Black Bear Cottage - Cozy 1921 Cottage in Historic District above downtown Estes

Perfect for us in every way.

Our stay at Black Bear Cottage was once again outstanding. The cottage was immaculate. All amenities were top-rate, especially the well-equipped kitchen. We hope to repeat our stay next year. Ken and Nancy, our hosts, provided what we needed for a relaxing, refreshing after-Christmas respite.

Three hostess was very amenable and welcoming. The little cabin was exactly what we were looking for when searching for a place to stay in Estes Park.

The cabin was cozy and comfy and nicely decorated for the holidays. We spent a lot of time resting and relaxing by the fire, which we loved!

It was perfect!

Black Bear Cottage is simply perfect in every way….

The cabin was cozy and comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed. Everything was clean and well thought out. We used the fireplace every morning while we had coffee and every night before bed. The location to town and the park was perfect!

Great location- walking distance fromTown, cute house and lots of room for 2 people.

Nancy’s cabin was amazing and she was a thoughtful fantastic host! We loved all the elk and deer that came to visit!

Cabin was very clean and comfortable. It just wasn’t in an ideal location.

We enjoyed staying in this little cabin but didn’t enjoying being surrounded by neighbors. We couldn’t tell from online photos that the cabin was located in town and so closely surrounded by other homes.

This was my third year in a row staying here and I've loved it each time! This time I brought my parents with me and they were just as happy and comfortable as me. I continue to be impressed by the cleanliness, comfort and convenience of this cabin, as well as the kindness and thoughtfulness of the owners, Nancy and Ken. I plan to continue visiting Estes Park every summer and as long as I visit Estes Park, this is where I plan to stay. Thank you Nancy and Ken for yet another wonderful stay in Estes Park!

Peaceful, cozy cottage with everything to make us comfortable.

Fantastic stay. Great place, very very clean, completely furnished with everything you could want. A short walk to center of town and less than 10 minutes to RMNP. I would definitely recommend this place.

Lovely cottage tucked away. Very comfortable. Especially enjoyed the hummingbird feeder at the breakfast table and the shady parking was a plus. 70 degrees on the heater was perfect and flip the switch for the fireplace for nice ambiance while reading a book.

Nice cabin for two. Close to downtown but still feels like you are away from the crowds. Excellent views from the front porch.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Black Bear Cottage! This is actually our second stay, the previous was 3 years ago. The cottage is still as quaint as ever. Very well appointed with outdoor seating, gas grill and very walkable to downtown. Can’t beat watching the annual 4th of July fireworks from the front deck either. No need to figure out parking or deal with traffic. It was the perfect stay!

Our stay at the Black Bear Cottage can be summed up in two words: ABSOLUTELY PERFECT!

This cottage was cute, cozy, and comfortable. We enjoyed our down time here after 3 busy days of hiking in the very nearby Rocky Mountain National Park. The bed is comfortable, kitchen is well-supplied, and we used the nice grill and patio for dinners. Communication with Nancy was great, and she even left treats for us! It is also a very close walk to downtown. Would highly recommend!

Black Bear Cottage is cute, clean, cozy, comfortable and convenient. It is perfect for a two person getaway to Estes and RMNP. Nancy is a fantastic host and really stays on top of communicating to check on any needs.

We miss Black Bear Cottage already. That little stone fireplace is calling our name. Black Bear is a charming, vintage cottage with updates that make it convenient and perfect. After exploring Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park, it was good to come home to Black Bear and curl up with a book in front of the fire place or watch TV. We enjoyed the very minute of it.

Outstanding amenities, great location close to downtown, will stay there again. Immaculate inside. Clear directions for anything electronic.

Wonderful just and cabin!

Adorable cabin It had absolutely everything you could want .. Such an easy walk to downtown Estes Park .

Nancy ensures complete cleanliness, and anticipates your every need. The cottage is so tastefully decorated, making for a warm and homey home away from home. The location is central to wherever you would like to go. We have stayed at Black Bear several times and have never been disappointed!

My husband and I had a wonderful time staying at the Black Bear Cottage. The cabin was very clean and had everything we needed. The location was wonderful - we walked downtown everyday after our amazing hikes to eat dinner and have ice cream. The first afternoon we were at the cabin, I was sitting on the porch and heard a noise behind me - it was a Mom and baby mule deer. So amazing to see so close up. Nancy was a wonderful host and even left some treats (which were great after hiking) and mints. We enjoyed everything about the cabin and would recommend it 100%.

Nancy is a caring and thoughtful hostess. The Black Bear cottage was clean, comfortable, and well appointed. She provided lots of small amenities! Wonderful stay!

We greatly enjoyed our stay in Black Bear Cottage. It was quiet, comfortable and cozy, and had everything we needed for a week long stay. The location is perfect -- close to downtown, Lake Estes, the National Park and Safeway. We also enjoyed watching the hummingbirds and sitting on the shaded porch with our beverage of choice after a long day of hiking. We can't wait to return.

Enjoyed the cool weather and setting on the deck! We are already planning a return trip! The place was exactly as advertised and we had no issues! Had a few issues with the Roku and hostess tried to help, she said it was new to them so they will get it figured out! Our only suggestion is a hand rail on the steps up to the deck would be helpful!

Black Bear Cottage was perfect for all of our needs. Very close to many entrances of RMNP, the location allowed us to enjoy some great hiking. We came back to relax on the deck before walking into town for enjoyable meals. The hosts had wonderful snacks for us, the check in process was easy, and their communication was great. We would not hesitate to stay here again!
