Classic Vermont Cabin on 2.5 acres Lake Frontage

Cozy comfortable cottage! Not on the lake itself but the dock and rowboat were wonderful!!

The cabin was wonderful. It was exactly what we had in mind. It was quiet, and comfortable. We very much enjoyed the screened in porch.

The keys were not where owner said they would be; owner did not respond to email and phone messages about keys. We said we would be late, and it was stressful being left out in the dark waiting for an answer that didn't come. eThe bathroom was not very clean - dropped an earring by toilet base and it was disgusting. The fridge was also not clean. Says it's on 2.5 acres and sounds private, but there's less than an acre in the yard and two houses right behind you where you are fenced off from most of what seems to be the 2.5 acres. The bedrooms are very small - small one is tiny for any adult, and the futon bed is very uncomfortable. The place could use some repairs. Worst of all, a half-hour before checkout time, someone showed up itching to get in, and tried to barge in while we were packing out 20 minutes before checkout time! She was rude, pretended not to notice our dog that does not like to be crowded by strangers, and has no business invading privacy befofre checkout time - especially without asking or any notice. Again, it was hard to get an answer where to leave the keys and the owner never said please or thank you for being concerned about properly placing the keys when leaving. All in all very rude, and you can't barge in on people unnanounced before checkout time. Also, provoking our dog like that is a horrible way to end a visit esp. when you say you are pet-friendly. I particularly resent being treated like we were leaving late when we actually left 10 min ahead

I would not recommend this property. The cottage is tired and in need of a complete cleaning and overhaul. The toilet was not clean as well as the sink in the bathroom. I did take pictures in case the host wants to make a comment after I leave this review. The beds were uncomfortable to sleep in. The queen bed was as hard as a rock. My friend had a backache everyday. The bedrooms were not clean. They were dusty and had cobwebs. Mine also had a spider in it. The window shade in the small bedroom was old and broken. There was a toenail on the floor of the bedroom my friend slept in. The furniture in the living room was not comfortable to sit on. It was so low to the ground, you felt like you were sitting on the floor. The light over the dining room was dirty with dead bugs in the globe and dead fruit flies on the shade of the light. The tablecloth on the dining room table didn’t look to be clean.We also thought it was odd when the host came back to the cottage to work on his laptop because his cousin’s WiFi had gone done. This was after the host showed us around and gave us the keys. We were in the cottage about 30 minutes when the host returned and asked us if he could finish out his work day and use the WiFi in his cottage. What were we to say??? This creeped us out.Would I recommend this cottage? No. Save your money and find another place to rent. I’m surprised VRBO doesn’t check the properties they put on their site. Very disappointed in this rental.

They call this a cabin, but this is more a rustic house in my opinion, but maybe because I don't have a great opinion of cabins in general, lol. The fenced in yard was perfect for my pug dogs. I was shocked at how well stocked this place was. They had items in the kitchen that I didn't know existed. I only slept in one of the beds, but it was comfortable and the pillows were fluffy and so nice. If this is available for next year's event weekend, I'll reserve again.

We enjoyed our stay. They have everything you need for a comfortable vacation.

Absolutely fantastic property. The camp location was everything I had hoped for and was equipped with everything I needed to cook with as far as the kitchen goes, cozy but actually large living room, the screened in porch was my favorite spot to read. Lake access was private and simply beautiful. I have already booked for next year's stay.

porch and dining room, and all downstairs, really, can be all open windows so you are getting all the air; kitchen is really good for cooking and fully equipped; swim out to the floating dock and get the best view of the lake. Thanks!

Charming but deeply worn house. The hosts were lovely, though, and the lake was great.

Visiting family in Vermont, very charming place to stay, quaint, quiet, fun in the lake, grandkids visited, great cookout, although the steps to the one bedroom were challenging for my handicapped wife, never thought a futon would be so comfortable, especially for me, at 6’2”, 260 lbs, it was great, we had loads of fun, short trips to restaurants, and another visit to Tom and Jerry’s, thanks so much, it was awesome, will be back!

The place is just ok. The ceilings are under 7 feet. There’s a lot of stuff in the cabin ranging from kid gates to high chairs to uninstalled window unit A/C to many pots piled on top of the fridge. There were dishes in the sink when we arrived (probably clean?). The hand soap in the bathroom was empty. It just didn’t really meet a standard beyond… fine. Would not recommend.

What a great place to stay close to Middlebury college. My wife and I were visiting our son at Middlebury college. We brought our Labrador Retriever. What a great dog friendly neighborhood! Brian was very accommodating and even let us check in hours early. It was great to have a fenced in yard. It's a quiet and beautiful neighborhood! We will always try to stay here when visiting our son.

Beautiful area for short 4 day stay . Cabin was clean and cozy. Well stocked for pretty much anything . Only dislike was the bedroom was in a loft area with narrow steps , and a bit tough to navigate in the middle of the night when the restroom was needed . Loved the quaintness otherwise .

My partner, dogs, and I just got home from our third vacation at this cabin on Lake Dunmore. We always feel welcome and right at home, love the cozy cabin vibes, and spending as much time at the lake or hanging out on the porch to take in the Green Mountains. Can’t recommend staying here enough!

Couldn’t be happier with this quaint, charming cabin. Loved the wood floors , screened porch , and mostly the large fenced yard and the dock for ball throwing with our goldens . The area is so peaceful and quiet this time of year . Took a hike around silver lake . Loved every moment of this fall getaway , hoping to come back again.Many Thanks to the hosts !

We met Polly at the house for a quick meet and greet and orientation. The house is very comfortable and had everything we needed. Grocery stores, shops, etc. are a brief drive. Enjoyed hearing the geese and owls and watching the mist rise from the water in the morning. Would happily visit again!
