Stayed Jun 23, 2025Great little place to stay to enter the NE Entrance of Yellowstone. I was there by myself to hike and see wildlife and boy did it deliver. Cooke City is VERY small town with no cell service, but Elk Horn Lodge has wifi. There are a handful of places in town to eat if you don’t want to cook. The cabin was clean and the hosts are attentive and kind. Jeff even loaned me a fishing pole for the week although I never ended up using it. Super friendly folks around Elk Horn Lodge. Entry into Yellowstone is a breeze from this side. I waited in line at the entrance only once behind two cars- the rest of the time I was the only one around at the entrance. It was unbelievable compared to the other gates. Also a perfect spot to drive the opposite way to go over the Beartooth Highway and Chief Joseph Highway. Highly recommend both drives and the Elk Horn Lodge.

Stayed Jun 23, 2024This location is perfect!! Small town with great charm and from the cabin you can walk everywhere. Shopping, restaurants and best of all no line to get into yellowstone. The cabin is very clean and comfortable.

Stayed Feb 15, 2024The cabin was nice. It has a kitchenette, so preparing meals was convenient. Cooke City is a very small town, with no cell service, and limited eateries and supplies. So we brought all of our food, including meals that we premade, and just heated up. We came to watch the wildlife in the Lamar Valley in Yellowstone National Park, and Cooke City is minutes away from the East end of the park. Which is a big plus. Our hosts were so friendly and helpful, it was wonderful. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

Stayed Jan 28, 2024The cabin was nice. Having to turn the heat down to 60 when out for the day was a drag because it was cold when coming back from a cold ski and the thermostat didn’t seem to match to the heating unit. Everything was fine other than that.
