Huntingdon, Pennsylvania
The most popular activities in our area revolve around Raystown Lake and Allegrippas Trail. Our cabin is about 5 miles from each destination. Located on a 6.5-acre wooded property, the cabin has 3-bedrooms (sleeps 8). Completely furnished with most of the comforts of home, we rent by the night or by the week from March 1 thru December 15 (weather permitting). We have a 2 or 3-night minimum, depending on the time of year. We may rent by the month with the rate dependent on the month(s) requested.
Raystown Lake is a popular waterway in south central Pennsylvania. The 29 mile long lake and surrounding area are owned in large part by the federal government with several state-owned parks and forests close by. It is a wonderful area to spend a family vacation with great hiking, hunting, boating, swimming, fishing, and bird watching. Other popular attractions include caverns, railroading, lake cruises, boat rentals just to mention a few. For golfers, Huntingdon Country Club offers a public golf course about 4 miles north of us. Volunteers have recently created the Allegrippis Trail which is popular with biking enthusiasts. Fishing tournaments frequent the area and Barbecue at the Beach is held in September. During your stay, you are likely to catch glimpses of even a bear swimming across the lake or a bald eagle returning to its nest.
The cabin is also only 10 minutes drive from Juniata College in Huntingdon, PA and about 45 minutes drive from Penn State University main campus in State College, PA
Some annual events include Dirt Fest at the Allegrippis Trail, the K-Bass Tournament (Fishing) and Creation Christian Music Festival in June. A vacation in Raystown will be one to remember for years to come. Can't take a week off Visit us for a long weekend or, even better, come during the week for a discounted price!
The host was very easy to contact, but the cabin definitely was a bit small for the amount of people it sleeps. It was also pretty dusty. But we all had a great stay, so I would generally recommend it if you’re looking a relatively cheap place for a weekend getaway!
The cabin was a bit shabbier than we expected! There was a wire from the shower door frame to the shower head!!! Holding it on I guess?? And the tub itself had a lot of cracks in it! The stair railing was certainly not up to code! For the price we paid we expected more.
We were in touch with Ms. White, in a timely manner-upon arrival. We stayed 3 nights/4 days. The space was more than adequate. We were 2 - could have slept about 10 comfortably. The kitchen was well equipped with about all you would need to prepare a meal. The place was clean and tidy. One thing which was unpleasant - we found and removed - a wasp in the kitchen. This was our last night there, and I suppose it could have gotten in by way of the front door. Also, there was an odor like urine, upon entering the cabin - but once inside a room, the smell dissipated. I think the owner did all they could about it, having a dehumidifier run all the time. The location was perfect for our comings and goings (particularly Raystown Lake). Please provide instructions on the use of the heating system as we didn't get it figured out until the 3rd night of our stay! Not sure we would stay here again...
Whar an adorable cabin in the woods! 5 minutes from 7 points marina, but secluded enough that you felt you were in the country. Kitchen was very well stocked with utensils plates and pots and pans. We loved our time here!
.
Loved everything about this cabin. Was there for a week no problems. Will be back to stay here again. Great hot water. If i was closer i would come here several times a year.
Always love staying at the cabins, this was the first time in the bigger cabin but it was perfect for the 3 small grandkids while on spring/Easter break from school, can't wait to come back to the smaller cabin in just under 2 weeks for my anniversary.
This little cabin was perfect for a quiet getaway in the woods for my boyfriend and I. The surrounding area was beautiful as well.
It was great except for barking dog at 6am for hours and burning kerosene smell
Quiet rustic cabin just what we needed
Easy to find, road leading to property itself needs leveling and maintenance. Beds stiff and uncomfortable. Kitchen basics old and outdated. The area and it’s natural beauty made the stay a pleasant one. I think the overall price point was high for this rental although it’s location was great.
Everything was awesome. The cabin was perfect for our evenings off the water. The porch was large enough to have our coffee bar, eating and playing cards/games. The cabin is only minutes from Seven Points Marina. We would stay there again.
Only there for about 1 day.
What a great weekend! The cabin was so cute and so clean. There was a lot of room and had everything we needed to enjoy the weekend. The cabin was very close to grocery stores, gas, and only 10 minutes to the lake. Definitely will be booking again!
Wonderful cabin..nice amenities..close to town but a great mountain charm!!! Highly recommend
Myself, my husband, my sister, brother in law, niece and dogs all stayed at cabin 4. This was the perfect getaway, secluded in the woods but only a 10 minute drive to the lake. We swam, we grilled, we had fire pits and watched scary movies. If you're looking for a peaceful relaxing vacation, this is the place!
Very nice, couldn’t have asked for a nicer little place. We had a great time and will definitely be back.
Well we got to the cabin late in the evening when we opened the front door the cabin was so welcoming it felt like someone took the idea for a cabin out of my mind it was very comfortable close to areas I wanted to go it was totally worth it and I will def book it every time I go there thanks to the owners
This was a wonderful experience. It was a cold day when we arrived and the heat was already on in the cabin.Everything we needed for cooking was there.pots, pans, untensils and a coffee maker.I have a 16 ft.boat there was plenty of room to park.Over all this was a great experence.Thank yoju!
This was such a nice place to get away for the weekend without pitching a tent. The weather was touch and go so being able to be warm inside was such a nice option. The property manager was very nice and the place was very clean. Can't wait to book again!
