Northville, New York
3 bedrooms, 2 baths, living room/dining room, kitchen and beautiful enclosed porch facing the Great Sacandaga Lake. The house has 250 feet of waterfront property and a dock. Lake and mountain views greet you from large picture windows. This property is near NYS hiking trails. It is a 30 minute drive to Saratoga Springs and 7 minutes to the quaint town of Northville.
This cabin was perfect! Well stocked and very clean. The inside is a lot bigger than it looks in the photos. Nothing fancy but certainly not bare bones. Felt comfortable as soon as we walked in the door. Sitting outside on the chaise lounges watching the sunset each night was so calming. The cabin sits far enough off the road that you barely hear any road noise. The property is steep, but the terraces gave my dog enough walking room and small play area. We mostly hiked some nearby trails, but next time plan on bringing a boat to explore the vast lake. Towns of Edinburg and Northfield have all the basic needs. Roberta (host) easy to reach and responds immediately with any questions. I've stayed at a handful of rentals, but this one is number 1 on my list.
We arrived to a very clean property. It was actually more spacious than I had expected and very well stocked with kitchen needs, Bedding was very comfortable. Two bathrooms were great .Plenty of room for family to gather either in the main living space or the screened in porch. Perfect view of Beautiful sunsets. Neighboring houses are visible but not overly close. All in all was a great place to spend the week.
We stayed at The Fox Den Labor Day weekend. Roberta was a great host. She was readily available to answer all my questions. The house was very clean and had everything you need for your stay. We were a total of 3 people but one morning we had 5 family members over for breakfast and there was plenty of space. The view of the lake was absolutely amazing. We were in town for a family reunion and the house was located less than a 10 minute drive to our family. The only recommendation I have is to add a few Adirondack chairs outside and a firepit. Other than that do not hesitate to rent this house. It will not disappoint.
We thoroughly enjoyed staying at the Fox’s Den! The house was very clean, spacious, and even had amenities such as sheets, towels, cooking utensils and condiments that we didn’t need to worry about! We absolutely loved the sunroom and enjoyed having all of our meals in there. The views of the lake are spectacular in every room from the house. Thank you for opening your home to us! We'd love to return for another relaxing trip in summers to come!
My wife, son, daughter in law and I really enjoyed our stay. It’s a beautiful location on the lake and you can choose to be active with hiking and water sports or just enjoy the peaceful location as we did. The house is well appointed with plenty of rooms for everyone to spread out. Roberta was very accessible and eager to help us with anything that came up. Their really isn’t a beach to hang out on because it’s steep and rocky but the floating dock is nice. Had a great time and would recommend.
Well maintained lakefront property. Peaceful, relaxing, refreshing retreat. Fishing, kayaking, paddle boarding & swimming from the dock was so convenient and enjoyable. Plenty of room in the house for the 4 of us, our small dog, and all our fishing/hiking/floating gear. We’ll equipped kitchen for prepping meals. Had everything I needed to to fry up a fresh beer battered Walleye I was lucky enough to catch! Amazing views of the lake throughout and gorgeous sunsets. Dog loved looking out the windows at the lake. I was able to brush up on my Sacandaga River basin history by reading the book that was conveniently located at my fingertips in the sunroom. Lots of homey touches throughout the house made us feel comfortable. The old postcards were really cool as was the Bluetooth bathroom vent speaker. It’s the Adirondacks so there were lots of bugs at night. The “guide to the cabin” book provided a good strategy to help keep the bugs out by keeping doors shut but we found some bug spray to address some small gnat/flies that did manage to infiltrate the bathroom. Sacandaga Brewing was a fun stop on our way in. Enjoyed some great hiking at nearby Wilcox St. Forest. Everyone loved the hike to Tenant Creek Falls including the dog! Took a trip into Saratoga and grabbed a bite at Druthers 550 Waterfront on Saratoga Lake. Outdoor dining at Lanzis Lakeside Tavern and Marina on Sacandaga followed by ice cream at the Lazy Bear was perfect way to end our trip!
We were absolutely pleased with our stay here! The sunsets were the best I’ve ever seen. We had everything we needed there, the beds were so comfy, the many many windows with views of the lake and wooded area were to die for. Spacious. Quiet. My personal favorite, and I think bonus, was the record player and the many great records to play :)
Great lake house with fantastic views from many rooms. The home is fully stocked with everything you need. The beds were comfortable with lots of pillow choices! So thoughtful. Our family included those from 2 to 71 and all had a great time. I do want to warn that the property is terraced and the drops are fairly substantial. You need to keep close watch on small children. Our three Grandkids enjoyed it. All in all - super! Thanks!
The sunsets were breathtaking. The place had plenty of room. Much bigger than it appeared online. Two things to note, the driveway is steep- do not go down with something in tow, it is difficult to turn around. The other is the entry to the lake is rocky, there is a long thin dock but no swim ladder. To get to the water there are 27 steps of varying lengths, my 87 year old father was with me for a couple of days, I suggested he not go down to the water. All in all we loved the rental, the views, the lake and had a super week!
We enjoyed our stay! Great location and the house was clean ans spacious! The yard has different elevations due to being on a hill, might be harder for kids under 3. Overall we would stay there again!
We all really enjoyed our stay at the lakeside cabin. The fishing was excellent, the house was spacious and comfortable for everyone, and the views from the lake were fantastic. Overall a great spot, and made our vacation a special time.
Beautiful place! Would definitely recommend
We couldn’t be happier with our stay at this home. Roomy, stocked kitchen for cooking, swimming, kayaking and a lovely room to read or play games that over looks the lake.
What a lovely relaxing week we had! The view of the lake and sunsets were amazing. The sunroom was a favorite place to chill with coffee in the morning and a breezy way to unwind at the end of a day. We enjoyed the breweries and waterfalls and all that the area had to offer.
Surprised my wife on her birthday ?perfect location great sunsets
Absolutely gorgeous view of the lake! Sunsets too beautiful to describe! Well maintained, quiet cabin with lots of room! Roberta was a pleasure to communicate with, and very helpful! Fishing off the dock was a success! Lots of small mouth bass!
A thoroughly enjoyable stay at Fox's Den. Location, well appointed home, and waterside couldn't have been better. My wife and grandson shared in enjoying all it had to offer. My thanks to the owner for being so accessable and helpful.
This is the place to go if you’re looking for relaxation, exquisite views and an amazing sunset. The lake house is spacious, clean, well stocked, and easy to get to. The parking is roomy enough for more than 3 cars so you don’t have to worry about squeezing them in. There is even an outside outlet if you have an electric car. The lake house is located in a peaceful, quiet neighborhood with an abundance of trees that gives you privacy. The lake is clean but is rocky so bring your water shoes and floating tubes.
