Stayed Oct 13, 2023Well, everything about this cozy little cabin in the mountains of North Carolina was wonderful! It was built in the 1920’s, and has retained its charm while assuring the need for modern convenience and comfort. The property has a large half covered half open patio with plenty of seating with a grill. The deck overlooks a a beautiful stream that is so inviting to walk down to. We really enjoyed how peaceful, quiet and private it was. The drive on the mountain roads there are so beautiful. I definitely will be going back.

Stayed Jun 16, 2023Absolutely beautiful surroundings! The babbling brook, the beautiful trees as they were lightly blown by the wind and the hammock - what a wonderful addition. We spent a great deal of time just sitting on the front porch and soaking up nature. The home was clean and comfortable and perfect for my husband and I and our two boys. The beds were comfortable as well! We are looking forward to coming again! Excellent hosts!

Stayed Aug 16, 2022What a lovely place! Tucked away in the mountains, quiet, charming. A perfect getaway. Spotlessly clean. The single bath and no dishwasher might be an issue for a larger family but that didn’t matter to us. The beauty of the setting and the delight of that “cozy cabin” made for a wonderful getaway.

Stayed Apr 6, 2026This cabin was absolutely wonderful for us! We loved being away from the crowd and enjoying the solitude. It's so cozy with cute decor and with everything we needed and more. Very well furnished and lots of extra little touches that made our stay perfect. After a day of hiking and chasing waterfalls, it was great to kick back and relax. It was a little cool to sit on the deck in the morning and evening, but I sure wish we could have because it's a beautiful setting. The host sent us a message, checking to see if we had everything we needed and I appreciate that.

Stayed Mar 27, 2026This rustic farmhouse is in a lovely neck of the woods with lots of mountain laurel. My dog loved the creek and it was where she could run around off leash. I loved it. If a rustic farmhouse with privacy is what u want then book it!

Stayed Feb 22, 2026Our visit to Cozy Cabin was fantastic! The space is so charming and comfortable. Even in the cold February winter, the flowing stream was so beautiful and peaceful. We loved the warm fireplace and cozy throw blankets. The beds are incredibly comfortable too. The kitchen is well appointed and had everything we needed for preparing our meals. If you are looking for a quiet romantic getaway close to Highlands and Cashiers, this is your spot! Thank you for such a lovely stay!

Stayed Sep 26, 2025Great cabin for a mountain getaway! Loved the location deep in the woods, away from traffic and crowds. The only other beings I saw were deer! We were visiting with other friends in Highlands and needed a clean, affordable place to stay without pets due to our allergies! All pictures are accurate! I love the uniqueness of the building and surrounding structures, and that the character of the home was maintained with the updates. Thank you!

Stayed Aug 17, 2025Secluded, quiet, and peaceful… no traffic noise, just the rush of that Brook. We did not unplug completely… WiFi and TV was more than adequate. Comfortable living space for 4. Our week was mostly cloudy if not rainy. So, we spent much of our time in the cottage reading books, playing games, TV and on the web. But the cabin is very comfortable in those conditions. Shops in Cashiers (east) are a 15-20 min drive; 25 min to Highlands (west) depending on traffic (it’s a slow go 3 pm to 5). Ingles grocery store in east Cashiers… they have everything. This was a return visit, our second time. The host, Gig is very responsive and accommodating. We plan to return again next summer.

Stayed Jul 21, 2025Surrounded by the woods with a beautiful brook to thoroughly escape the big city and suffocating heat was exactly what I was looking for!! Gig, the host was very communicative, the cabin was a perfect location, near Cashiers, multiple waterfalls and hiking trails, with Internet, a very comfortable bed, and a functional kitchen & washing machine and dryer available. A rare VRBO generous to allow my two small pups, who also enjoyed this gorgeous property! Highly recommend!

Stayed May 16, 2025The house was very cozy and quaint. The furniture was comfortable and the views were outstanding. The Brooke was close by the deck and you could definitely hear it gurgling as it passed through. The owners were extremely helpful and responded immediately to any request or concerns. Really wonderful location and House. We had one problem and the owners worked hard to correct it. We had a storm the first night which knocked out the Internet, but they immediately contacted the provider and found a repair person to come and try and fix the problem. Other than that, everything was smooth the house was comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay.

Stayed Aug 26, 2024We enjoyed our 3 night getaway to the Cottage. It was comfortable, restful and quiet. Off the beaten path, yet it was a 15 minute ride to Cashiers or Highlands. We cooked steaks on the grill and enjoyed the outside furniture while reading, and internet surfing. Birdie, our English Springer Spaniel played in the woods and the Brook. Mike is a fly fisherman. Jackson County offers a great many streams. The cottage had brochures for excursions… We did two: 1) a rigorous hike from Glenville Lake to High Falls on W Fork of Tuckasegee. It’s 3/4 mile one way but a 300 ft plus elevation drop. Caught an 8” Brook Trout in pool below falls. Coming back out will get your heart rate up. 2) Day trip to the Chatooga River south of Cashiers and Highlands. We had a pleasant picnic and I flyfished. If we have any complaints… the largest mattress is a little soft for us. And the outside needs some cobwebs brushed down. These are minor things. It is an old cottage, simple, quaint and restful. Gig our host is a gracious gentleman and a brother in Christ. He was very responsive to our emails. He loved Birdie. We plan to return to this Cashiers Cottage in 2025. Mike & Marita

Stayed Aug 24, 2024very modest little cabin, but homey. Porch is very relaxing, with good seating. Kitchen small but efficient. Bed comfortable but definitely a soft mattress. Nice black out curtains in main bedroom. Sure wish we could have gotten some sports channels on the TV. No SEC, ESPN, Braves network (that we could find). A suggestion: Might pressure wash the outside so the windows (with cobwebs) could be opened for the evening air. Might need screens to. Hate to let that NC mtn air go to waste.

Stayed Jul 20, 2024My sister and I had a very relaxing and enjoyable time at Gigs place. The cabin is surrounded by beautiful trees and the little creek running through added to the serene atmosphere. We were visited by dear, turkeys, bunnies and even a skunk (we gave him his space…lol) The cabin was clean and well appointed with everything we needed for our 3 week stay. We hope to visit again next year. Gig is a great host! You won’t be disappointed if you choose this spot!
