every time. All 3 properties were amazing and each one had a different experience. We will be coming back again and will definitely book with you guys.

Private and cozy. Perfect for taking your pups! Our dogs loved being able to explore the area. We brought our Pet Safe system and it worked great! Highly recommend for single travelers or a couple!

We enjoyed listening to the birds from back porch in the mornings, and the location was perfect for a weekend exploring the regions natural areas. Lovely place.

The cabin was fantastic!

The cabin was perfect! Very clean, very comfortable, immediately felt like home. Its tucked back in the woods and does not have close neighbors, which we loved. If I had to pick one thing that wasnt perfect, it would be the couch/futon. It wasn't super comfy but served its purpose fine. We LOVED the retro kitchen appliances and the other antiques and old timey decor. Coffee on the back porch watching the squirrels and the birds made for the best mornings and a warm fire in the outside fire pit finished our days with relaxation and good conversation.

Cabin was great. Very clean!! Host was in contact with us as soon as we checked in. Had everything we needed. Saw deer every morning. Mentone is the best getaway for someone wanting to get away from the touristy places. Highly recommend this place and we will be back.

Off the beaten path, surrounded by woods, yet only 4 miles to shopping and restaurants! Well furnished and cozy cabin.

Yes, the host was welcoming. The quiet location and amenities were perfect! We really enjoyed the wood-burning fireplace, fire pit, and screened in back porch. It was very peaceful and made for a restful stay.

The Deer wood cabin was clean, quiet, and very secluded; which I very much wanted. My stay was from Sept. 4-7.

The cabin was private, peaceful, and very clean. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed. The check in was easy. We saw deer and loved the outdoor space & screened porch and front porch. It was such a nice peaceful getaway!

This is our 2nd time staying here and it was just as great as the last time. The cabin was a great get away to relax and to rejuvenate ourselves, and the scenery was great. We will definitely make it a tradition to come once every year. Highly recommended staying here.

The cabin had everything we needed and was conveniently located. Enjoyed hiking and trips into Mentone and Valley Head.Unfortunately, the gravel roads were not in good condition.

We enjoyed our weekend getaway at Deerwood cabin so much! It was clean, comfortable, and homey. It is in the woods but close to town, the best of both worlds! We will be back!

We enjoyed our stay. The cabin was well supplied and very clean. The huge mattress was great and the electric blanket was very warming! Well stocked with firewood and charcoal which we enjoyed.

We stayed at Deerwood cabin during Easter weekend with our dogs. We enjoyed the weather, sitting on the front porch and grilling in the afternoon. The porch sitting in the morning with the beautiful sound of the rails of trains in the valley during coffee. Very relaxing watching stars and sunsets in the evening. The cabin was close to everything from grocery, gas and restaurants. We enjoyed a morning hike at Little River Canyon Preserve. Thank you for your great hospitality!!! Quiet and clean nice little cabin if you want peace and quiet this is your place

Our lives have been so busy with work, kids, and dogs, that we forgot to focus on romance. This place made it happen. Quiet and Secluded, but accessible. We had a fire inside with our morning coffee. Then an evening bonfire out back with smores. Loved that we got to reconnect.agreat little cabin

It was a very cozy and clean cabin with so many nice amenities including an electric blanket! A wonderful place to unplug from work! We were able to see some wildlife while sitting on the porch. Close to Desota Falls and loved the Wildflower Cafe!

Property not located at described place. Probably 10 miles away. Firewood was all green so unable to build fire. No charcoal or lighter to use the grill

Wonderful, isolated cabin in a very quiet area. The cabin floor plan is one of the best we have seen. Watching the deer was a new experience for my wife. She totally loved it.

Cabin and amenities are exactly as listed. Sits off the road for privacy and had all things needed for a weekend stay.

This is a beautiful , secluded cabin in the woods. We felt like we were alone in the forest- no neighbors in sight till you walk down to the road. The front porch is unique- mountain theme and the supports are real trees. The backyard has a nice fire ring and nothing but trees in sight. The inside has a country- chic/ retro decor with a large stone fireplace. The kitchen is well- equipped for cooking. The location is near state parks and trails We enjoyed leaf peeping along the Little River Canyon Pky and were amazed by the massive boulder formations in Mentone called The Citadel. For live music, we enjoyed Vintage 1889 Restaurant in Ft Payne Note- local restaurants keep strange hours here and aren’t open 7 days/ week. Plan on grocery shopping in Ft Payne at Food City and Bruce’s Food Land.
