Ithaca, New York
Welcome to our beautiful three bedroom, two bathroom cape cod style cabin! Whether you’re here to visit the wineries, go hiking in the gorges, or explore downtown Ithaca, our home is conveniently located - right between Seneca and Cayuga Lakes and just 10 minutes away from downtown Ithaca. The cabin is perfect for a family trip, a couples weekend, or a best friends’ getaway!
The Space
The home sits at the top of a hill on five beautiful acres of land. The entire house and yard is available to our guests including the outdoor firepit area, wrap-around porch with a huge deck, and plenty of parking space.
The inside is cozy and inviting with lots to do! Watch movies on our large screen Smart TV, enjoy some board games, or just lounge in front of the fireplace. The kitchen was recently updated, with new appliances. We also have basic cooking supplies, dinnerware and silverware, and teas and coffees.
The cabin can comfortably sleep six. Two bedrooms are located on the first floor, one with a queen bed and the other with a full size. Both have ample closet space and full length mirrors if you’re planning to make a longer trip. The bathroom on the first floor has a handicap accessible indoor jacuzzi and shower, as well as a washer and dryer.
Upstairs, in the loft space, you’ll find the third bedroom, with a queen sized bedroom and lots of closet space. The loft also has an adorable reading nook and a desk and working space, perfect for your work from home (away from home) needs!
We also have an outdoor space. You’ll be able to grill a delicious meal and dine on the patio or head down to the yard and sit around the firepit. The lighted space will be perfect for gathering around the fireplace and spending time outside even after dark! The deck also has an awning to keep shaded and cool during the summer months.
The cabin is located about 10 minutes from downtown Ithaca - find food, bars, museums, and other exciting things to do. The Cayuga Lake Wine trail is just 15 minutes away; Seneca Lake Wine Trail is not far either! There are a number of hikes and beautiful waterfalls minutes away if you’re hoping to spend some time in nature. We’ve compiled a list of places to eat, drink, and visit for our guests.
Guest Access
You have access to the entire outdoor space, except the pond. Please do not go into the pond. Both sheds are also off limits.
Guests can park outside the garage and access the cabin using the smart lock at the front door.
Other Things to Note
Have a good time! We have a septic system, so please be mindful of what you put down the drain. Please do not flush anything but toilet paper down the toilet.
Perfect, no fuss cabin to get away for a few days with family. Easy access, not too from any necessities, and had everything we needed for a good visit. Thank you
Overall nice property to stay. The kitchen/ livingroom area was very clean and functional for our family. The bathrooms were a bit tight for taller guests, though our 3yo loved the tub. We couldve used a few more kitchen towels and maybe check the door knobs to the first floor rooms? We kept getting stuck and needed some to help from the other side. Thanks for letting us stay in your home.
Beautiful house, exactly as described. Plenty of room, two full baths, a big bonus, and only a quick ride into the town of Ithaca. Our host was super responsive to a questions. We would definitely go back. Wonderful time to reconnect with family!!!
We enjoyed our stay at this property. The kitchen was well stocked. We found the place very comfortable and clean. The location was perfect, we were 10 to 15 minutes from everything we wanted to do. We had a few minor issues with things and the owner responded immediately. Problems were easily solved via text. We loved the firepit but were disappointed that the lights shown in the photos didnt work.
A few friends and I stayed here for a quick mid-winter visit and it was great! 10-20min from Ithaca and surrounding State Parks. The cabin was very cute and cozy. Everything was clean and there was plenty of amenities for us- utensils, pots/pans, coffeemaker, towels, etc. If it was warmer out we would’ve loved to make use of the nice porch and fire pit. We had a small issue checking in, but the host was punctual getting back to us to help. Great place to stay!
Was looking for a break from NYC when my friends and I stumbled upon this gem. Easy drive from the city and was very impressed when we got there. Cozy cabin, had some great stars at night, and great communication from the hosts. Will definitely stay again.
Cabin was great and clean. Communication with the host was timely and seamless. Location in a central location that was close to many things. Definitely enjoyed our stay. One suggestion is to have a step stool to access the controls on the dryer as I am a little short LOL
The house was beautiful! We enjoyed our stay very much! A couple of things would have made our stay a little better were to have more towels and wash cloths available for use. We did let the owner know of a few minor things that needed attention, one we forgot to mention was the blind on the far left French door was broken.. I would recommend the place.. it was lovely!
The Ithaca area is beautiful, and this VRBO house is well situated to enjoy the area. Between waterfall hikes, wine country tours and Cornell University, there is a lot to do. I looked fairly extensively for houses and condos in the area and this house price is comparatively very reasonable. The internet service was fast, and the owners were very responsive to questions. The house itself is nice, as it seems to have been recently refurbished. The furniture appears to be new, although the furniture quality is on the lower end and relatively uncomfortable. The upper tray of the dishwasher was usable but difficult to use because the track system was broken. (I alerted the owner of the issue and it may be fixed in the future.) The house could use a larger coffee maker for groups of more than two people. The water in the house also had a strong odor of sulfur so we ended up buying bottled water to drink. We really enjoyed our stay, and overall the house met our requirements. A great location and a good price made up for the few deficiencies we experienced. I would rate this VRBO a 3.5 star accomodation.
Very nice cabin in a nice quiet location. Although it is advertised to be able to accommodate up to 6 people, the amenities make it less than desirable. First of all, there is no way to make ice, no ice trays. Secondly, the coffee maker is adequate for one coffee drinker or two light coffee drinkers but required brewing 3 pots to accommodate the 4 people in our party so that each of us could have 2 cups. The pillows on the beds were quite cheap and there were not enough. Thankfully, I brought my own pillow and the others were able to scavenge a couple from the extra bed and the bedroom closet to get by, but were definitely not comfortable. Furniture in the living area was pretty uncomfortable except for one chair, and the arm of the sofa was falling off. Silverware was lacking--there were not enough forks for 4 of us to get through a meal without running the dishwasher or hand washing a fork. There were also a couple of measuring cups missing in the set, which added to the difficulty of making meals. The water had a funny taste & smell to it. I realize that it is supplied by a well, but the water should be tested and perhaps filtered. It tasted a bit like iron and had a sulfur smell to it. There were enough bath towels, but no hand towels. The shower curtain in the main-floor bathroom is light blocking, so you have to shower in the dark. I realize that the owners are wanting to make some money and minimize their expenditures, but for the price charged for this rental I expected more.
We really enjoyed staying at this cabin. It was central to many of the hiking and wineries we wanted to visit. After a long day, it was great to have a place to go back to that was roomy and felt more like a home than a cramped hotel. The owners were absolutely amazing about communicating with us. We highly recommend this property.
We had a great weekend stay with family and friends. A short drive to Ithaca and all the sights. Everything was wonderful, highly recommend this property.
Very nice and clean house. Owner was very responsive to questions. Especially nice to have a washer and dryer in the house. Highly recommend this place.
Great log home minutes from downtown Ithaca (and even closer to Ithaca Beer Co. which is a great place for food and drinks). Owners were very responsive and provided everything we needed for our visit. Loved the property - really enjoyed the fire pit and stargazing from the back yard was terrific. Highly recommend for families or up to 3 couples traveling together.
