Daniels Mountain Lodge is a secluded, spacious and luxurious log cabin, the perfect mountain getaway for families and friends. Just a short drive from more than 10 wineries, Shenandoah National Park/Skyline Drive, Charlottesville and UVA. The house is great for guests of all ages with plenty of space and amenities for kids to play. With 5 wooded acres of privacy, family-friendly, pet-friendly, a fully stocked kitchen, a large covered wrap-around porch and a fire pit, it's perfect to gather!r>
We are located atop a steep gravel road. 4WD vehicles are required to reach the Lodge (especially in inclement weather!) : )

You will have full access to the entire house and property.

This spacious modern lodge has 4 bedrooms and 2.5 baths. One bedroom is on the main level, one bedroom on the upper level, and two bedrooms on the lower level of the home. It's newly renovated and furnished. The home has high-speed broadband fiber-optic internet and it's a perfect location to work remotely. We hope you enjoy your stay!

The home is located atop a mountain and with lots of wooded privacy. Please be aware that Deer Path Road is a very steep gravel road and rather bumpy: 4 wheel drive vehicles are recommended during the summer, fall and spring and required during the winter months. At all times, a vehicle with higher clearance is required: lower clearance vehicles' undersides will easily be damaged. Please note that, in a mountain environment, ice and snow are often present during the winter months and freezing rain can cause icy conditions on the driveway and road. Use Apple maps to get there, we have found that Waze and Google maps does not take you the correct way. We also highly recommend getting to the Lodge during daylight hours so that you can more easily find your way. You will see the address sign to our house at the end of Deer Path and our driveway is paved. Please SLOW DOWN driving up and down Deer Path Road for the sake of the local residents.
The homeowner and Airkey will not be liable for any costs associated with road conditions, included but not limited to towing expenses.

Lovely home in a good location. We hiked high top mountain and made a visit to the glasshouse winery. Home was clean and well setup. We played lots of games in the family room and 6 sat comfortably at the table for dinners.

Property is beautiful. Views amazing. Kitchen is stocked with utensils and appliances. Nice jacuzzi bathtub if your bones ache. The road that leads to the property is adventurous. Go slow and you’ll be fine. Stores are less than 10 miles away if you forget anything. Perfect way to disconnect.

House was great and had everything we needed. Highly recommend. Large and private, but not quite secluded. Can see other houses. Mountain driveway is not to be underestimated. 4WD required and need tall clearance under car. It is 1-car wide and challenged when you meet another car coming the other way. Close enough to both Shenandoah for outdoor activities and C’ville for city attractions. Cleanliness great! Communication easy and prompt.

We are a family of 5. We have 2 adult children and a teenager, so space and sleeping set up is the #1 thing I look for when booking a VRBO. This house seemed to have the set up and bedding we needed-except we were highly disappointed that the listing details said there was a King Bed in the Master-when this was nowhere near the case. I think it was a Queen. I was so disappointed to arrive and there was not a king bed. I was really counting on that. Also, the electric in the upstairs bedroom continued to work off and on. That was frustrating as well. Overall, the house is beautiful, well appointed, and the bedrooms in the basement were perfect for our 21 year olds to have their own space The drive up to the home is no joke. You definitely need a 4-wheel drive if possible. I hope they update the master bedroom description, or perhaps reach out to those who are currently booked for upcoming stays, and let them know it indeed is not a King.

The cabin was just as described. As soon as you drive up to the Daniels Cabin we wanted to run inside. The place was stunning, welcoming and inviting a perfect welcoming to our large family. Our three large dogs enjoyed the expansive back yard. Thy enjoyed the trail that is right behind the cabin. A nice short walk was enjoyed daily. We enjoyed many wineries within about an hour from the cabin. You will definitely need Four wheel drive getting up to the cabin is bit bumpy. We truly enjoyed our time t th cabin. Thank you Josh and Heather

We stayed here for a weekend to attend a concert in Charlottesville and to relax a bit. The home and property are just as described. Everything was very clean and the kitchen was well appointed with plenty of dishes and a nice variety of spices. The property description is 100% correct that you need a 4 WD vehicle (and a confident driver…LOL) to get to the property but it is well worth it!
