Authentic Mountain Log Cabin Perched On A Cliff Side Above The Shenandoah River

Well kept log cabin with a recent addition adding a large master bedroom. You have a beautiful view from the deck overlooking the river.

The cabin was cozy and exactly what we were looking for. The view was amazing.

This was the best location, so serene and peaceful. The bed needs updating, bring your own pillow and blankets. LOVED that there was provided firewood and outdoor furniture and walking path to the river. We had a great time, thank you!

Beautiful Cabin, very nice interior. Terrific deck overlooking the river. Kitchen is well stocked with dishes, skillets, saucepans, and other cooking needs. Master bedroom has a great view and fireplace.

Everything we were looking for in a cabin stay. Spectacular view of the Shenandoah River from the porch or from inside. The cabin had plenty of heating for the winter and we were provided plenty of firewood. Host ensured road to cabin was accessible and kept us informed prior to stay. Would visit again, for sure!

It was exactly as advertised: it’s a cabin with modern amenities and awesome views of the landscape, especially the river. It’s a good spot.

The cabin was exactly what we hoped for: secluded and quiet with a fantastic view, and only a 10 minute drive from town. Sadly, in order to avoid an incoming snow storm we chose to leave a night early. We will absolutely be back when the weather warms up! Thank you for sharing your home with us John!

Everything was perfect! Cabin was cozy and spacious! Felt welcoming and safe.

House was clean, cared for, and well equipped (even had a waffle iron). Location is quiet and scenic, highly recommend this cabin overlooking the river for a peaceful getaway.

This is our fourth stay in one of John’s cabins. The cozy cottage is definitely our favorite for the king sized bed and wraparound porch with incredible views. Truly appreciate the ability to get away with our dogs in a secluded space only 10 minutes away from amenities. Highly recommend to anyone considering a stay.

My family and I had a wonderful weekend stay at the Cozy Cabin.The weather and leaves along with view of the river were beautiful. The cabin beautiful with plenty of wood for indoor and outdoor fires. We hope to return in the future.

Loved the place..but the lockbox on gate is almost impossible to open..took us over 20 minutes in and out..wont open easy AT ALL. Only other complaint was that i drove over 1000 miles..exhausted..time for bed and realized we have to make our beds! ..ceiling light in kitchen was out so it was kinda dark..but loved eveything else!!!

Beautiful location. Equipped with all we needed. Decks and cabin were perfect for R and R. Very close to Skyline drive and hiking. We truly enjoyed ourselves.

Breath taking views. Greeted with a Bald Eagle perched just off the patio. Very quiet and serene location. Host was quickly responsive to questions. Entry to the property road was difficult and potentially dangerous. Very sharp turn right after a turn on the state road. Highly recommend that people use the graveled area on the left side of the road. Obtaining the gate key tricky but it might be the fact that I was not familiar with the lockbox. Definitely we would return to the property if our future travel brought us to the area

Wonderful as always, and we noticed it was brighter in the kitchen—maybe just a changed bulb but much appreciated for two cooks!

We enjoyed our time at Cozy Cabin with its beauty, charm, and quiet location. While the temperatures were hot, we were still able to enjoy the outdoors with the covered porch and outdoor ceiling fan. We would recommend this home to our friends and family.

This is a piece of heaven on earth. My husband and I celebrated our anniversary here and was so amazingly impressed by the beauty of the property/cabin and also the graciousness of our host! We were so blessed by him and his hospitality. We did not want to leave and chose to stay an additional night. We will definitely be back! The property was absolutely beautiful, and so peaceful and quiet. Everything was very clean (just some occasional ash that would land on surfaces from the fireplace, which we didn’t use, but wasn’t a big deal), and the bed was super comfortable. Everything was nicely upgraded for being a rustic cabin, and we would absolutely stay there again.

The property is truly breathtaking and the photos do not do the location justice. It is indeed high up in a cliff overlooking the beautiful Shenandoah. We spent almost all of our time on the back deck, watching storms roll by and listening to the birds. Inside, we did not lack for anything. The kitchen was well-appointed and the stove was awesome to cook on, induction I think. The master bedroom had an incredible view and the bathroom was luxurious. Most importantly, the beds were very comfortable and we all slept very well during our stay. 10/10 would recommend Cozy Canin to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway.

Great location! Loved the cabin! We were at the cabin for five days and went to various hikes and numerous vineyards. Enjoyed the time on the deck, sipping wine overlooking the river. A great addition. Thank you sharing

Lovely property with beautiful view!

A lovely time as always, and it’s nice to see little improvements like the deck chair risers—it really does make a difference when taking in that view.

Cabin was exactly as expected, view was even better. Quiet, peaceful property very close to outdoor adventures including kayaking/canoeing, ziplining, hiking, and caverns. Had some minor water heating issues, but host was prompt with offering resolution. We’ll be back!

We were looking for a weekend getaway to do some hiking in Shenendoah and the Cozy Cabin was perfect! The views from the deck were gorgeous, and loved having a fireplace in the living room and bedroom on a cold weekend. Close to Front Royal, and the park - overall very happy with our stay!

This cabin stay was wonderful. It is perched high on a cliff and the views are spectacular. The cabin is secluded which makes for a nice relaxing stay. I can't wait to come back.

Cozy cabin is perched high over the south fork of the Shenandoah with astonishing views of the river and Massanutten mountain beyond. We were lucky enough to be there during a snowfall which made the property truly magical. Because of a communication glitch between owner and cleaning service, we arrived to a cabin which had not been cleaned or restocked. These things do happen and what is more important is that the issue was dealt with swiftly, kindly and professionally by John and his cleaner. We can’t wait to come back to experience this wonderful spot in the warm weather.

The cabin was really nice, had an amazing view, walking trails for the dogs, and the nicest bathroom! There is a gate you come in and out of next to a railroad tracks up a steep driveway (read the instructions before you get there, they give lots of details and a map on it), but never even heard the train. We had a great time, hoping to come back at some point!

Had an amazing week unwinding at Cozy Cabin. The cabin is nestled in the woods far off the road. There are trails on the property that take you down to the rivers edge. If you want to go into town, it’s a short drive into Front Royal. Lots of wineries and breweries close by as well. We spent time on the many trials that are close driving distance to the cabin, hiking with our two dogs. Perfection!

The property was fantastic and views from the deck were spectacular. My wife and I were looking for a very special cabin to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary and we found a little slice of heaven overlooking the Shenandoah River.Our host made the trip extra special by making all the details were covered.We can't recommend this property enough. We are looking forward to our next trip already.

My husband and I needed a weekend away, and this was the perfect spot! The cabin is exactly as pictured, and the views from the wrap-around deck are just spectacular! We made use of the fireplace on chilly mornings, and it was close enough to Skyline Drive that we were able to spend multiple days in the national park. We are already planning to return again soon!

Cozy Cabin is the perfect combination of rustic cabin with updated amenities. The master suite with ensuite bathroom and mountain/ river views is exactly as pictured. It is the not a short drive to both National and state park trails, grocery store, wineries and unique eateries in quaint downtown Front Royal. We’ll definitely plan a return visit

Our biggest regret was not being able to spend more time at the cabin it is in such a beautifulsetting. We were there to see the Shenandoah National Park and this was the perfect location for quick acces to the park.

This is our third stay at one of John's properties and our second stay at the Cozy Cabin - and will not be our last. As in our prior visits, we had a fantastic experience. We truly value and enjoy the absolute seclusion of the property - not to mention the fantastic views. A very special thanks to John for his support in helping us manage an unexpected situation this trip (our rental car broke down). He is a great communicator and offered some fantastic advise. We would never even consider staying anywhere else when in the Front Royal area.

I stayed here for a weekend friends getaway, and it was lovely. The property was as pictured - cozy and inviting, with a wood fireplace (and plenty of firewood available for evening fires). The views from the porch are amazing, and there were several comfortable chairs on the porch, so we spent a lot of time sitting outside and looking out at the river and the mountains. Check-in and check-out was very easy, with clear instructions provided by the host. The only thing I'd note for other groups considering this rental is that the road to get up to the cabin is steep and graveled, so it could be a challenge with certain low-to-the-ground cars (although we had no trouble in a minivan).

We enjoyed our stay so very much. We loved the seclusion, the views, and the cabin was so comfortable. The cabin is very secluded, yet we were able to get to attractions and town pretty quickly. We enjoyed the restaurants in Front Royal. Mom's Kitchen and the Main Stret Mill were outstanding. Highly recommend them we chose not to cook and we ate out while we were there.

The wooded cliffside location overlooking the Shenandoah River was peaceful. The log cabin had a new bedroom/bath addition, wrap around decking and wood and gas fireplaces. The kitchen had all the required utensils. There were a lot of rules and instructions that could be considered helpful. If you're checking in late, bring coffee if you want it in the morning and be prepared to make the bed with the linens provided. A great place for a relaxing weekend or longer stay.

Exactly what my wife and I needed. We didn’t leave the place on Satutday. Just sat on the deck overlooking the river (amazing views) and read and talked. Very relaxing weekend. Will be back!

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Cabin is tucked away and has all amenities needed. The wrap around porch provides stunning views - perfect for bird watching! We even spotted some bald eagles. The enclosed outdoor fireplace was perfect for making smores with the kids. We loved everything about this cozy cabin!

The cabin and location were great. Saw 3 eagles and an osprey from the deck. The view was excellent. The only reason I didn’t rate it 5 stars was 2 towels for three people for 4 days and $25 for extra towels. Went to Wal-mart and bought towels for $3 each. Would definitely stay again.

This is a great place to just get away and relax. The host was great under some uncontrollable circumstances. Due to Hurricane Debby, there was no power for several hours. The host kept us updated on the restoration process and made sure we were ok. We all hated to leave!

Beautiful view, really breathtaking. Definitely the biggest plus! Furthermore a nice and cozy cabin with clean floors, surfaces, fridge and bathroom. The master bedroom was amazing, with those sliding doors to the deck and the view from your bed! Only one small minus: the towels provided were all stained and the cutlery, glasses, mugs, plates, etc. weren't clean either. cutlery/glasses/plates in the kitchclean either.

My wife and I decided to take a small anniversary vacation and found this little cabin in the Shenandoah valley. We loved the remoteness of the area and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

This is our 3rd time renting either River View and Cozy Cabin. Intend on making it our yearly getaway.
