We had a great stay in the Big Leaf cabin! My husband loves to play disc golf and he had a great time exploring the course at Hickory Hills. The owner is very helpful and responsive. The cabin was a perfect for our family of 6.

Expected to be able to use the ferry for a shorter travel to Mammoth Caves, but due to flooding it seems that won't be available any time soon, so the time from the cabin to the visitor center was over half an hour. BUT worth everything!!! Did not mind the extra driving, cabin was beautiful, clean and extremely comfortable. Loved every minute!!!

Beautiful cabin nestled near Mammoth Cave National Park and on a disc golf course. We loved the cabin and property, and we are not disc golf enthusiasts! You can walk the course, just watch out for flying discs. The owner is super friendly and helpful, though his assisatant Cody (the owner's dog) is the true star of the property.

We stayed at the cabin over spring break in March 2025. We enjoyed the cabin's location (riding the ferry to and from Mammoth Caves was a highlight for our kids, age 11 and 8). The cabin's host Frank and dog Cody welcomed us to the property and provided us discs to practice disc golf during our stay. The kids loved practicing near the cabin and playing in the cabin loft. During our trip, we enjoyed cave tours at Mammoth, ziplining and horseback riding at Adventures of Mammoth Cave, lunch at 5 Broke Girls, and a trip to Dinosaur World for our youngest. Overall, a great trip and a wonderful, cozy cabin for our stay :)

We loved our little but spacious cabin! The location was great for what we were looking for which was to be close to the caves. Unfortunately the weather had turned very cold during our trip and we didn't get to enjoying the disc golf or trails there at the cabin but plan on staying here again this coming summer.

The owner and property were both amazing! He even provided us with discs to play golf during our stay after we had forgotten some. The cabin was clean and stocked with anything we needed to cook. Location was great but a longer drive to the park than anticipated (more our fault than theirs)

My only reason for giving this cabin 4 stars on neighborhood is because of you are traveling to or from the cave park you must take a ferry across the river. Trailers are not allowed on the ferry, this meant we had to turn around, return to the cabin, drop the trailer, and return. We almost missed our cave tour. The owners had no way of knowing we were traveling with a trailer so I cannot find any fault with them. The cabin was perfect for us and even has a frisby golf course attached I don’t play but it made for a great area for a morning run. Nice cabin, everything worked and beds were comfy. It is very close to blue holler so that made for an easy ride back after a long day on the trails. I would certainly stay here again.

Everything about the place was as advertised; however the place needed cleaning. Mold and stains in the shower. Kitchen utensils dirty. Not unexpectedly, there were insects to be dealt with. This wasn't a problem as the location of the home was in the woods. With a few updates and better cleaning I would stay there again. Good location, Owner was friendly and flexible with some arrival issues we had.
